iPhone Xs User Review - Life After Android

**An Honest Review of My iPhone Xs Experience**

As someone who has owned several smartphones in the past, I must say that my experience with the iPhone Xs has been quite unique. While I've never been extremely attached to mobile devices, I do appreciate the finer details and advancements that each new model brings to the table.

**The 11-Inch iPad Pro: A Compromise for Me**

One of the things that caught my attention was the new 11-inch iPad Pro. I must admit, it's not something I'm too familiar with, as I've always been more of a mobile phone user. However, I did take the opportunity to pick one up and see what all the fuss is about. For me, the 11-inch iPad Pro represents a different style altogether, and while I appreciate its design, I won't be using it for anything too demanding.

**My iPhone X Experience: What I Love About It**

Now, let's talk about my experience with the iPhone Xs itself. I've been relatively content with my current phone, the iPhone X, and I feel like there's not much room for improvement. The vibration motor in this device is significantly better than anything else I've used; you'll definitely feel it in your pants when it vibrates! Face ID has also been reliable since day one, although sometimes the speed variation can be noticeable. One feature that I particularly appreciate is the ability to disable the "require attention" feature, which allows me to unlock my phone without having to look at it directly.

Another aspect of iOS that I've grown to love is the screen's amazing display and its true tone technology, which calibrates the temperature based on ambient lighting for a more pleasant viewing experience. The notch may be large during media playback, but two-to-one aspect ratio videos are becoming increasingly popular, allowing us to maximize our viewing area without spilling over the notch. Gesture navigation is also natural and fluid, with no need for on-screen buttons; I don't miss them at all.

The camera in this device has been a highlight for me, offering excellent natural color reproduction, amazing highlight recovery, and slightly boosted shadows due to its new HDR processing. The 2x zoom feature has proven to be incredibly useful for capturing cool compositions that I often find myself using constantly. Portrait mode works for the most part, but sometimes it can miss the mark, requiring us to dial back the f-stop to save the shot.

**Lessons Learned: Android vs. iOS**

Now, let's talk about my experience with Android versus iOS. As someone who has recently switched from an iPhone Xs to a different smartphone, I must say that the journey was quite rocky at first. The transition was far from smooth, and I had to get used to new things. However, over time, I've found that everything sent me a smoother sailing experience than before. It's almost as if the iOS ecosystem is designed for ease of use, with fewer compromises compared to Android.

In contrast, my Android experience has been quite the opposite. Everything starts off well, but as time goes by, the experience deteriorates, and I find myself constantly adjusting to new things. It's almost like finding a perfect balance between both sides – iPhone or Android smartphone – where each device satisfies more of our own expectations.

**Conclusion: My Take on the iPhone Xs**

In conclusion, my review of the iPhone Xs has been a positive one. While it may not be perfect, there are so many things that I love about this device. The phone's design is sleek and modern, with an incredible display that offers true tone technology for a more pleasant viewing experience. Gesture navigation is natural and fluid, without any need for on-screen buttons.

The camera in the iPhone Xs has also been a highlight, offering excellent natural color reproduction, amazing highlight recovery, and slightly boosted shadows due to its new HDR processing. The 2x zoom feature has proven to be incredibly useful for capturing cool compositions that I often find myself using constantly.

Overall, my experience with the iPhone Xs has been improving over time, and while it may not be perfect, it's certainly a device that I can live with.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enjoin the dark side I caved I'm sorry Icaved but after using the OnePlus 6 forthe past six months I really wanted asmall device and really see how iOS hasevolved since my iPhone 7 days and I'mgoing to be straight it's been a mixedbag with Xs mainly because my ownexpectations were higher than reality soin this video I want to share all my upsand downs with the most expensivesmartphone I have ever bought it trulyis I have asked a few others to join onthis conversation to share their dailyexperience with a X or the Xs shouldbe fun optimize your desk space with theSora's new Graham spectrum TTL keyboardwith a compact steel frame andlow-profile keycaps removable cable andsweet illumination plus your choice ofthe Sora's agile blue or red switches tosatisfy those fingers see if the Grahamspectrum tkl keyboards for you linksbelow so I'm going to lay all my cardson table right away so I love the sizefor everyday carry one hand reachability is excellent there's enough roomfor twosome typing there is still enoughdisplay for entertainment andcomfortable sized font and many wouldagreeI love the form factor the form factorthe iPhone X just feels perfectthere's a ton of screen and a very smallamount of body there so it just feelslike it's made for your hand I totallyagree with David the all screen body isgorgeous with uniform bezels ignoringthe notch of course compared to manyphysical inconsistencies of curves ornotches or bezels on many Androidsmartphones although with the case it isstill quite chunky especially comparedto my similarly sized iPhone 7 the Xsmax the larger variance would be justtoo big for me but let's hear whatJordan has to say hey guys it's Traversconsumer here and I've been using theiPhone Xs Max since it was released andI got to say the thing that I liked mostabout it is the fact that it has thisnice large display that was actually acon for me in the beginning getting usedto it was really hard and while havingthat nice big beautiful display isabsolutely a benefit there can also besome drawbacks with that since somedevelopers haven't updated their apps towork with a new big screen and with thatyou do get some of your content cut offwith a not some developers have beentreating a sense it first got releasedbut there are still some out there whohave it andit's kind of annoying and speaking ofannoying it is just way too easy toscratch the display and the back as wellmany users are complaining about microscratches that appear just gentle use soyou're almost forced them to using aphone case and a screen protector topreserve its condition and thereforevalue if you're planning on selling thisthing down the line and that's probablya smart choice for a little extra gripwhen you hold it and if you like somemusic in the shower so the phone won'tslip from an uneven surface although youcould bring this into a shower becauseof the ip68 water resistance but whywould you now the speaker quality isexcellent but the cellular and Wi-Fiissues are still present with Appleusing Intel chips instead of Qualcomm somy Wi-Fi range on the OnePlus 6 isactually better and many are reportingLTE and Wi-Fi connectivity slowdownswhere the X the previous version of theiPhone is faster with LTE and Wi-Fiversus the Xs and that's kind of abummerthis being Apple's flagship MatthewMonis here and thank you so muchHardware Canucks for having me on Ireally don't have too many iOS relatedissues but my main issue with the iPhoneXs is definitely connectivity problemsI'll be chatting up with Eber we talkingabout Dyson vacuums and a look at mybars and I'll have like one to two barscompared to 4 or 500 device so that'sone specific bug that still needs to befixed on top of that I had to do afactory reset just the first week ofusing this device because I would stillget full bars on my data connectivityand Wi-Fi but no connection was goingthrough it all and to reset the antennasby going into airplane mode I wasgetting constant stuttering with justlike simple animations I would get bugsall over the place where the phone wouldjust freeze the microphone on theearbuds would not be working so nobodycould hear me also a little bit ofcharge game what's happening as wellwhere the phone would not actually startcharging when it was plugged in it wasannoying as expected most of these havebeen slowly patched out for the latestiOS updates but I generally questionedmy decision to get a Xs because of allthese unpleasant shortcomings but as anupgrade cycle for me it made sense sinceI'm coming from the iPhone 7but for newer iPhone users it doesn'treally make much sense hey so I guessthe reason why I didn't upgrade to theiPhone Xs this year coming from theX is mostly price like it's just a veryexpensive phone the iPhone's are alwaysexpensive but I felt like the phonedidn't give a notice we differentexperience from the original iPhone Xlike everything is basically the sameexcept for the camera there's a fewthings that have changed obviously butthe actual usability of the phoneremains exactly the same between the twofrom my personal usage case now I willsay though that if camera is like superimportant to you for me it isn't but ifit is tennis kind of makes sense ifyou're coming from X like you just youknow I mean but for most peopleiPhone Xs what's up guys I'm randomFrankP and I'm still using my iPhone Xnothing that I saw really from the XRor the XS really made it worthy for meof an upgrade and this still works justfine it's fast it's smooth no complaintson my end and if I'm going to want todrop a thousand dollars on a new phoneupgrade I'm gonna want to be blown awaybut what I did do however though to kindof combat that was I picked up the new11 inch iPad pro this is more of mystyle anyway I'm not really a big mobileuser as it is so yeah I'm so contentwith my iPhone X now there are plentyof things that I love that are notfollowed by a negative so the vibrationmotor in here is better than anythingelse I've used you'll feel it in yourpants I guarantee it face ID since dayone and it's been reliable but with somespeed variation sometimes it'sinstantaneous and other times you cansee the face ID page you can disable therequire attention feature so it canunlock without you needing to look atyour phone directly and incomingnotifications will play at lower volumeif you are looking at your phone whichis cool and it's great for app purchasesand password managers it just makes lifemuch easier without needing to rememberthings you know just look at the phoneand be good the screen is amazing and Ilove true tone so it calibrates thetemperature of this screen based onambient lighting for a more pleasantviewing experience it's true that thenotch is huge during media playback buttwo-to-one aspect ratio videos arebecoming more popular to maximize thatviewing area without spilling over theknotch gesture navigation is pleasantand natural to use I don't miss theon-screen buttons and all of myinteractions just feel fluid I love thecamera for thenatural color reproduction with amazinghighlight recovery and slightly boostedshadows because of the new HDRprocessing and have really enjoyed the2x zoom for some cool compositions thatI find myself using constantly and theportrait mode to the most part has thisclean cut out of the subject wouldnaturally simulated bokeh althoughsometimes it's a miss and you have todial back the f-stop to save the shot Iactually prefer the selfie portrait modetoo that delivers a more pleasing imagenow the last bit of my experience withthe Xs has to revolve around us andit's weird how we've all assumed this tobe like a more stable ecosystem becausefor the first two weeks it sure was notthe case we've all heard that apps arebetter optimized for iPhones and Googleeven makes their apps first on iOS butYouTube studio app that an app that Iuse on a daily basis to respond tocomments was lagging so much and it waslike that for a really long time untilthe latest iOS update it is developerspecific I know but still quite annoyingit has been patched out on latestupdates and this is the only instance ofthe app kind of lagging behind or iseverything else Instagram Twitter andall the apps that are used on a dailybasis a running fluid now lack ofcustomization aside you know iOS islocked down like that so we can't reallycomplain but I haven't found any new 3dtouch functionality so it's mainlypointless except for a flashlightintensity disabling true tone forexample and keyboard navigation widgetselection is still incredibly limitingfor example I'd love a steps counterinstead of who's viewed my profile youstill cannot reassign the two shortcutson the lock screen the flashlight ishandy I'll give them that but the camerais pointless since you can already swipeto the right to access the camera atleast the notification system has beenfixed with grouping of items and easynavigation from the notification screenso my productivity with Xsis slowly approaching that of Androidphones and while the Xs charges like asnail unless you give Apple more moneyI've been very happy with battery lifereaching almost six hours of on-screentime on a heavy day wireless charging isof course present and so should yourdesire for a wireless pair of headphonesit's just something we have to accept orbuy the missing dongle and so my entiretennis experience has been improving youknow it was a rocky start in thebeginning but it has gotten better withupdates contrast that to my Androidexperience where it's kind of theopposite everything sent a smoothsailing and over time the experiencedeteriorates and I feel like it's allabout finding an absolute winner betweeniPhone or any Android smartphone butlooking at which side you can settle onthat they'll satisfy moreof your own expectations and right nowthe iPhone Xs is my perfect size phonewith my perfect camera with iOSlimitations that I'll just have toaccept all right guys so that is myreview of the iPhone Xs let me know ifyou've recently switch sides and what'syour experience been like I'm a Dmitrithanks so much for watching make sure
