**A Weekend with the Dark Romance Enthusiasts**

The weekend was an incredible experience that allowed me to connect with fellow book lovers and indulge in my love for dark romance novels. It all started when I joined a group of friends who were eager to watch me read dark romance novels over the course of a week. The group consisted of myself, HarperCollins Avon books representatives, Epic Reads team members, and several other influencers in the book community.

As we discussed the books that would be featured in our reading challenge, I explained my experience with watching videos of dark romance novels being read. I mentioned how some of those videos were hit or miss for me, but I was excited to share my thoughts on four new recommendations provided by Lissa. We decided to visit The Ripped Bodice bookstore and Remat bookstore together, where all four books would be waiting for us. The excitement was palpable as we browsed through the shelves, eager to find these highly-recommended novels.

The first book I tackled was "Kill Switch", the third installment in the Devil's Knight series by Anna Zaires. I had heard that this book was the best in the series, and I wanted to give it a try before completely abandoning the series. The plot was indeed entertaining, with the same level of unbridled energy that had made the first two books so captivating, despite my initial reservations about the characters. I was excited to dive into this one and see if it would live up to its reputation.

The next book on my list was "God of Fury", which Lissa insisted I read immediately. This book had piqued her interest, and she couldn't stop raving about it. From the blurb alone, I could sense that this was going to be a wild ride. The premise seemed intriguing - a college student who wasn't attracted to men before being slammed into Nikolai, a mafia air, and a violent monster. As someone who had already devoured "Hul" (which didn't quite live up to my expectations), I was both apprehensive and excited to see what this new book would bring.

The final two books on our list were even more out of my comfort zone. I had been warned that these might be hit or miss, but I was eager to explore the darker corners of romance with Lissa's recommendations. The first of these books, "Her Soul to Take", promised a demon as its central plot device. A college student had unleashed an irresistible darkness - a soul-hungry demon who might be her only chance at survival. As someone who loves college romances, I was intrigued by this combination of genres.

The final book on our list was the most out of my comfort zone of all, but I was determined to give it a try. Lissa had promised that it would be a thrilling ride, and I was eager to experience it for myself. The premise was simple: a college student who wasn't looking to play it safe during her final month of freedom. This book seemed like the perfect blend of dark romance and forbidden love - just what I needed to push my comfort zone.

**A Weekend in Books**

After finishing our reading challenge, we decided to take some time to relax and socialize with each other. We visited Bibliotech bookstore and cafe, where we participated in a wine tasting event. This was a unique experience that allowed us to mingle with the books while enjoying some fine wine. The atmosphere was lively, and I felt grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful people who shared my passion for reading.

As the weekend drew to a close, we gathered at the airport to say our goodbyes. It was hard to believe that our time together had come to an end, but I knew that we would all stay in touch and continue to support each other's love of books. at like 5 but today I have a few things on my to-do list to do before we leave number one I need a pack and number two I want to read some of this book one second pride and premeditation I need to read as much as I can today because the first thing we do when we get there is we're having like a mix and mingle meet and greet with all of the book content creators that were invited and then there's also going to be a bunch of authors there I somehow don't think I've ever met an author in my life I don't think I have Adam Silvera is going to be there and he wrote they both die at the end which I have read and really like so that would be really cool to meet him and then there's two authors whose books I haven't read but I own their books terzza price who wrote pride and premeditation and then Victoria aard who wrote the Red Queen and so I was like I should read at least one of these books I think it's just more meaningful to meet an author whose book you've read before so it's debating which one and I think this book sounds so good I really want to read it but it is the first book in a fantasy series and it felt overwhelming to start an entirely new fantasy series the day before going to New York to meet the author of said fantasy series so I decided on pride and premeditation which can be read as a standalone book and I started this book last night and I'm on page 113 I don't need to finish the book today because I will have time to read on the plane tomorrow but I would like to get through as much of this book as I can today and so far I really like it and the book is like inspired by Pride and Prejudice if you couldn't tell from the title I never read Pride and Prejudice I started it at one point in my life and I started it by listening to the Audi book I did end up dnfing it but I think it was just like the wrong circumstances I think I would like Pride and Prejudice if I sat down and fully paid attention and read the physical book but even with my lack of knowledge of Pride and Prejudice I'm still really loving this story it's young adult and it follows 17-year-old Lizzy who really wants to be a lawyer and there's a murder in her town and she decides she's going to investigate this murder to try and prove that she has what it takes to be a good lawyer especially because she's a woman and it's set I think in like the 1800s so she really has to prove herself and she meets Darcy who is a lawyer and he annoys her so we've got this like vicer ining enemies to lovers that I know Pride and Prejudice is really known for it's fun when books like combine genres because you have like two main plot points and you're like equally invested in both plot points the romance and the murder mystery then I switched to the audiobook so I can start packing here's a little sneak peek of some of the outfits that I'm going to wear this weekend I'm trying to pack all my cutest outfits because there are so many fun activities that we have planned to do this weekend I am so excited about all of the outfits that I'm packing some of these outfits though are so hard to figure out like what undergarments to wear with them so I have been absolutely nervous about with the romance is that we haven't gotten much of it at all like Darcy and Lizzy haven't really interacted much and I feel like with enemies to lovers you do need to spend like a significant is amount of time showing that transformation so it's realistic makes me a little bit nervous that it's going to be rushed at the end so I don't know we'll see on that front the mystery is interesting I do wish it was a little more like twisty turny but it's cute and I still don't know who the murderer is so I am very intrigued all right I'm going to keep listening to the Audi book and do my nails good morning it is 5: in the morning also I forgot to mention this sooner but if you saw my last video you're probably like weren't you Dr in New York yes I did have like a trip booked to New York that I took with my boyfriend Danny at the end of May it's now like mid June and I found out about this trip not too long ago so that is how I accidentally had two New York trips in a row anyway let's go to the airport I made it to New York I'm so sleepy but I am persevering the first thing we're doing is meeting all of the other content creators and the authors at the Harper Collins office which I think is going to be so fun to see their office whenever I landed at the airport they had a car picked me up which felt so fancy and I shared the car with Ashley who is a book content creator and it was like an hour car right so we ch about like books and stuff the whole time and she was so sweet and it's like so cool on this trip that not only will I hopefully see people who I already know and love watching but I'll also meet new people and find new people to watch and then I know that Lorissa is here in New York or Larry reads on YouTube so I'm so excited to meet her in person oh my gosh how could I forget hang on I finished reading pride and premeditation on the plane it was so cute I think I'm going to say 3. five stars just because it is like a little lighter read and I don't know there were just points where I wanted more but I did really like it so I think if you're looking for like a light fun cute ya romance plus murder mystery and especially if you're a Jane Austin Pride and Prejudice fan then you would really love this book we're walking to the Harper Collins offices and the harbor Collins office was so cute and bookish and they gave us tote bags that they had embroidered with our initials which was so fun this was just like an example one and then it was time for the signing line first I went and got my copy of Pride and premeditation signed and then I got both my copy of the Red Queen and Victoria AV yard's newest book signed by her tell us go incredible stupendous the wave test just keep going wave and then they gave us a box and put us in a room full of books and said take whatever you want this is literally my most magical book of streams coming to life I had to grab a Testa Bailey book and then murder in the family I already own but it's amazing and then of course had to grab Bridgeton I can't believe I've never read a Bridgerton book before this book I bought on my last New York book shopping trip then got to get the sequel to they both die at the end and I've heard great things about Peter Swanson's mystery book so consider this book grabbed another book by the same author of Shatter Me grabbed and this book was thick but the cover was so pretty so immediately also grabbed and they had so many other fun little events for us like getting our auras read and then it was time to find some food we are going to get tacos yes we're getting tacos have to see this Sunset it's insane yeah look at this they saw the sunset was beautiful but I thought this view was more beautiful wow smoo oh she's smooth oh she's good Lissa and I have found food we are munching I'm back in my hotel just showered the evening was so fun I feel like the footage you just saw was probably a little bit all over the place it was a little chaotic there were so many people which was so cool to meet so many different content creators and authors and people at the harbor Collins team but it was also a little overwhelming to be like I need to talk to everyone introduce myself well also like filming YouTube video yeah it was so cool I got let me show you the books a few books signed by authors that were there I got more than this but they very kindly provided us with a box that they're going to ship home to us these are the ones I can fit my suitcase and the rest I put in the box but got my copy of Red Queen signed Victoria avard was so sweet she was so nice and it says to Ally so now I need to read this series ASAP and then it was also really cool to talk to the author of Pride and premeditation like in the back of the book in the author's note she really talked about how much research went into the book like she wanted it to be authentic to the time period but she also wanted it to be fictional and have her own like creative freedom to not follow every single historical accuracy so it was cool to yeah have just read the book read kind of behind the scenes of it an author's note and then get to talk to her about it the same day I finished the book like I've never experienced anything like that before and she wrote two happy investigating which is so cute and then new book that I picked up is blackout I have seen this at the bookstore multiple times and have always thought about getting it I was like no way perfect opportunity I will for sure get it today and so I got to meet one of the authors and she signed it and it has a very cool premise it says a summer Heatwave blankets New York City in darkness and 13 teens are trying to make it to the biggest block party of the summer but will the blackout stop them in their tracks and there's six authors and it says they celebrate the beauty of six couples each chapter says who the author is so it's just like a really cool concept and I'm now so tired and ready to sleep because we've got an early day tomorrow going to three different bookstores in the morning in Brooklyn and one of the bookstores is the rip bodice which is an all romance bookstore and if you saw my last video where I went book shopping in New York that one was on my list and I did not make it there so I'm so happy that we're going there tomorrow it's like the most me bookstore ever it's the most us bookstore ever we're all romance lovers and it was also so cool meeting Lissa she is so sweet we're going to get breakfast in the morning I'm so excited and Jack Edwards is here I did not expect that I love Jack Edwards I was fangirling internally and trying to play cool on the outside good morning it's book shopping day let me show you the book shopping OOTD I adore this shirt it's from Urban Outfitters it's like my new favorite shirt I've been wearing it 24/7 and then just jeans and little pink sneakers and today's tote bag they named the event shelves and the city which is so cute we're going book shopping our first bookstore is Cafe Con Li Bros which I've never been to what is everybody's book limit apparently that's bad that my limit is five but it's impressive I I talked to L this morning I was like how many books are you buying and she was like only five and I said only only and then we have a new character in the Vlog yourself and what do you like to read what's your genre oh my gosh okay fantasy fantasy Romance Roman ROM little ROM we're all Romany girl I like to read romance and I am Larry re I never introduced you just assumed you're like yeah so everyone knows of course I'm kid also look at Larry's top bag this is Iconic real it's crazy there is so many of us and the bookstore is so small so we're going in turns we made it into bookstore one and it's so cute in here and there's going to be coffee yes are you buying any books here no I'm going to save myself for the ripped bodice I have to I'm doing the same despite this bookstore being so small inside I really loved how they had such a huge variety of different book sections and here are some books that really caught my eye based on the cover also apologies in advance for the audio on the next clip once we all got inside the book store it got real loud we searched high and low and we found the romance section on the floor on my list Before I Let Go by c r i own it so good so good and there's another one there's a second one too this could be us yeah it's like three best friends and they're each getting books is it sad serious yes but it's not like oh my God I'm sobbing sad it's more like a sad okay I can do that I can do that I feel like sad books I love afterwards but when I'm reading it I'm like why am I doing that I love sad books if it has a happy ending if it doesn't also Tessa Bailey book do you read much Tess Bailey I have but I haven't read the it happened on summer and stin I think are the only Tessa Bailey books I've ever read but I'm always like I love Tessa Bailey and I'm like I've only read to now that you say that I'm like do I love Tessa Bailey I feel like I'm a fake fan wait this is on my list actually stupendous you know what I love that you say stupendous you said it yesterday and I was like what an interesting to choice I love I say so many random words like that and people are always like said that in the last like 20 years hav you're like a fairy princess just like super cute from Bridgerton era that's what it gives that's what it love and I'm like slay we spent so long in Cafe Con libros that we had very limited time here I think we had like 15 minutes so this felt like a bookstore challenge within itself to try and do this entire bookstore in a very limited amount of time one author I would really like to more of is Taylor Jenkins re I've read three books by her and really loved all of them so I definitely need to pick up more by her and then I thought this book had such a cool cover and I really love the covers of those two as well Lissa and I have decided to get matching books and it's summer I'm in the mood for every Summer Romance you read at the beach I don't go to the beach we'll go to the beach to read this I could not get over how cute this bookstore was they had book pages all over the the walls and the ceiling they had heart lights hanging from the ceiling and I was just in Romance girl Heaven I've been really debating reading the Bridgerton series but I've already seen the show so I don't know if it's like worth it to go back and read the books and they had not in love by Ali Hazelwood which I already own but love her excited for her new book and they had every romance section imaginable which made my heart so happy not just like subg genres but also tropes like they had an enemies to lover section contemporary historical every kind of romance you could want including Romany all right Jack's book haul this my book haul worry is a good reflection of my mental state currently we're like going to these book stores and it's stressful cuz there's 60 people and we have like a time limit it's like like that Nicki Minaj thing like and then this one is going to be funny it's about New York city so I feel like buying a New York book in New York makes sense it's incredible and the covers a moment for the cou Chef kiss one series I desperately need to finish is the atas 6 series I read the atas 6 2 years ago and we gave it five stars and still have not gotten to book two I need to do that I also really want to read Off to the Races by Elsie silver but I'm scared it won't live up to the chestnut spring series and then I 100% want to read more Mariana Zapata and then we headed back to our hotel to chill before our afternoon book activities I'm back at the hotel temporarily it's like 40000 p.m. and we're going to dinner in like an hour and then we have a rooftop party so it's been a great day it's been such a long day I'm such a natural introvert at heart so this year has been so incredibly fun but also like overwhelming for the introvert and me anyway let me show you every book I bought at the bookstores we went to three it was so cute I'm so happy we got to go to the rip Bice like dream bookstore right there and then the other two were also so fun so adorable and I've never in my life shopped with like other booktubers so it it's also so fun to see like what everyone else was buying I went in with list just like a mental list came out with not a single book that was on my list which is honestly like part of the fun of book shopping like just going into a bookstore and just discovering books that you see I got five books I also was like I'm limiting myself to three walks out with five at the first book store I did not get any books but the second bookstore me and Lissa were like we should get one book that's the same book and so we got Summer Romance neither of us read the summary we just saw the cover and we were like this is the one no way the main character's name is Ally and she spells it a l I never ever meet alies who spell it a i it's always like a l l i e or like a y like there's so many variations okay this is fate I'm so happy I got this book okay A little bit of a vague plot but with romance I feel like that's okay like they can just be two people connecting it says that Ally is a professional organizer which is such a fun job but that her life is a mess and that she is a single mom I have recently not even recently like the last year been like really loving the single parat Trope and then she meets Ethan and it doesn't say much about him I like when like a synopsis pulls me in but then it's also like so fun to go in blind but I know it'll be a summer Vibe I know it'll be a cute romance and I know it'll be a good time and then at the ripped bodice the books I was buying went a little bit off the rails okay let me explain this morning Lissa and I went and got coffee just the two of us and she was like asking me if I read dark romance and I was like kind of like I I love the mind series I like Butcher and Blackbird I like the dark verse series but outside of that like I haven't really dabbled into dark romance I say that and I did film an entire video of like reading dark romance for a week but a lot of those were like really hit and miss for me and that's what I was explaining to her so I was like these are the ones I didn't like and then these are the ones I did like where should I begin and so she gave me like four recommendations and then we were at bookstore Cafe and Wine Bar and we did a wine tasting in the bookstore which was so cool and then it was dinner time I grabbed dinner with Lizzy Lissa and Lexi and we ended the night with a rooftop party and so much of the weekend we were in such a large group which was so fun to meet so many amazing book content creators but this was such a nice time to just relax and have more one-on-one time my boyfriend Danny at the end of May it's now like mid June and I found out about this trip not too long ago so that is how I accidentally had two New York trips in a row anyway let's go to the airport I made it to New York I'm so sleepy but I am persevering the first thing we're doing is meeting all of the other content creators and the authors at the Harper Collins office which I think is going to be so fun to see their office whenever I landed at the airport they had a car picked me up which felt so fancy and I shared the car with Ashley who is a book content creator and it was like an hour car right so we ch about like books and stuff the whole time and she was so sweet and it's like so cool on this trip that not only will I hopefully see people who I already know and love watching but I'll also meet new people and find new people to watch and then I know that Lorissa is here in New York or Larry reads on YouTube so I'm so excited to meet her in person oh my gosh how could I forget hang on I finished reading pride and premeditation on the plane it was so cute I think I'm going to say 3. five stars just because it is like a little lighter read and I don't know there were just points where I wanted more but I did really like it so I think if you're looking for like a light fun cute ya romance plus murder mystery and especially if you're a Jane Austin Pride and Prejudice fan then you would really love this book we're walking to the Harper Collins offices and the harbor Collins office was so cute and bookish and they gave us tote bags that they had embroidered with our initials which was so fun this was just like an example one and then it was time for the signing line first I went and got my copy of Pride and premeditation signed and then I got both my copy of the Red Queen and Victoria AV yard's newest book signed by her tell us go incredible stupendous the wave test just keep going wave and then they gave us a box and put us in a room full of books and said take whatever you want this is literally my most magical book of streams coming to life I had to grab a Testa Bailey book and then murder in the family I already own but it's amazing and then of course had to grab Bridgeton I can't believe I've never read a Bridgerton book before this book I bought on my last New York book shopping trip then got to get the sequel to they both die at the end and I've heard great things about Peter Swanson's mystery book so consider this book grabbed another book by the same author of Shatter Me grabbed and this book was thick but the cover was so pretty so immediately also grabbed and they had so many other fun little events for us like getting our auras read and then it was time to find some food we are going to get tacos yes we're getting tacos have to see this Sunset it's insane yeah look at this they saw the sunset was beautiful but I thought this view was more beautiful wow smoo oh she's smooth oh she's good Lissa and I have found food we are munching I'm back in my hotel just showered the evening was so fun I feel like the footage you just saw was probably a little bit all over the place it was a little chaotic there were so many people which was so cool to meet so many different content creators and authors and people at the harbor Collins team but it was also a little overwhelming to be like I need to talk to everyone introduce myself well also like filming YouTube video yeah it was so cool I got let me show you the books a few books signed by authors that were there I got more than this but they very kindly provided us with a box that they're going to ship home to us these are the ones I can fit my suitcase and the rest I put in the box but got my copy of Red Queen signed Victoria avard was so sweet she was so nice and it says to Ally so now I need to read this series ASAP and then it was also really cool to talk to the author of Pride and premeditation like in the back of the book in the author's note she really talked about how much research went into the book like she wanted it to be authentic to the time period but she also wanted it to be fictional and have her own like creative freedom to not follow every single historical accuracy so it was cool to yeah have just read the book read kind of behind the scenes of it an author's note and then get to talk to her about it the same day I finished the book like I've never experienced anything like that before and she wrote two happy investigating which is so cute and then new book that I picked up is blackout I have seen this at the bookstore multiple times and have always thought about getting it I was like no way perfect opportunity I will for sure get it today and so I got to meet one of the authors and she signed it and it has a very cool premise it says a summer Heatwave blankets New York City in darkness and 13 teens are trying to make it to the biggest block party of the summer but will the blackout stop them in their tracks and there's six authors and it says they celebrate the beauty of six couples each chapter says who the author is so it's just like a really cool concept and I'm now so tired and ready to sleep because we've got an early day tomorrow going to three different bookstores in the morning in Brooklyn and one of the bookstores is the rip bodice which is an all romance bookstore and if you saw my last video where I went book shopping in New York that one was on my list and I did not make it there so I'm so happy that we're going there tomorrow it's like the most me bookstore ever it's the most us bookstore ever we're all romance lovers and it was also so cool meeting Lissa she is so sweet we're going to get breakfast in the morning I'm so excited and Jack Edwards is here I did not expect that I love Jack Edwards I was fangirling internally and trying to play cool on the outside good morning it's book shopping day let me show you the book shopping OOTD I adore this shirt it's from Urban Outfitters it's like my new favorite shirt I've been wearing it 24/7 and then just jeans and little pink sneakers and today's tote bag they named the event shelves and the city which is so cute we're going book shopping our first bookstore is Cafe Con Li Bros which I've never been to what is everybody's book limit apparently that's bad that my limit is five but it's impressive I I talked to L this morning I was like how many books are you buying and she was like only five and I said only only and then we have a new character in the Vlog yourself and what do you like to read what's your genre oh my gosh okay fantasy fantasy Romance Roman ROM little ROM we're all Romany girl I like to read romance and I am Larry re I never introduced you just assumed you're like yeah so everyone knows of course I'm kid also look at Larry's top bag this is Iconic real it's crazy there is so many of us and the bookstore is so small so we're going in turns we made it into bookstore one and it's so cute in here and there's going to be coffee yes are you buying any books here no I'm going to save myself for the ripped bodice I have to I'm doing the same despite this bookstore being so small inside I really loved how they had such a huge variety of different book sections and here are some books that really caught my eye based on the cover also apologies in advance for the audio on the next clip once we all got inside the book store it got real loud we searched high and low and we found the romance section on the floor on my list Before I Let Go by c r i own it so good so good and there's another one there's a second one too this could be us yeah it's like three best friends and they're each getting books is it sad serious yes but it's not like oh my God I'm sobbing sad it's more like a sad okay I can do that I can do that I feel like sad books I love afterwards but when I'm reading it I'm like why am I doing that I love sad books if it has a happy ending if it doesn't also Tessa Bailey book do you read much Tess Bailey I have but I haven't read the it happened on summer and stin I think are the only Tessa Bailey books I've ever read but I'm always like I love Tessa Bailey and I'm like I've only read to now that you say that I'm like do I love Tessa Bailey I feel like I'm a fake fan wait this is on my list actually stupendous you know what I love that you say stupendous you said it yesterday and I was like what an interesting to choice I love I say so many random words like that and people are always like said that in the last like 20 years hav you're like a fairy princess just like super cute from Bridgerton era that's what it gives that's what it love and I'm like slay we spent so long in Cafe Con libros that we had very limited time here I think we had like 15 minutes so this felt like a bookstore challenge within itself to try and do this entire bookstore in a very limited amount of time one author I would really like to more of is Taylor Jenkins re I've read three books by her and really loved all of them so I definitely need to pick up more by her and then I thought this book had such a cool cover and I really love the covers of those two as well Lissa and I have decided to get matching books and it's summer I'm in the mood for every Summer Romance you read at the beach I don't go to the beach we'll go to the beach to read this I could not get over how cute this bookstore was they had book pages all over the the walls and the ceiling they had heart lights hanging from the ceiling and I was just in Romance girl Heaven I've been really debating reading the Bridgerton series but I've already seen the show so I don't know if it's like worth it to go back and read the books and they had not in love by Ali Hazelwood which I already own but love her excited for her new book and they had every romance section imaginable which made my heart so happy not just like subg genres but also tropes like they had an enemies to lover section contemporary historical every kind of romance you could want including Romany all right Jack's book haul this my book haul worry is a good reflection of my mental state currently we're like going to these book stores and it's stressful cuz there's 60 people and we have like a time limit it's like like that Nicki Minaj thing like and then this one is going to be funny it's about New York city so I feel like buying a New York book in New York makes sense it's incredible and the covers a moment for the cou Chef kiss one series I desperately need to finish is the atas 6 series I read the atas 6 2 years ago and we gave it five stars and still have not gotten to book two I need to do that I also really want to read Off to the Races by Elsie silver but I'm scared it won't live up to the chestnut spring series and then I 100% want to read more Mariana Zapata and then we headed back to our hotel to chill before our afternoon book activities I'm back at the hotel temporarily it's like 40000 p.m. and we're going to dinner in like an hour and then we have a rooftop party so it's been a great day it's been such a long day I'm such a natural introvert at heart so this year has been so incredibly fun but also like overwhelming for the introvert and me anyway let me show you every book I bought at the bookstores we went to three it was so cute I'm so happy we got to go to the rip Bice like dream bookstore right there and then the other two were also so fun so adorable and I've never in my life shopped with like other booktubers so it it's also so fun to see like what everyone else was buying I went in with list just like a mental list came out with not a single book that was on my list which is honestly like part of the fun of book shopping like just going into a bookstore and just discovering books that you see I got five books I also was like I'm limiting myself to three walks out with five at the first book store I did not get any books but the second bookstore me and Lissa were like we should get one book that's the same book and so we got Summer Romance neither of us read the summary we just saw the cover and we were like this is the one no way the main character's name is Ally and she spells it a l I never ever meet alies who spell it a i it's always like a l l i e or like a y like there's so many variations okay this is fate I'm so happy I got this book okay A little bit of a vague plot but with romance I feel like that's okay like they can just be two people connecting it says that Ally is a professional organizer which is such a fun job but that her life is a mess and that she is a single mom I have recently not even recently like the last year been like really loving the single parat Trope and then she meets Ethan and it doesn't say much about him I like when like a synopsis pulls me in but then it's also like so fun to go in blind but I know it'll be a summer Vibe I know it'll be a cute romance and I know it'll be a good time and then at the ripped bodice the books I was buying went a little bit off the rails okay let me explain this morning Lissa and I went and got coffee just the two of us and she was like asking me if I read dark romance and I was like kind of like I I love the mind series I like Butcher and Blackbird I like the dark verse series but outside of that like I haven't really dabbled into dark romance I say that and I did film an entire video of like reading dark romance for a week but a lot of those were like really hit and miss for me and that's what I was explaining to her so I was like these are the ones I didn't like and then these are the ones I did like where should I begin and so she gave me like four recommendations and then we were at the ripped bodice the remat bookstore and they had all four of those books there and we were like it's fate I have to get them so I may do a part two of reading dark Banes for a week again now that I have these books the first one is kill switch this is the third book in the devil's Knight series the first two books the plots are so entertaining because they're so unhinged I like don't love the characters in those books but she said that this one is the best one in the series so before I completely abandon the series I should at least read this one and I have also heard that I'm glad I saw this and like to get back in the series will be like such a wild ride and I'm ready for it and then I got God of Fury this was the one where she was like you have to read this one I actually have no idea what it's about okay I'm already intrigued it says I'm not attracted to men or so I thought before I slammed into Nikolai a mafia air and a violent monster well I already know in the dark verse which is a mafia romance I like that series Series so another Mafia romance I feel like I will like it okay these next two are a little more unhinged for me so I'm going read if I'm going to like them this is like where I could totally hate these or love them I just don't know but I'm excited to find out so this one is her soul to take and Lissa said this one has a demon and that's all she told me before handing it to me and was like you have to read this one it says a college student has Unleashed an irresistible Darkness a soul hungry demon who might be her only chance at survival I also love college romances so I feel like combining a dark romance which is like I said more out of my comfort zone and then a college romance which I know I love will help it be like a little bit more in my comfort zone hopefully and then I think the last one is the most out of my comfort zone but I'm also just like see the thing about dark romance is it like it just intrigues me so much like even if I don't like it I'm still like this is crazy like I can't look away like that's how I felt with hul like I didn't really like it but I was like I'm still so entertained the last one is cner she's a college student and it's brother's best friend which is always such a fun trope she's also about to become a nun but at least when this book takes place she's not a nun yet at least there's that it says she isn't looking to play it safe during her final month of freedom and I also got a ripped bodice t-shirt I'm so excited I love that it's pink so cute and then we headed to bibliotech which is a bookstore Cafe and Wine Bar and we did a wine tasting in the bookstore which was so cool and then it was dinner time I grabbed dinner with Lizzy Lissa and Lexi and we ended the night with a rooftop party and so much of the weekend we were in such a large group which was so fun to meet so many amazing book content creators but this was such a nice time to just relax and have more one-on-one time and make new friends good morning it's day three the last day I'm just getting ready to eat breakfast and then go to the airport yesterday I went to dinner with Lissa Lexi and Lizzy all the L's I don't think I filmed with Lexi and Lizzy at all in this video I don't know if I've shown them but they are great they are so nice if you guys don't already follow their social media do because they were so fun and so sweet and I will link everyone's social media who was in this video yeah this has been such a cool weekend and I would never be able to do anything like this if it wasn't for you guys so I'm just feeling so yeah
