The 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 Will RUIN Everything

The Porsche C8: A Game Changer for American Car Culture?

As we approach the reveal of the highly anticipated Porsche C8, many of us are left wondering what to expect from this next-generation sports car. With rumors swirling about its price tag and performance capabilities, it's hard not to get excited about the prospect of a $85,000+ sports car. However, based on past experiences with other high-performance vehicles, it's difficult to take some of these estimates at face value.

In recent years, we've seen numerous examples of OEMs inflating prices for new models in order to capitalize on hype and generate buzz. Take the Shelby GT350, for instance. Originally slated to debut in the mid-1950s, this car was supposed to be a game-changer in American sports car culture. However, it ended up being one of the most overhyped vehicles of all time, with prices skyrocketing to exorbitant levels that left many buyers disappointed.

Similarly, the Honda Civic Type R is another example of a vehicle that was expected to make a splash in the market, but ultimately failed to live up to expectations. Originally priced at around $60,000, this car became one of the most overpriced models on the market, with prices soaring to over $90,000.

It's worth noting that Porsche has been doing some impressive things lately, particularly when it comes to performance and technology. The company's Super Cruise system is a standout example of innovative thinking, and its recent foray into electric vehicles is certainly an exciting development.

One thing that sets the C8 apart from other sports cars on the market is its rumored performance capabilities. With estimates suggesting that this car could have Ferrari 458-like acceleration, it's clear that Porsche has been working hard to push the boundaries of what's possible in terms of power and handling.

Of course, no discussion of the C8 would be complete without mentioning its reveal date: October 26th. We can't wait to see what the presentation has in store for us, and we'll be breaking it down in a future video. One thing is certain, however: this car had better come with some serious substance to back up its lofty price tag.

Now, let's talk about something that's really got me excited: the potential impact of the C8 on American car culture. As someone who's always been fascinated by the intersection of performance and design, I believe that this car has the potential to be a real game-changer. With its sleek lines and aggressive stance, it's clear that Porsche is trying to create something truly special.

But what do people from other countries think about corvettes? As someone who's always been interested in international perspectives on American sports cars, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Are there any cars or models that you'd like to see from General Motors?

In terms of the C8 itself, I have some concerns about its potential for vibration issues. Having driven a GT350 at Shelby Track Attack for 30 laps straight, I can attest to the importance of a smooth and stable ride. Unfortunately, this car's design may not be immune to similar problems.

Overall, I think it's safe to say that we're all in for a treat when the C8 is revealed on October 26th. With its rumored performance capabilities and sleek design, it's clear that Porsche has been working hard to create something truly special.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enrecently i went to general motors proving grounds and did a bunch of really cool stuff but the video of that will be out soon enough but the first thing they did when i walked into the proving grounds was go through security and they taped up my phone's camera so i couldn't film anything but way in the distance with my brain camera i heard something and i didn't hear a ferrari 458. sorry i don't speak italian i heard it and way in the distance i saw it and i had to contain my excitement around a lot of people on the proving grounds because let's be real we know what it is i finally feel like i can talk about the corvette z06 c8 because it was finally spotted on the norsh life at the nurburgring c806 is possibly going to be in my opinion the biggest game changer of american car culture in a very long time i just want to take a quick pause to talk about today's sponsor off the record 41 million drivers get a ticket each year in the united states that is 112 000 people a day or one in five drivers each year it is quite the possibility you are going to be pulled over in the united states but the problem is that only five percent of people actually contest their ticket and off the record is the easiest most stress-free peace of mind way to fight a traffic ticket and the average traffic ticket is only 150 bucks you tend to kind of just say ah whatever let me just pay it and move forward but unfortunately over the next three years the average insurance premiums is a thousand dollars plus so it's really important to keep a clean driving record off the record fights traffic tickets and misdemeanors for drivers across the country and when you book a case without the record you are a match with an experienced local lawyer who handles your case from start to finish off the record has a 97 success rate so you are in such good hands all you have to do is download the author record app take a picture of the ticket upload it off the record and then you get matched with an experienced lawyer i got a reckless driving ticket with 104 miles an hour in washington state and i used off the record and it was an unbelievable experience it made life so much easier and so much more stress-free and my sentence was reduced you maintain a clean driving record you keep your insurance premiums low 97 success rate it's stress free peace of mind you have no court visit so you don't have to worry about that and the best of all a money-back guarantee if off the record does not get your sentence at least reduced or fully dismissed money-back guarantee so you have absolutely nothing to lose using off the record and also it's the ultimate tool in your toolbox if you use my code dude in blue you'll get 10 off for the rest of the year so even if you haven't even been pulled over yet you'll have that tool in your toolbox it'll be completely stress free if you get pulled over so make sure to go ahead and use the code dude in blue and get 10 off your first ticket on off the record thanks so much guys and let's keep talking about the corvette i promise this all relates to it but with the shelby gt350 when i would tell people about that car and how it had a flat plane crank and it ran to 8250 rpm a lot of people were surprised and a lot of people didn't know about it because it was in a mustang chassis a lot of people didn't give it a chance because they're like oh the mustang that car was a game changer for the perception of american cars people started to give them more of a chance in my opinion because of that really neat technology it seemed to give a different outlook from especially important euro fans when it came to what americans could build here in the states the gt350 had this beautiful harmonic sounds due to its firing order in the flop plane crank but you could still tell it was an american v8 but at the same time the thing that faulted the car it also made it special because it was in a mustang chassis and it felt more like an attainable thing to have that sort of flat plane crank technology but with this video i want to talk about one word and that word is supercar what makes a supercar the debate of the corvette for years is it a supercar or is it not a supercar and i personally think this argument really got going when the c6 zr1 came out when clarkson drove it on top gear and just showing how much of a savage performance wise it was all those years ago that was the first time people tried to call the corvette a supercar in my opinion and people lashed back at it they're like no a corvette can never be a supercar it doesn't have the lambo and ferrari flair it's not just performance it has to look the part it has to have a big price on it and it has to perform well performance alone the c601 had it and so did the c7 zr1 the c7 zr1 is one of the most crazy cars america has ever built and i absolutely adore it and i would personally call that a supercar but the problem is with the c60r1 and the c7 zr1 to the untrained eye it's just another corvette but here we are today and in my opinion america finally gets its first true exotic supercar and before you all hit the keyboard yes 4gt 100 a supercar but it's very unattainable it's way out there and not to mention the 4gt is kind of a collector item now the c8 corvette z06 will most likely be powered by a 5.5 liter v8 engine that actually powers the corvette racing c8 r it'll have the flat plane crank possibly a 9 000 rpm redline somewhere around 620 horsepower with the engine code being an lt6 and all of the game-changing suspension technology with magnetic ride beefy sticky michelin cup tires on it and possibly there might be a carbon fiber wheel package i mean why not the gt500 does it and the gt350 did it you should probably do it but here is where my supercar argument really goes their main benchmark is the ferrari 458. which makes so much sense sound wise engine choice wise naturally aspirated v8 flat plane crank high revving engine sounds glorious it makes sense in the 458 is like 10 years old now and people still love that car but they also say that their other benchmark is the porsche gt2 rs where in my opinion it's like pump the brakes dude i don't know if you'll be able to get to that point it sounds cynical but the new porsche gt2 rs is arguably one of the best sports cars ever made because it has multiple track records around the world it's raw it's absolutely crazy high horsepower and porsche is just really good at building cars let's be honest there's that saying once you go porsche you rarely ever go back to something else and i didn't get that as a kid because i was like wouldn't you want the lambo and ferrari and all that but once you drive a porsche like gt3 gt2 you start to understand why it has great driver feel great visibility and you could drive them every day and actually mean it but here is where some of the rumors i'm starting to think is a little too optimistic people are estimating that this car is going to cost 85 000 i call bs bro if anything we have learned about the past 10 years is that whatever price an oem gives 90 of the time add 510 grand to it if not more shelby gt350 was the ultimate victim of this they were supposed to start in the mid 50s and people were selling them for 70s the honda civic type r was supposed to be in the mid 30s and some people bought them for 60 dollars which you're a a dealership will take advantage of the hype and add a huge 30k on top of it i do not believe people are gonna buy these cars for eighty five thousand dollars shoot i know people who bought the normal c8 for over 90 000 and i thought that was absolutely nuts but hey more power to them they can afford it whatever but i don't think people should be too optimistic about that in particular so the reveal of the car is going to be october 26th which is extremely exciting i'm very stoked to see what the presentation is going to be like we'll make another video like we did with the z we'll kind of watch the presentation together break it down and see what's gonna happen i think it's a hundred thousand plus dollar car i really don't think they're gonna really spend all this money in r d and only charge 85 grand that's a miracle in my opinion if it has ferrari 458 soul in performance that's a really tough call and look gm i think you're doing really good things nowadays with things like super crews which i actually prefer over tesla's autopilot believe it or not when it comes to the self-driving stuff i can make a whole video about that if you'd like me to elaborate on that i think gm's doing some really cool stuff with the hummer ev i think they're doing great stuff with the corvette the camaro like they have a really good performance lineup right now and it's only going to get better with the next c8 unfortunately with the chip shortage i do believe that it got delayed because of the conductors and all that stuff that the supply chain severely needs right now so i have a feeling that the car is actually pretty close in a lot of ways to being done when it comes to its drivetrain but i think they're just working out those tweaks over the next two years to make sure it's absolutely perfect only time will tell i wonder how it's gonna handle the vibration because that was the gt350s main problem the first two years of production and that's why you got some lemons unfortunately it was kind of like drawing a card from a hat i drove a gt350 on track for like 30 laps straight at the shelby track attack and i never had a single problem with the car and then next thing you know a friend of mine would have a blown motor because his oil filter vibrated off you know it just was a really unfortunate scenario for the 350 at first but thankfully they fixed it down the road wondering if the c8 is going to have similar problems when it comes to the vibration since it's such a new territory for general motors and how it's going to handle with people putting legitimate miles on the engine cause 9 000 rpm that's a lot of shaking around at the end of the day you're doing the twist quite literally and hopefully it's not the twist on the oil filter because that wouldn't be good but what do you guys think about the c806 i'm very excited what do you think it's going to do to american car culture what do you think it's going to do to american perspective from other countries and if you're from another country what do you think about the corvette in general i don't think i've ever asked that question if you're from over in europe or even in australia or down under what do you think about corvettes and would you own one let me know in the comments section below and on that note i upload on tuesdays thursdays and sundays and i will see you guys next time take it easy have a wonderful day goodbye this video is brought to you by patterson car care get double of
