Smartphones & It's Evolution with Jon Rettinger

The Evolution of Smartphones: A Conversation with John

Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with John and discuss the latest trends and innovations in the world of smartphones. As we sat down, John began to share his thoughts on the current state of the industry. "You know, people are always talking about new technology like lithium-ion batteries and graphene," he said. "But when it comes down to practical usage, not much has changed since the days of the HTC Evo 3D." He chuckled, recalling his experience with the phone's holographic display, which left him feeling dizzy.

John went on to discuss the idea of flexible phones, which he believes could revolutionize the way we interact with our devices. "Imagine being able to fold up your phone and use it as a tablet," he said. "It's not just about functionality, but also about design and user experience." However, he cautioned that gaming-centric smartphones have been a mixed bag, with some devices offering impressive performance at a premium price.

One topic that caught John's attention was the concept of docking your phone to a monitor or device. He saw this as an opportunity for innovation, particularly in the business sector. "Imagine being able to use your phone's processor and GPU while connecting it to a separate display," he said. "It could be a game-changer for productivity and multitasking." He also hinted at the possibility of phones becoming powerful enough to replace laptops altogether.

John expressed his excitement about the potential for innovation in the smartphone industry, particularly when it comes to gaming and performance. However, he noted that the market has seen a lot of hype over the years, with some devices promising too much but ultimately falling short. He cited the example of the Nintendo 3DS, which initially promised holographic displays but ultimately failed to deliver.

As our conversation drew to a close, John mentioned his desire to visit India and experience the local culture firsthand. "I'd love to meet with people who have an appreciation for innovation and technology," he said. He also invited viewers to comment on their interest in attending an upcoming event in India, where he plans to share more about his work.

Finally, John thanked me for having him as a guest on the show and encouraged our audience to check out his work. "I'm really passionate about making a difference in the world of technology," he said. As I wrapped up our conversation with John, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement about the future of smartphones and the potential innovations that lie ahead.

before but every film something together so I'm really excited so let's say John like you also be in the smartphone thing from 2007 onwards now it's like over like 11 years almost friendly as yeah so the whole industry has changed now oh man it's like everything was like the world changed smartphone entry changes like before iPhone in the for iPad and now I think so we are like single blah - do you agree with that because the rate of innovation what users are expecting yes I don't think I just agree that is possible no I need people want every year I want more faster powerful bendable phone it's definitely flattened out I think battery technology here has kind of been the reason that things have flattened out I mean do you remember when the first LTE phones yeah like that was a huge deal LT in the phones lasted for like four and a half me he wasn't a neophyte yeah I don't know that like now law vendors are gonna release but let's see how are we the battery level the FISA phones because we're hearing that the Phi G antennas and stop radios will consume a lot more yeah so I think things got super super flat I think when we saw the note 7 obviously the battery issues the note 7 had a side that was like the last I think like a real real big thing that we've seen that was different now like everybody's changing towards the camera but pixel is just with a single camera okay have with you guys you put three four we do it with the single camera yeah I mean you pretty much be like okay four new phones coming out they're like okay it's got a Snapdragon a 55 it probably has 68 gigabytes of RAM it's got an OLED screen multiple cameras now you in the front-facing camera module that I mean you you know it's like a paint-by-numbers so yeah don't excite me that much no there's a lot more innovation happening in the below flagship that's where you're thinking seeing the mid-range special in India because India I would say the 95 percent the market element range and I see like huge improvements in the mid-range the quality of cameras that we are getting in the mid-range so I've I personally find a review mid-range phones more exciting I mean there's more stuff going what read me is doing it would VEVO blue I mean there's all kinds I mean incredible tech is happening so that's interesting but ok let's talk about the flexible displays flexible phones yeah that's what I happened now so I think it's gonna be something Xiaomi has to be something like long everyone is jumping practical or not I mean so the answer I think is nobody I really want to see it I personally feel like the first two generations will be like everybody is what I experiment with it yeah it's not gonna be anything for a few years but can you imagine like the dream scenario of like having your phone and then opening it up and into your tablet or an airplane yeah like that's cool if they can do it with not making it up like a brick yeah and the TCL is working on a like a wearable bending it's never a bracelet then you can take it off your wrist and open it up and it's a phone no reason like yeah absolute core concepts look incredible I don't know if anybody's gonna use it the battery life is going to be but at least I feel like you gotta give credit for at least trying something new so this year I think so all the major windows except opting may be acceptable yeah we'll be doing good i apple apple that was not touching that anything for Apple just got wireless charging I'm bending you know for for a while but you're gonna see like Samsung LG you know and probably TCL surprising moralizer doing something Xiaomi has also teased something I don't like so that is interesting so according to you like one innovation and smart phone you won't see and like 29 realistically if something I want to see battery technology improve I mean I know that that's a little boring okay but I think what's battery technology improves the innovation is going to start again it's the same lithium-ion battery that's been around for a lot of different technologies and regarding we live but nothing like the theme pile of lithium-ion yeah but graphene and stuff you're hearing a lot of exotic stuff but nothing is like in practical usage we are not saying no and once that happens you start to see for k8k displays I mean that thinking they can do all this stuff now because they're gonna last like six minutes that was like I mean how check out that red phone something I haven't seen it so I it's so while you're here find an AT&T store and go in okay so they have the display set up so and we see it for yourself okay because it probably not gonna be there for much longer okay one would imagine so go go and check it out um where do you see like something like not not not no maybe a full five years holographic displays and stuff I don't know I think every like five years somebody tries but remember like the HTC was the evo 3d I mean the effect was exactly the same oh that's what we saw yeah I had like it made me dizzy I mean Nintendo had it on the 3ds some people just turning it off so I don't think that technology is going anywhere and I think that was read just trying something so let's see different let's let's see as you tell my idea like what do you say flexible phone we like yeah normal phone becomes a tablet yeah if they can do that so what do you think about gaming so using so bending in the notes use it like for a gaming house that'll be interesting a game yeah but again to be frank John last year we saw a lot of phones specifically targeting the gaming thing and by doing that we priced at a little bit at a premium but essentially it was the stop bragging 8:45 yeah you know 8:45 and normally 8:45 will also be decent at gaming and like so do you things like how much is that kind of gaming centric smartphones I don't know I think it's something that's new said razors trying I come freezers yeah you dissipation I yesternight check dot asus rog mmm yeah ok heat dissipation and stuff but essentially it's like it's the same slightly ok 2.70 this is 2.9 days and like so what do you think about being able to dock your phone ah so what about something like that the socket the decks and stuff yeah so they did but I think it's more for business but imagine so they talk about innovation so imagine you've got a duck with a monitor that maybe has its own GPU in it oh and here you put your phone in without me interesting and you're using your phones maybe CPU and you've got the extra graphics power okay I'm not something that we've seen patents for for a while that Kanaya that that's a different thing yeah that can happen actually that way you can if not your phone becomes so powerful that why do you need a laptop yeah he is bringing me bring shells or maybe the shells open up I companies make this happen there's some innovation that ranjit and I can talk about next year okay yeah where we met you know before before unpacked yeah you know we're talking about the galaxy 11:11 yeah let's see let's hope by galaxy 11 something changes so yeah that was if you want to have anything else no I'm just excited to be here I've been admiring of what you do I think the market you've carved out for yourself is awesome we've been trying to make this happen for a really really long time and I'm just excited that rebo we're able to do it and I'm hoping to make it out to India yes yes yes I'm gonna invite you please come to India I would now like we can do a lot of stuff maybe we can do a family dog and stuff yes if apart from that yeah it's fine I have so much respect for for Indian people in the culture I would love to just go and experience it and see it and hopefully so yeah thank you try me put on the list for happening in 2000 yeah I did yeah you have to like because it gets really big you have to like target but if you let one or two cities and let's see cool I would love to make that happen okay cool so yeah that was charmer danger and again I'll leave the link I am pretty sure all of you know or anyways I leave the link in the description area again check that out so I can work John dude it's a
