Dynamic Island and iOS 18: Exploring the Latest Features and Changes

Hey guys, in today's video, I want to talk about Dynamic Island and iOS 18. Yes, Apple has added some new features, functionality, and I wanted to share those changes with you guys in today's video. Although I feel like Dynamic Island could be doing a whole lot more, there are a few changes here in iOS 18 that I think were worth mentioning.

One of the new things happening with Dynamic Island is the ability to access our favorite controls directly from it. If we go into settings and jump into the action button menu, we now have this new feature that allows us to select an action and see that action happening right there within the dynamic Island. To access this feature, we set up the action button menu, and then we can choose from a variety of options, such as capture clock connectivity, display and brightness, home, and my favorite, the Ping option for Apple watch. When we select the Ping option and press on the action button, we see the progress right there on Dynamic Island as our Apple watch is being pinged.

There are also some minor new visuals and updates to the action button plus Dynamic Island with an iOS 18. One of these features is that we can hear the Ping notification on my Apple watch when I'm in dark mode, which allows me to switch between dark and light mode quickly. This feature may seem small, but it's a great example of how these minor updates can enhance our overall experience with Dynamic Island.

Another new feature with iOS 18 is the ability to interact with Dynamic Island in the clocks application. When we set up a stopwatch, we can now send it over to Dynamic Island and see it happening right there. We can pause, play, or dismiss it all together directly from Dynamic Island. This feature may have been available in iOS 17.4 beta 2, but it's now available in the latest update, making it easier than ever to use our stopwatches with Dynamic Island.

In addition to these features, there is also a new way to control the flash on Dynamic Island. When we press on the flash button, we can long press on Dynamic Island and see this new UI that shows us all of our flashes. We can then increase or decrease the intensity of the light by swiping up or down, as well as change the width of the beam by swiping left or right. This feature adds even more functionality to Dynamic Island, making it an even more versatile tool for our daily use.

Overall, iOS 18 brings some exciting new features and changes to Dynamic Island, including the ability to access favorite controls directly from it, interact with the clocks application, and control the flash on Dynamic Island. While there is still room for improvement, these updates demonstrate Apple's commitment to enhancing our overall experience with their devices.

well as you can see right there and this is also available as a live activity on the lock screen of your iPhone as well so yeah something new here a new interaction that was previously available within iOS 17.4 betas it is now here within iOS 18 so yeah this is pretty cool here I think some users may find this one pretty useful now something else that's new within Dynamic Island in iOS 18 is the ability to control the flash the intensity of the beam and the width of the beam of your flash within Dynamic Islands so if you go and press on the flash here and we go into the home screen we can
