**The Teclast Jumper G4: A Budget Laptop Review**
As I pointed out with the internals, we have those four little speakers located in here, so the sounds will come up that way and I expect some of the performance to be lacking. Seven is not going to sound wonderful so it's not great sounding from that now there is software out there that you can use to improve it and I actually run it on my tick last if7, it's called Dear Fix Speakers but you don't have to use that that's a paid program, is also free ones out there.
The difference it can make though to the volume at least. It doesn't really improve the quality but it does at least increase the loudness which they are lacking on the easy book X4 here I have Linux Manjaro up and running, and there's a few things that aren't working so Wireless is working the trackpad doesn't work at all so nothing whatsoever from this trackpad. I cannot control the screen brightness either there's no controls for that so either I need to update my Linux versions for the latest kernels and things like that but it looks like it could be down of course to the new chipset and the new hardware.
To quickly mention the touchpad so the support is Windows gestures, it is a precision touchpad and it's exactly the same as the jumper easy book 3 Division 4 and the 3L Pro. And also the tick last if7. This is a good touchpad all right now to quickly recap but before we do I have it side-by-side with the tick last if7 and this one has the glossy panel which isn't normal, it normally has an matte panel and you can see that when I angle it up like this, it does dim down but it doesn't shift out completely the colors then of course with the TN panel when I do that, you get the idea. This is just the biggest con off this laptop, the rest of it is absolutely brilliant. I feel for the price it is because we've got the same build as the already good Teclast F7, because it's the same OD M so the keyboard is good, it feels just like this one it's quite firm and has a nice typing experience to it.
The fact that it's silver I'm not particularly too fond of because as I mentioned, that depends on the angle what lighting conditions you are sometimes can't see the keys there but being backlit for the 300 other price tag that is really quite good. The other thing is the SSD slot so they changed that now they've enabled or support you could say for all SSD sizes apart from maybe that 20 to 100 that we don't actually really see anything of so that is really good that they've done that, they've improved on that.
Ok it is faster definitely, the performance. The other thing we lose is 2 gigabytes of RAM but we gain the faster RAM so I feel jumper they have on their hands a hope jumper that you're watching this video possibly one of the best budget laptops all they need to do now put an IPS panel in here and give us an 8 gigabyte RAM option, and please fingers crossed keep those power limits open to the end-user because if we want to tweak that up let us do that please because if you do that graphics performance will increase dramatically as I have shown with the Apollo Lakes and with this one. Here I actually run no power limit on this model and it really does improve the performance, it can almost double the framerate in older games so it does make a big big difference there better life more gaming tests benchmarks and I will use this laptop for a week or two before the full review and I do hope to catch you back then and see you in the channel for that.
**The Verdict**
Is the screen a deal breaker? It isn't, it is not if you look at it straight on and that's your intended use then it's not. I can put up with this and in fact, this is going to be my next laptop of go gonna do is I'm going to retire the Teclast Ff7 that really is is how much the viewing angles bother me obviously not that much because I'm not using a screen at an odd angle anything like that but if it does bother you then stay away from this particular model. If you don't like teen panels that is pretty pretty obvious there.
Thank you so much for watching bye for now
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enSo I'm back looking at some new Chineselaptops this is the new generation thatis coming out and no it's not actuallythis model right here that I have infront of me this is the Teclast F7 which turned out to be the best a polarlake laptop so we now have thissuccessor of the Apollo Lake which isthe Gemini Lake there's slightly faster200 megahertz more that's the N4100it's also got 2 megabytes more of cachesupports up to 4k 60 Hertz although Ithink this has only got HDMI our 1.4spec on it so it needs to have HDMI 2and what I'm pointing out there on theside of the video is this of course thisbox has the jumper EZBook X4 in itand this is the Gemini Lake successor totheir older generational laptops soreally just an upgraded version of theEZbook 3l pro now I gets a little bitconfusing but the 3l pro is the 14 inchmodel the EZbook3 Pro is the 13.3inch model now straight away there is abit of a con with this and it's gonna bea deal-breaker for some people it has aTN panel and that means it's not goingto have the IPS colors it's not going tohave the IPS viewing angles mostimportantly so vertical viewing angleson TN panels tend to be quite poor andthey were on the EZBook 3l pro so thex4 now has double data rate for RAMwhich is great it's gonna be a lotfaster but it's only 4 gigabytes not the6 we've got on the previous models andthen as because of double data rate forprices they are to blame there for thatso it is a little dinged around the boxand it looks exactly like the EZbook3 L pros and the jumper is EZbook 3 Probox are the same it's a very thinlight cardboard box that doesn't reallywithstand damage too much which isn'tgreat for exporting us all the way ofcourse from China so in that long boxthere at the top you have the powersupply 2 prong Chinese us-style theydon't have localized versions you cannotget an Australian New Zealand orEuropean plugs for this you have to usean adapter it's rated to 12 volts 2 ampsthere is at least some decent paddingaround as you can see with this foamthat put around the laptop it's outthere and then we do have this usermanual this is in Chinese in English itweighs only one point three five kilosso that's the same as the easy book 3lpro and the tech last f7 more or lessand the thickness is close to fourteenmillimetersso on the left you will find a statusLED micro HDMI out and you can also seehere we do have a USB 3 port and I cansee already there is the exact same ODMso original design manufacturer as theeasy book 3l pro and the tick last f7now the lid is quite firm it does have aprotective plastic on the top of thatnow I'm pressing down quite hard thereis a little bit of flex there and you'llsee there is also the jumper logo youcan see now it's a little hard to see itdepends on the angle whereas on the ticklast f7 there's no logos on the top it'sjust the straight alloy on the rightside we have DC n headphone jack withmicrophones supports another USB 3 portand then our micro SD card slot now thebottom of it has some rubber feet itsalloy again or screwed in place verysolid the build of these laptops theyare good this ODM now a little surprisehere we have a full size to where youcould say 20 to 80 SSD bay here beforeit was just a little flap here that I'llshow you on the ticklers if7 so that's atwenty to forty two size slot and inobviously because they knew a lot of uswere modding or opening them up andinstalling the 22 80s on the EZBook 3Pro but clearly they don't want usinside those that I want us to open itup because there's a little sticker onhere it's a little hard to read but itsays don't tear up but you know me I'mgonna go ahead and tear this right upso the pre-installed SSD is a 22 42 insize so we have a nice large copperheatsink this hasn't changed from theearlier models they didn't run into anythermal throttling so this is good whychange something if it's workingperfectly fine so we have this is forthe backlit keyboard keyboard ribbonthere we have the power cable and thisisor the TN panel these are the LCD cablegoes up there speaker cable there thisis the tiny little wireless AC chipsetso it's Intel 31 65oh and four models out there if you dowant to lower thermals simply placeright here above the chipset a onemillimeter thick thermal pad as large asyou can that will transfer heat then tothe rear alloy case acting as a superlarge heatsink the battery is almost 37watt hours so this is good it should begood for about six to seven hours but ofcourse I'll find out my full review andthen the speakers are located in the tophere there are four gaps for thespeakers so it has four tiny littlespeakers they'll be exactly the samehardware as the teclast f7 so thatactually resonates and comes out through- between the gap and the screen and thebottom base so this I really do likethey've got this ingenious little systemhere this is the first time I'veactually seen this and what you do isjust under the screw here this is thescrew to hold the SSD in place so rightnow it's for the 22:42 size move it herescrew that in place that will then caterfor the 2260 which I happen to have oneright here and then right back here isfor your 2280 side so it's gonna caterall the popular sizes alright so let'sopen it up and have a look at thisbacklit keyboard and the touchpad so ohwow that's more silver than I wasexpecting those keys but I can seethey've got a nice height to themthere's a little bit of flex there butbear in mind that I've actually stillgot the back unscrewed little so that'sthat's not really fear for me - to dothis test right now but no that is goodit's got a good feel to it those keys aswell but the problem with with thesesilver keyboards that I encounteredespecially on the show me the me laptopear the 12 inch model is that sometimesyou can't really see those keys itdepends on the bright lights you've gotthe angle of those lights like right nowit makes it a little more difficult tosee those those keys there but beingbacklit and at this price range ofaround 300 us that is good now thetouchpad this is going to be a Windowsprecision precision one sothey haven't changed that and the bezelsremain exactly the same jeweler amicrophones there you can see the tinylittle dots and a front-facing2-megapixel webcam so the layout isunchanged from the teclast f7 while theodium it's still the same keyboard it'sjust like they've changed the keys andmade them backlit so it really does feelthe same and the same amount of flex andyou notice the difference here I wouldhave preferred them to actually havegone probably just with a black keyboardand then your white back like that therewe go you can see now the differencebetween the two of them now we do havethree status LEDs so power caps lock andyour numbers lock now that screen is atleast matte-coated so unless it's not aglossy + t + panel would be a doublewhammy there it wouldn't be too greatfor that so let's power it up gostraight into the bias if I can I'm justmashing escape whoa okay that's a veryblueish looking screen and it'sflickering away on camera so we can seehere that the viewing angles even in theBIOS said they are absolute rubbishready mean you've got to look at itstraight on as the person the user infront of it you're fine but if youhappen to be showing content to someoneelse that's standing next to you thenthat could be an issue for them you cansee look it goes down to quite darkthere and this right here the magicalsetting if the thermals are good andthey were on the f7 you can simply goalong to the power limit one and you candisable this disabling this willincrease GPU performance I've seen up tosomething like forty percent on theApollo Lake and it gives you probablyabout 10 percent more CPU performance aswell but I'll keep this enabled for nowof course for my benchmarks and testsand everything so here we are in Windowsand I didn't have to set it up firstwhich is unusual so someone had alreadycreated an account I've just gonestraight into it now I don't knowwhether it's the retailer doing this orjumper themselves if you're a little bitunsure then I would do a factory resetbut be careful it could come back all inChinese which has happened to me in thepast otherwise just do a complete newclean fresh install of Windows 10 soit's not the latestversion they're using either so it's notlike the redstone five update there'ssome good news here as well with the RAMso we are running at the correct speedso 2.4 gigahertz dual channel but wedon't of course have a lot of free RAMhere only having four gigabytes insteadof the six we got on the Apollo Lakelaptops the SSD is a b-1 that's aChinese brand and it's actually gotdecent speeds here because normally whathappens with the smaller22:42 ones the right speeds will oftensuffer and here they have a little nowit could be up to maybe about 500 writesyou see for example on a typical set ofthree SSD and therefore k's visit isn'tas well so we've got good speed on thisSSD in under the device manager nothingreally here new to show you because theypointed out before that it has the Intelwireless AC 3165 that is of course withbluetooth 4.1 that one there and thereis our chipset so it's a quad-core intelceleron in 4100 here is the Geekbenchfull result now this is very good singlecore score improvement over the Apollolake in 3450 is approximately 25% thatis really good and then when themulti-core score that has improved byabout 19 18 percent so it is a nice stepup here so back on the topic of the TNpanel so the horizontal viewing anglesthey're actually good I like the factthat this is a matte coated panel sowe're not going to have those annoyingreflections because look at this this isthe f7 this is like a mirror it justreflects lots of things I know I've gotnothing displayed at the moment but theblack there and yes the tick ic7 doeshave a matte screen later on models Igot unlucky with that one the firstbatch so the white balance of the screenit's a little off it's definitely on thecool blue side but this can be correctedin the Windows settings sorry the Intelsettings there for the graphics and Ican't even correct that of course usingsomething like my proper calibratingtool I can use my spider Pro and meshthis but 14 panel the colors look goodthe blacks look good I do like what Isee the problem is now that looking atit straight on it looks perfectbut if I stand up then it's going tolook like that and I'm gonna have tojust keep adjusting that screen but in asitting down position like right now thescreen is super usable perfectly fineand not really an issue and justdemonstrate the backlit keyboard now soit's off to levels so we've got a lowsetting a high setting and then justplaying off which you can see right nowso you just need to hit function spaceso that is the low setting again thisflickering you're seeing just like thescreen this is only on camera and that'sthe high setting which is quite brightthis is really good each key isindividual it and it is really quiteclear now and looks great speaker testtime so as I pointed out with theinternals we have those four littlespeakers located in here so the soundsgonna come up that way and I expect someof the performance to the tickle a stiffseven so it's not going to soundwonderfulso not great sounding from that nowthere is software out there that you canuse to improve it and I actually run iton my tick last if7it's called dear fix speakers but youdon't have to use that that's a paidprogram is also free ones
