Getting Ready with Me: A Step-by-Step Guide to Contouring and Enhancing Your Features
As I sit in front of my mirror, I can see that my skin tone is quite flat. Unlike contouring, where neutral tones are used to create definition, I'm using a soft blush to add color and dimension to my face. The blush shade I've chosen is called "demure" by EM, and it's a muted pink that will help bring out the natural beauty of my complexion.
The problem with just using neutral shades for contouring is that it can make me look like I'm wearing too much makeup. By incorporating a soft pink blush into my routine, I can add a touch of warmth to my skin without looking too done-up. Plus, as we're all made up of blood and other natural substances, a bit of color never hurts!
With my blush in place, I'm now ready to contour. To do this, I'll be using a select sculpting bronzer in "slip" by [Brand Name]. I'll start by applying a small amount to the hollows of my cheeks and blending it outwards towards my temples. This will help create the illusion of definition without looking too harsh.
Next, I'll use a soft brush to blend the edges of the contour, making sure there are no harsh lines or obvious transitions between different shades. The goal is to look like I have naturally defined features, not like I've been trying too hard to achieve a specific look.
Now that my skin is looking more defined, I'm moving on to my brows. A soft, airbrushed brow look is all the rage right now, and I'm excited to try this technique out for myself. To start, I'll use a small amount of product to soften the inner corner of each brow, creating a natural-looking shape that adds depth and dimension to my face.
As I work on enhancing my brows, I realize that I need to bring some attention to my dark circles. Instead of using a heavy hand, I'll tap a bit of eyeshadow onto my lower lid to create the illusion of shadow and add some dimension to my eyes. This will also help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
With my eyes starting to look more awake and alert, it's time to move on to my eyeliner. I've chosen a dark brown shade that complements my eye color, and I'll be using it to create a subtle cat eye shape. By lining just the outer vee of my eyes, I'm creating a soft, natural-looking effect that enhances my features without looking too dramatic.
As I work on my eyeliner, I'll also be adding some extra definition to my lower lashes by applying a bit of black pencil to each individual lash. This will help to create a fuller, more luscious look that makes my eyes stand out.
With my eye makeup complete, it's time to finish off the look with a coat or two of mascara and eyelashes. I love the way this mascara makes my lashes fan out and add volume – it's like having a whole new pair of lashes!
Finally, I'll take one last look in the mirror to make sure everything is in place. With a bit of blush on my nose and some subtle contouring in the right places, I'm feeling confident and beautiful.
As I finish off my makeup routine with a quick spritz of setting spray and a whisper of fragrance, I feel like a whole new person. The soft pink blush adds a touch of warmth to my skin, while the bronzer provides a subtle definition that enhances my natural features. And with my brows looking soft and airbrushed, my eyes lined in a subtle cat eye shape – it's time to show off this look!
The next step is to take some final photos to capture the finished result. With my hair done and makeup complete, I'm feeling like a total rockstar. The soft pink blush adds a touch of warmth to my skin, while the bronzer provides a subtle definition that enhances my natural features. And with my brows looking soft and airbrushed, my eyes lined in a subtle cat eye shape – it's time to show off this look!
Getting Ready with Me: A Step-by-Step Guide to Contouring and Enhancing Your Features is not just about applying makeup; it's about enhancing your natural beauty and feeling confident and beautiful. By following these steps, you can create a customized routine that works for you and helps you feel like the best version of yourself. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enWelcome back to my channel, everyone. So I have this beautiful ninetiesinspired look that I'm going to show youhow to recreate.Know, I've just been feeling reallynostalgic latelyand I wanted to bring back this erabecause I thinkjust women and people in the ninetiesthey had such a unique look. This was before like filters and socialmedia and everyone just owned their look. And I wanted to bring a little bitof that magic back today. So I'm going to walk you throughhow I created this.Look.All right, you beautiful people. So I'm going to begin with my skin prep.So I find that as I'm getting older, it'simperative for me to invest moreinto my skin prepbefore I do a full face of makeup.Just because makeupdoesn't apply as nicely as it didwhen I was in my twenties.Just like any painting, you want to makesure your canvas is clean and flawless. So I feel so good.I love this cleansing water.I knowa lot of people have their favorites, butthis Mixsoon is really growing on mebecause you can feel that it's very gentleand it does the job really well.Wow. Like, I literally didmy skin care this morningand there's stillthere's still dirt and everything. So I kind of want to walk youthrough the late nineties, early 2000makeup looks a lot of the looks were veryneutral was very matte.I feel like as I'm growing olderit's like this is a look that will workmore with mebecause I'm going to be recreatingthis nineties makeup look the finisheverything is really matte. So my recommendationif you want to play in this very matteand powdered look, is you want your skinprep to have a glacier finish. And so I am going to recreate thatfamous Koreanglass skin look and I'm going to show youexactly how to do it.And I actually found a brandthat has perfected this routinewhere you can recreatethis beautiful finish. And so the brand is called MixsoonIt's actually a relatively new brand.I didn't hear about this branduntil last year.A few of my friendswho are really big into K-beauty,they've been telling methat a lot of the K-Pop stars, they're actively using the productsand mentioning them in like the VogueGet Ready With Me videos, and they were not even endorsedor sponsored. And so that's when, you know, it's legitat first when I learned about the brand,I wasn't really a fan.Just because everything about the brandis about natural, pure ingredients. In the past, a lot of skincare brandsthat were just 100% natural,I just found that it just doesn't workas well. It's not as efficacious.Oftentimes the product doesn'tlast as long because there's moldgrowing on it.They don't useany type of preservatives at all.I think Mixsoon changed my mind on thisjust because one I metthe founder and I got to know more abouthow much passion he puts into the brand. And he even owns a farm that growslike the Centella leaves, for example. It's like in restaurants. They have like the farm to table concept. There's this like farm to skin careconcept that I thought was interesting. And so I respect peoplewho are very passionate about their brand. And if you want to achieve thatKorean glass skin, look, exfoliation is going to be key.But this is not like the ninetieswhere you only had St Ives, you only had these crazyapricot scrubs that are creatingmicroscopic tears on your face.We are way past that. This is the future, and the futureis about gentle exfoliation. And so I'm a huge fanof chemical exfoliation.I do use ages batches, I use lactic acidthat are like 40%,like I'm using professional grade stuff. So when I was introducedto the Mixsoon bean essence,I don't know, I was a bit skeptical.Just because I find that gentleexfoliation doesn't really work on me.I need things that are stronger. But I was so blown awayby the essence and I can understandwhy it became viral on TikTok.You can kind of see hereit hasa texture very similar to snail mucin, and I don't knowif y'all have been following the Koreanskincare trends for years.Like myself.SnailMucin was a huge hit a long time ago.I mean, people were obsessed. When I say people, people in Koreawere obsessed with snail mucinand the idea that a snail, they have this layer over themthat protects their skin,it's literally like a barrier. There's a lot of skin care benefitswithin the snail mucin. And so a lot of these brands that they saythat they are using ethical methodsto extract these snail mucin and that'swhy it's okay, it's fine to use it.But when you actually learn aboutwhat's really happening behind the scenes, these poor snails, they are placed in environmentswhere they are under tremendous stress, whether it's lights, whether it'slike some sort of stimulating machinethat stimulates them to create more.Mucin I was so disturbed when I found thata lot of them, they don't make it.I think this is why I was not reallya fan of snail mucin for a whilebecause I kind of felt like there's no waythey're ethically sourcing literallythe thing that's keeping the snail alivewithout harming them. And so I was never reallythe biggest fan of snail mucin.I've used other products, but I have toadmit the been since changed my mind. You can see herethat it recreates the snail mucin texturewithout harming any snails. So I was wonderinglike why is it called beneficence? And I actually found outthat it's formulated with fermented beans, pomegranate it barley,I believe, pear and like other ages. And this iswhy it's such a great Exfoliator. So before I came to the office,I actually did my exfoliation at homeand I use the bean essence. And so I recommend using this firstbefore you even clean your face.I don't use any cleanser.I go straight to the bean essence firstand I apply it on my dry skin like this.I'll massage it in a circular motionas I'm continuing to massage. There's tiny dead skin that'srolling off my skin and it's so sad. It's so gross, but it's so satisfying. And so this createsa really beautiful, clean canvas. You can rinse it offwith the cleansing water or waterand you'll see herethat my face is flawlessly exfoliated. And so I was so impressedwith the bean essence.I'm a huge fan of harshchemical exfoliation, but I mean, I will say thatthis product changed my mind.It showed me that you can still havea very gentle formulathat anyone can use,and it does the job very well. And so when I have dayswhere I can't really use harsh exfoliationlike my lactic acid and my glycolic acidand the in essence will take its placehow to achieve the glass skin.Look, it's all going to be about applyingthen thin layers of essences.Sometimes I forget the orderI'm supposed to be using them in,so I kind of just go with it.So I'm using first one of the essencesand I apply it with my hands like this. You don't really needto use a cotton pad or anythingjust because it's kind of a waste. It's soaking up a lot of it.So you want to kind of apply it onyour barehands like so, and just pressit into your skin like this. It's already feeling so greatand I'm goinggo ahead and play the other oneagain. It's like splashing this water on my face, but it's not water. It feels likeit feels like a mixtureof like a fatty water.I don't know if that makes sense, but you know how, like, water can sometimes feel likefats has a fatty watertexturevery satisfying. And the last one I'm using is this one.I'm using this one as the last one, like splashing it all over my mike.Like,I'm just pressing it into my skinlike this.Okay.my gosh.So I just applied all the essences.Normally I would just go straightinto my makeup after this, but because I am doing a shootand I want my skin to be perfect,I'm going to apply this sheet mask. And this is not a normal sheet mask. This is actually their soybean milk pad.And what's so genius about it is thatmost sheet mask covers your whole face. And I feel like once you have iton, you can't really do much,You can't talk, you can't eat, and you kind of look scary. This is the method that I've been usingsince I was in my twenties, where before sheet mask really blew upand was more accessible to people,I actually made my own sheetmasks by taking square cottonpads like this, very thin ones, soaking it with essenceand then peeling it into thin layersand then applying it on my face like.So I don't know if I did a video, but I definitely have a photo of meusing this method. And so when I found outthat they have these soybean milk podsand it's alreadyin this form, I was so happylike, my gosh, someone did this andI don't have to look like a crazy ghost.I can just put this baby onand just go about my day.It says on the back that you just needto put it on for 10 minutes. But I find that this stays wet for like20 minutes minimum, maybe longer. But this onand I'm going to make some tea.Okay?I am just going to wait for thisto dry down a bit.Meantime, I'm just going to hang outand make some tea.But at my friends at the office, you look so cool.I want you to see this. It's really amazing.Soybean wearing soybean.yeah, It's soy, soybean. But how do you say it?Like here, Here.Do you see it on my face? Right? Yeah.It looks so good. My face looks so dryright now. I needed it.I was like, Yo, put this shit on.I'm telling you,it's game changer. Spread.it feels so nice.it smells good, too.Really? I don't smell anything. This was like,Whoa, you're really sniffing that? Woo!my God.My head is so big, and it fits perfectly. You know, I get dry around my cheeks,I might have a little rosacea. So.No, this thing is literally a miracle. It's going to calm down, just.Yeah, you'll see itdoes that really great.I can walk around like this is milliondollar shot right here.Yeah, we can eat with this, too, because I ordered food.I'm starving.Hi, James. Are you working on this question?Well, you're working on your project. That's true. This is sort of my modeling for school.my gosh.Yeah. my gosh. You guys go back on the backof the front. Israel. Damn.Okay,I'm going to go ahead and make my team. All right, y'all.I am back in business. So, I mean, it's been 10 minutes, and you could still see how wet this is.And I just want to move on with my makeuplook. But it's very generous. It stays wet for a very long time,so you can go inand just slather it on your neck, your hands, ever. You want that extra moisture?Wow. My face feels really, really hydrated.I find that most sheet mask, there'sthis weird, sticky after texture.I don't know if that makes sense, but you could see hereyou don't have any of that. It's so, so smooth.I love Mixsoonand I've been talkingabout the Bean Essence a lot,but I kind of want to finish my wholepoint on why this is such a weird, unique, interesting product is yes, it'san exfoliator, but it's also an essence. So if you apply this on as an escalatorbefore everything else,it will remove your dead skin. But once you applyall the layers of the essence, you can use it like a traditional essenceor kind of like a hydrating serum. That's the best way for me to describe it.So I'm actually going to use this becauseit does help create that glass skin look.So I will layer iton top of all the other layers. And you could see here it's starting tothe glasses is coming through thatthere's no filter in this video. This is what my skin looks like.I'm not shy to show skin texture because, you know, that's real.Like we all have pores. It's okay.No one looks like what they look likeon face tune, right?Unless you're like a newborn baby.So I'm going to go ahead and finish offwith the bien cream.Basically,my whole skin care is Mixsoon today. One of the team members at Mixsoon, she told me this is actually herfavorite cream. It looks like a thick cream, but once you apply it onit is melt in melted butter. So like most creams can be very heavy, but this is a very light creamthat actually hydrates the skin. SoI highlyrecommendif any of you all are looking fora new skin care brandthat can help you achieve that glass skin.Look, check out MixsoonYou will not be disappointedbecause I am in love.I'm just so in love with with this. Wow.Okay.So you can seemy skin is just glowing, it's radiant, and it is ready finally, for the basemakeup.I will be using a combination of Chanel'sface tint. It's like a skintint mixing it with daydream cushion.EM’s Daydream cushion in gentle light. This has been my go to basemakeup for the past.Like, what, three years?I want a little bit of more coverage,so I'm going to go ahead and mixthis baby up, create like very thin layersbecause you see how this entire timeI've been applying thin, thin, thin layersand this helps prevent that shakiness.Just going to go in and just love it out.Lately, I've been reminiscinga lot about the ninetiesjust because I feel like the whole world'sgone crazy.Late nineties, early 2000.It justit just feels like my safety blanket. And in fact there's this channelwhich I'm going to link right here.I'll show you this person.I think they're able to recordall the old early morningcartoon shows, all from the nineties, latenineties, early 2000s.I would say the past few monthsbecause like I said, the world the world feels likeit's going crazy right now. This has become like my self-soothingroutineis just putting that on in the background. It creates a safe space for me when I'mat home and I have it in the background. The nineties was alsowhen my mom was very youngand I wanted to kind oflike kind of play in that space.I remember those days.Okay,so I don't even know if I need concealer.Okay, I'm just going to do a little bitjust more for himhighlightingbecause I want this area to be brighter. There you go.Okay.So I was giving an update on the milkpads.Yeah. Then you look good. Are y'all doing a mental health walk?Yeah.Okay.I will be here just doing my makeup, so.Okay, base makeup looks good.Pretty happy with this.I'm going to go aheadand now powder my face, so.my gosh, y'all,we are back in stock with portrait mode.We were out of stock the momentwe launched this and back in stock again. This is a powder that gives youthe loose powder finish, but in a compact form.Look at that.my gosh.Okay, so now I'm going to go ahead. And before I actually go into my makeup,I'm actually goingto build the base and kind ofbring dimension back to my face.Because you could see right now it'svery flat, unlike contouring, where you'reusing more neutral tones, blush contouring, you're using a blush. And so I'm using here EM’s.So soft blush in demureand demure is like a muted pink. And I'm kind of just going to buildthis in.And yes, this looks scary right nowbecause it's pink. The problem with just only contouringwith neutral shadesis for me at least,it just makes me look really crazy. And this is why it's so importantto kind of bring in an element of pinkback to your skinbecause, you know, we're made out of like, blood and stuff like that.So make sense into mirrors. Great.Look at that. The thing that's great about so softis it doesn't disturb the makeupunderneath itbecause it's so soft to blend loose. So pretty.Okay,so this is where I can go in with contour.I'm going to contour. You see this? This little, little turkey neck. It's going away by it's gone. And then I'm just going to like Slimmy face just a little more.I mean, practically blends itselflike that.Wonderful.Just a touch of contouring. This is with, of course, select sculpting bronzing powder in slip.I'm using very little. But the nineties, it was all about thatneutral bronzer everyone was bronzed out.I love that lookit's taking tarragonjust focus on here firstto kind of like workand bring to mention this is a techniqueI learned from saying he'slike my favorite makeup artist I know.Just soften the inner corner of the brows. It's all about that really soft, airbrushed brow look.So it's kind of nice to see.The trend is nowsofter with brows in this case.So this is going to be interestingbecause I am doing a very intenseeyeshadow look, but I'm still able to keep it softand you'll see what I mean once I'm done.So this is a warm, neutralpaletteand this is a cooler, neutral palette. So the first color I will be usingwill be a combinationof both Saturn and Timeless. So Timeless will go here.I want to bring the brown up here. This is the Saturn Shade.I'm using this kind of sculpt, the outer view of my eyes.So I'm going to take Saturn againand just apply it to my lower lashes. So I'm going to take the shade sculpt, which is a deep brown, very, very deep brown. And I'm bringing it to the lower lashes, and I'm going to sculpt a smokierangle out and up like that. And this is going to help lift my eyes.Just going to give me that, like, really beautiful cat eye shape.Do the same here.Okay, Sowith eyeliner, this is going to be darkbrown.First, I'm working this and I'mjust lining the outer vee of my eyes.I'm going to use this shade Kronos, and I'm going to keep the colorright here. And with this black,I'm going to go ahead andtight line. And I'm also going to tight linemy lower lashes. So I evened out my eyesand I'm going to go aheadand to my mascara and lashesand these they fan out.So I'm going to go ahead and use this.Nice lashes are done.Basically,my eye makeup is pretty much done.I'm not entirely finished just yet.Just because I want to contour.I know this sounds crazy, but I want to create dark circles,so this is how I'm going to do it.So I'm going to take to mirror againand with an eyeshadow brush, just very, very carefullytap this and just apply it right here.Again, just applying it right here. And this is going to kind ofbring dimension back to my eyesso it doesn't look so flat and all lookreally beautiful in the photographbecause it just creates thislike really beautiful, sultry look.I find it's incredibly flatteringand I'm just going to bring itto my nose, too.Yes, I'm using blush on my nose, but it's going to look nice.I'm taking a little bit of the bronzershadejust accentuating my dark circles. No, we want that vampire look. That's what we're going for.So I'm going to take this off.I'm going to finish off with whisper.Whisper and tender.Okay, So I'm going to go aheadand just finish off with my hairand I'll be right back.Hair's done.Makeup is done, Everything is finished.I'm going to go aheadand take some pictures.I hope you enjoyed this.Getting ready with me.Thank you so much for listening alongand I'll see you on the next video.Good luck.\n"
