Welcome to Another Watch Eat On: Trying Choco Kinako Mochi
Hello and welcome back to my channel! Today, I'm excited to share with you a new food experience that I recently tried - choco kinako mochi. For those who may not know what mochi is, it's a traditional Japanese snack made from sticky glutinous rice. It's usually pounded and shaped into small cakes that are chewy and delicious.
To make our choco kinako mochi today, we'll be using an instant kit that comes with everything we need to create these tasty treats at home. The kit includes two packages, a tiny fork, eight little pucks of mochi, and instructions on how to prepare them. Let's take a closer look at the ingredients and see what we're working with.
As you can see, the mochi is dry and light, with no strong smell. It looks a bit like mint or sesame seeds, which gives me an idea of what it might taste like. Now, let's pour some water onto the mochi and watch how it absorbs it. Ah, look at that! The little mochis have become really sticky and gooey in just seconds. This is incredible!
Now that our mochi has absorbed the water, let's take a closer look at them on the plate. As you can see, they're a bit slimy, which might be off-putting for some of you. But don't worry, this is all part of the charm! The kinako powder tastes sweet and nutty, with a hint of toasted sesame seeds. And when we dip it in chocolate sauce, it's like a match made in heaven!
One thing I noticed about our mochi is that the top layer of chocolate doesn't stick very well to the surface. This might be because the picture on the packaging says to "dip" the mochi in the chocolate, rather than coating it evenly. But don't worry, we can just apply some extra chocolate and call it a day!
As we enjoy our choco kinako mochi, I want to remind you all that this simple kit is available online and at local grocery stores for under $5! It's a great way to try something new and delicious without breaking the bank. So be sure to check out the link in my description box below if you're interested.
But wait, there's more! Today's special treat is actually another snack that comes with this kit - applewood smoked fully cooked bacon! That's right, folks - we'll be trying some crispy, savory bacon alongside our sweet and sticky mochi. Let me tell you, it's a game-changer!
Before I sign off for today, I just want to say thank you all so much for watching and joining me on this culinary adventure.
