**The Art of Vampire Makeup: A Step-by-Step Guide**
When it comes to achieving the perfect vampire look, makeup is key. In this article, we will take you through a step-by-step guide on how to create a hauntingly beautiful vampire-inspired look using makeup.
**Preparation is Key**
Before we begin, make sure your skin is prepped and primed for makeup. Apply a moisturizer or primer to hydrate and smooth out your skin. Use a gentle brush and apply a thin layer of foundation all over your face and neck. If you're feeling extra fancy, use a sponge for additional blending. We'll be skipping concealers today, as we want to preserve the natural dark circles that vampires are known for. Apply a translucent finishing powder around your eyes to set the foundation and create a smoother surface for eye makeup.
**Defining the Features**
Next, let's define the nose by contouring. Select a neutral flesh tone that is two shades darker than your own with a filbert brush lightly run it along the sides of your nose to create an illusion of defined nose. Start blending out the harsh edges to make it look as natural as possible. Also, use a light shade to highlight the nose bridge and blend away.
Moving on to the brows, we want to define them but not overpower the eyes. Use a gray color as a base first, filling it in with a brush, then taking an eyebrow pencil to finish defining it. Remember, your brows don't have to look identical; they're more like sisters than twins. Tilt your head down and measure the angle with a pencil to compare. If needed, redefining your brows will give you the perfect shape.
**Eye Makeup**
Now it's time for eye makeup! Apply a sufficient amount of eyeshadow, this will intensify the colors. Get your eyeshadow ready by selecting a rusty color from the Coastal Scents 88 palette and apply it on your lids. A rusty color gives your eyes that bloodshot look. Start fading the color out to get the color deep inside the socket, creating deeper hollows in your eyes.
Next, fade out the outer V to create a warm undertone. Apply the same rusty color on the lower lash line to almost create dark circles. Take a dark brown shade and apply it along the outer-V of the eye. The deep Brown will darken the rust without losing the rich colors. Start blending the dark brown, digging deep into the hollows to accentuate the depth of your eyes.
Fade out the rich brown now and rim your eyes with black eyeliner. Line your waterline and don't worry if it gets messy because we're going to smudge it later. Line the inner top part of your lid, you want to darken your eyes. Remember, never stretch your eyes when applying eyeliner; it may seem easier this way but you're damaging your lids.
**Smudging and Blending**
Now take a small brush and smudge the eyeliner, creating a slight cat eye. Don't be scared to over-smudge we want those recognized for Amy Bubu. Use Q-tips and twist to remove any excess makeup. Take that fluffy brush and diffuse the black eyeliner with it, blurring eyeshadow.
**Curling Lashes**
Apply mascara to curl your lashes, making them look so fancy! You can imagine a vampire using this on their lashes.
**Blushing and Lip Color**
Next up is blush. Use your stippling brush or a blush brush to apply the product right along the hollows of your cheeks. As you can see my Laura Mercier concealer melted in my car, so start reshaping a more defined edge to your lips by creating a strong Cupid's bow.
Apply translucent loose powder on top of the concealer and really emphasize on the edges. If needed, use a sponge for additional blending. Now apply a wine or black cherry-colored lip color like Saint Laurent lipstick, which is so gothic-looking with intricate details, very vampire-like!
**Finishing Touches**
Finish off your look by applying lip gloss, preferably one that has a teardrop-shaped brush for precise application. Start at the Cupid's bow and follow the edge, powdering to finish if desired.
Finally, add some fangs to complete the vampire look! You can buy these at any Halloween store. Fit it over any tooth you prefer and use denture adhesive cream to stick the fang on your teeth. Fill up the Fang with the cream you don't need too much.
