**The Art of Luxury: Tips from the House of Valentina**

As we sat in our newly designed bedroom, surrounded by the warm glow of candles and the soft hum of music, we couldn't help but feel like we were in for a treat. Our tip number one, "It's thoughtful," is something that resonated deeply with us as we thought about how to create a space that feels luxurious and inviting. For Valentina, it's all about paying attention to the little details – like having someone think about you, even if it's just your own self-care rituals.

"I love when I take a shower or get ready for bed," she says with a smile. "I make sure to have some calming music playing in the background, and maybe some essential oils or scented candles to create this sense of tranquility. It's these small things that can make all the difference in how we feel about our space." For Valentina, it's not just about creating a peaceful atmosphere; it's also about making sure that every element in her bedroom feels intentional and thoughtful.

Our tip number nine is all about artwork – specifically, the way it can elevate a room from ordinary to extraordinary. "I love art," says Valentina. "And I was really inspired by the architectural prints on my target frames. They had this clean, minimalist feel that I just loved. But what I also wanted was for them to be balanced with something more free-form and abstract – so I stacked them up and created a symmetrical arrangement." The result is a space that feels both modern and timeless.

For Valentina, art is all about balance – finding the right mix of order and chaos to create a sense of harmony. "I think what I love most about this design is how it makes me feel," she says with a sigh of satisfaction. "It's like my own personal sanctuary." And that, she believes, is the key to creating a truly luxurious space – not just in terms of aesthetics, but in terms of emotional resonance.

Of course, no discussion of luxury would be complete without mentioning music – specifically, our tip number ten. For Valentina and her partner, having music playing in their home is essential. "We always have it on," she says with a grin. "It's just something that creates this sense of comfort and familiarity." They have different playlists for different times of day – from relaxing tunes to more upbeat options for game night.

But what they've also learned is the importance of silence – not in terms of total quiet, but rather as a thoughtful break from the constant din of music. "I'm actually not a huge fan of silence," she admits with a laugh. "I love music too much! But sometimes I need to take a step back and just... be." Her partner, on the other hand, is all about the music – he's always got something playing in the background.

As we settled into our cozy bedroom, surrounded by the gentle hum of music and the soft glow of candles, it was clear that Valentina had put thought and care into every detail. From the architectural prints to the carefully curated playlists, this space felt like a true labor of love – a testament to the power of luxury to transform even the most mundane moments.

One thing is for sure: the House of Valentina has a knack for making any space feel special – whether it's through thoughtful touches or more grand gestures. And as we left our bedroom to explore the rest of their home, one thing became clear: this couple knows what makes luxury truly special – and they're happy to share that with us all.

**How to Create Your Own Luxury Space**

If you want to create a space like Valentina's at home, here are a few tips to get you started:

* **Pay attention to the little details**: Whether it's scented candles or essential oils, these small touches can make all the difference in how we feel about our space.

* **Balance order and chaos**: For Valentina, this meant stacking up architectural prints and creating a symmetrical arrangement. Try experimenting with different balances of order and disorder in your own space to find what works best for you.

* **Make music a part of your routine**: Whether it's relaxing tunes or upbeat playlists, having music playing can create a sense of comfort and familiarity that's hard to beat.

* **Don't be afraid of silence**: While Valentina loves music, she also knows the importance of taking breaks from constant noise. Try incorporating some quiet time into your daily routine – whether it's reading a book or simply sitting in silence.

when it's free.(both laughing)Oh my God.- I can't get through this,(both laughing)take number 20, oh my God.(soft music)- Hi welcome to the House of Valentina,I'm Valentina and my husband Jackand I are hanging out in the bedroom.(Jack laughs)Which is not the place wenormally invite everybody to,however, today we wanted tobe able to share with youthis little mini makeoverthat we have doneon our room that has beentransformative for us,it's really been amazingand I did it for free.So we thought that it'd be really funto share some just some tipsand hacks on how to make yourspace feel more expensivebut to be honest I don't thinkthat making it necessarilyfeel high-end or designer likethat's not really our goalwhat we really want isfor the space to feel luxuriouslike it's pampering you.- Yeah.- When we were in that hotel recently, you really liked that.- Yeah down in Savannah.I loved it and it's one of the thingsI love about this yearit's one of the reasons it'svideo is so perfect right nowis unfortunately a lot ofus can't travel right nowbecause of just everythingthat's going on.So we deserve, you deserve to have a spacethat feels luxurious placethat you feel pampered'cause the bedroom guys, let's just be honestit's the first thingyou see in the morningand the last thing you see at night, and so we wanted a space for our own housethat had that feeling to it,and what's was really coolabout these hacks is two things,we did the space really quicklyand absolutely for freethere was zero cost, but the result I'm telling you,I walked in guys and my mindwas blown the other day.I walked in my jaw dropped it,first of all 'cause she looks really good, second of all because the room was amazingand so you killed it like you did so good.- Thank you.- So I can't waitto share these ideas.- This entire thing startedbecause our son needs a bigger bedand I thought, well give him oursand then I thought, what kind of room doI actually want for myselfif I'm going to do that. And I realized I wanted a roomthat had less clutterand felt more luxuriousand I was able to createthis look for free.So it probably will not stay like thiswe'll tweak it some, but itgave us a really good baseline,so I hope that these tricksand little tips here will helpyou look at your own space, maybe you'll be able to do some of them, maybe you can use all of them,it will just be somethingthat will help youto make your room feel more elevated, right wherever you arein the world right now.Tip number one is tominimize your furniture,I know that it's somethingthat I struggle withI know that a lot ofyou struggle with that, there's just way too muchfurniture in your space. And a lot of times it's like,oh well it's full, it's fullwell, I just went through andminimized my makeup stuff,I took a lot of it outand I'm like, okay what do I actually use?And I put it in the bathroomso that I don't have tohave it in this room.- Even in our feelingwhich is really cool,it wasn't just aboutabout the function of it,but it was also how do Iwanna feel in this space? And you realized a wall of furniture, which is what we hadbefore in some of the spacejust didn't give thatfeeling that you wanted.- I knew that it would bother me,when I brought that vanityback into the space,I was shoving it in putting too much inand I just need room to breatheand I think a lot ofyou crave that as well,it's just you want room tobreathe inside your spaceand minimizing your furniture isthe first step to doing that.(both laughing)Tip number two.- Tip number two.Is I'm gonna say a sentencethat I never thoughtin a million years that I would say, which is we ironed the sheets.- Okay, he didn't, I did.- Who would ever do that?- I would never expecthim to iron the sheets,it's just that I know that I like a...We were just at the hoteland they had the sheetsironed and so neat, this feels so luxurious. And you can iron your sheets for freeit doesn't cost you any money, just a little bit of sweat equity.- But they really don't make you thinkabout a hotel bed is crispis like perfectly shapedand you had that image from a catalogthat we were looking atand we realized the keywas the way things were foldedand how straight and likecrisp everything was,so I literally walked in the other dayand she's got the iron outon the bed ironing sheets.- Yeah,- And the difference itmakes I'm telling you,I never thought I would say the phrase, but the result is outrageously cool.- Yeah and it's not likewe're gonna iron the sheets every dayand I will admit that Iclimbed it very carefully(Valentina laughing)and climbed down verycarefully the next day.'cause it was like, oh Idon't wanna mess it up,but that day that's done, you get that like for a day.(Valentina laughs)- It totally makes sense.- It's just our personality, you can take that one or leave it.Number three is that Ilove to spray the linensthis is not news for those of youthat have visited the site before, you know that I justlove to spray the linenswith something thatjust smells really good,it just feels expensive, itmakes the room feel luxurious.- Well, we value smell everywhereso the house has candles, you have a tendencyor a practice of puttingon a little Chanelevery night before you go to bed.- Giving away all my secrets.- I know.(Valentina laughs)But the coolest thing is andI walked in the other nightas she was like ironing the bedwhich I thought, well that's weird.(both laughing)She was ironing thatbed but then I was like, what is that smell? It smells amazing, so what isthe fragrance that you use?- Yes, I still love that French sprayso even though we've minimized the room,it's got a little bit more ofa modern Scandinavian feel,we're still bringingthat French feeling in,and that is through that spray. And I'll put a link below for what I use,but lavender is another one,it actually does affectthe way that you thinkand the way that you feel in your space. So if you're having trouble sleeping, which I know many of us havewith everything that's been happeningcreating a space that's very relaxingand soothing is a great wayto make your spacereally function for you,but also feel really good.- Tip number four isto minimize the stuff, literally the other night I walked pastand stuff was just moving outfurniture was out on wheelsand moving trucks there wasstuff, it was crazy things.- It's the hallway things, literally everything's likeflying out of the cabinets.- Yeah, it was it was crazy.- I just get in thosemoods where I'm just like, there's just too much stuff,I don't like it when I opena cabinet and things fall outand I just don't like messinessand it makes it the space feel chaoticand I just wanted aspace that felt very calmand I realized I hadall these sheets storedin the cabinet which Ican barely close a door onand none of them fitthe pillows for the bed,so why do I have that stored in there?- Well again it's the firstplace we see in the morning, the last place that we see at night,so it's important to have a spacethat feels calm and it feels soothing,so the smell plays into that, but also the amount of stuff you seewhen you wake up to like, which I love, I love all thelittle collectibles we haveand all the little, what's the word schlot--- Chot- Chotskies not Schlotzky'sall the Schlotzky's around, chotskies?- You're gonna make me hungry.- Chotskies.- Chotskies.Yes.- That's the word?- Trinkets- Let's call them trinkets, but I love all that stuffbut at the same time,it can just start to feel a little much.- Yeah Ithink that's why hotelsa lot of times they feel very high-end isthat they don't have alot of things in themand that really puts the focuson what you do have in the spaceso you really want tomake sure those thingsare awesome and that there are thingsthat really just have your styleand a kid that actuallycloses his door sometimes.(both laughing)- Yeah, that helps.- We have our son'sstuff's still in his roomso it's a little extra, but he just loves coming to our space.- Yeah, it's sweet.- Yeah, we probably shouldmake him do his stuff upstairs.- Probably he's 25, but yeah.- He's not.(both laughing)Tip number five is tominimize your pillows,if you think about when you go to a hotel, you look at rooms they havea very high-end feelingthey don't have 900 pillows. My mom's gonna die becauseshe loves her pillowsand she's gonna say all thosepillows make it luxurious.- When we stay with her ittakes 20 minutes to get to bed.- They literally go all the way down, three quarters of the way.- If you fell out of an airplane, you could land in there andyou'd walk off you'd be fine.- It's true, she loves her pillows.- She does.- So for those of youthat love your pillowsand that makes you feel more luxurious, please just keep yourpillows and enjoy them. But if you really want theroom to feel more expensive, think about minimizing your pillowsand making sure that yourpillows actually match. So you wanna have thesame width of pillowsand maybe you can eitherstack them on top,we need to do a separate videofor how to like fix the bed, there's a few ways you can do it,but you really justwanna make the matchingand I did iron them becauseit just makes them feel niceand neat and not like.- Yeah.Messy.- Messy.- Now tip number six is actually inspiredI think by the way you dressbecause it's talking about accent pillowsyou do an amazing jobof always having likethese little cool piecesof just the perfect amountof jewelry in the right spaces,so accent pillows to me arelike the jewelry of the bed.- They really are.- They really are.- And I've gotten towhere I started minimizingeverything around me and Iknow you guys have seen medo the little karate chopwhere we fluff the pillows, then we chop them but this time I wantedit very minimal and very clean. So instead of doing the karate chop,I just left them very flat, like very straight and verymodern feeling and very minimaland what that does is itgives you that hotel feeling, you could still do the karate chopand that would be veryluxurious feeling as well, but I just needed something minimal.- And dangerous, slightly dangerous.- Yes.- Well, and they're they're velvet, right?- Yes- So that's a great contrast.Yeah, these are from an amazing companyI'll leave the link below for you, they have no piping on them, they don't have a bunch of extra stuff.- Yeah it's really clean.- So if you like a minimal high-end look, that's how to get this looknow for those of you thatprefer something more classic,it's totally fine keepdoing your karate chop, that looks expensive too, it'sjust this was our preference.Yeah.- Yeah.- I always like to bringgreenery into a space,I know that it's notsomething that hotels do,which for many of us that'swhere we think of luxuryand a high-end bedroombecause they want youto feel like you've beenpampered when you come to visit. But I really like to add greenerybecause it brings life into this spaceand that's where I thinkthat hotel rooms fall shortwhen it comes to making theroom feel really expensive.I like to add greenerywhether it's a plant, you guys can watch the videosthat we've done in the past about plantsthat are easy to keep aliveand really good fakes. But this room has easy plantsand even the little schefflerathat was completely free, one of my friends gave that to me.- That's my favorite name by the way,I wanna change mine Jackschefflera, Jack scheffleraisn't that cool?- Yes.- What I love about the plants isthis room actually has a giant bay windowoverlooking the garden so in many ways,it's like you've broughtpart of the gardeninto the house and it justmakes it feel consistentand I love that the plants you choseare a little more whimsical,a little more tropical,so it was a little bit of acontrast with our room itself.- It adds a lot of softness in lifebecause we did choosesomething that is more minimaland modern and it justmakes it feel approachable.I know a lot of you have saidthat you struggle with okay,we've got this very minimal thing, but now it doesn't feel like homeyand this is a good way to make your spacestill feel expensive but homeyand approachable as well. The way that you light your space,it's amazing how it can really changewhether a room feels high-end or not.First of all, if you canactually see in the room, that's always a good start, right? But a lot of times we put lightsthat are too little into a spaceor the scale is a little bit too smallfor the size of the roomor the size of the bedor we don't put enough around the spaceand there's like one lampor one overhead light, overhead lighting typically can havea very harsh feel to it,you can put those on dimmersthat's another great tip for you.- The key to lighting actually is shadowsan elegant kind of that classy room, there's gotta be a little bit of mysteryand so the lighting really helps with thatand I will say we wentcompletely free on this, but we do have our eyeson some other lightsto add at some point in the future, just to kind of take it over the top, especially related to art work and stuff.- Yeah, this was just a freebie roomthat we were able to createwithout having to go anywherebut I think that we're gonnaput together a full roomthat is our ultimate bedroomand then we're gonna startworking our way towards thatbut this was just a great way for usto see what can we do with $0.The other thing that youdefinitely want to think aboutwhen you're lighting yourspace is to add candlesthat you've probably gotcandles sitting aroundand I think that we forgetto light our candles, and I think at night whenyou light your candleand you get the room smelling really good,it makes it feel veryhigh-end and luxurious, but you probably already have all of 'emso it's free to youbut it feels like such a pampering of it.- It is thoughtful, it feelslike someone thought about, even if it's just youthinking about yourself,it makes it feel thoughtful.- Absolutely so we definitely, right now we're burning theone from the Hotel (mumbles)where we stayed, they hadtheir signature fragrance. It's my dream to havea House of Valentinasignature fragrance one day,but we also have a reallycool one called Road Trip,I'll leave the link for that as well, these are amazing fragrances,it makes the room smell so good.- Yeah our tip number nineis all related to artwork, you took my breath away whenI walked in the other daybecause I wasn't expecting.- Thank you.- I mean you do every day,so by the way, you never saythat to me I just realized.(Valentina laughing)21 years never heard that.- Yeah you take my breathe away.(both laughing)- Yeah, signature fragrance.(both laughing)- Yeah.- No, but the artwork isamazing and artwork mattersagain everything you see,you smell all that good stuff mattersso I love the artwork that you did.- I had a lot of fun with the artwork,I was just, again I was in this mood,I've wanted minimal, Iwant a minimal luxurythat's how I wanted this to feel.I happened to have some ofthese target frames alreadyon hand and they have anarchitectural print in them, this is actually howthey come from the storeI really liked the architecturalfeeling of the printinside of it but I alsostacked them evenly on topof each other and gave it avery tight symmetrical feelto where the room justfeels very done and crisp. And I really love that feeling, but also balanced that withthe art piece behind us,where it's a little bit morefree form it's more abstractand I've even gotten an art piece,it's leaning on the cabinet, all those kinds of things play togetherto make the space feel very high-endbut if you've watched any of our videos,we love to DIY our artwork. So I'll leave some links belowfor how you can createyour own DIY artwork, because we want you to be ableto do it for free afterall, this is a free makeoverso we'll empower you to do thatand we'll definitely somelinks for you for that.- Our number ten tip isall about what you hearand that's the music, wealways have music playingin our house literally nonstop.- Sometimes I would likesilence personally, but yeah.- Not when I'm around, no silence.- No silence ever with this guy,he's always got music playing.- But it sets the tone, wehave different playlists,we have our Sunday morningplaylist, our game time playlist.- You have those. (Valentina laughs)- Yes I do.- But same thing with our room, like we wanted a space thatagain it feels thoughtfulI think that's what I'mrealizing about luxuryis that actually it just feelsthat there's a thoughtfulness.- Like someone has thoughtthrough everything for youand you can do that for yourself as well.- Yeah, so we have the Sonos system,we have it all throughout the houseand just being able to walkinto your bedroom after a long day of workand even if you were justworking three feet awayin the living room butbeing able to walk inand you smell there's candles,it's pretty, the lights are litthere's a little bitof Frank Sinatra goingor some Ella or somethingthat changes everything.- I think so.Thank you so much for stopping byand hey you were in ourbedroom with us today.- You're not welcome backlater, is all I gotta say.- Stop, yeah so anyways,(both laughing)thank you so much for joining us.I hope that you'll hop over to Instagramand follow us on both ofour accounts over there,we have our personal oneand the House of Valentina Instagram. We also have a Facebookgroup that you can join,we hope you'll give us a thumbs up.- Hit the bell, hit the little bellbecause then that way everytime she puts up a new video, you'll get notified of itmake sure you subscribe, leave us a comment down belowand again, if you redo yourbedroom over the next few days,as a result of this video, jump over to Inspired by V on Facebookand show us some pictures of it.- Yeah, we love it when youguys show us what you doand we love it when you leave comments, tell us if any of these tips are onesthat you do in your own home, maybe you have a tip thatyou wished that we'd added inand you're like, \"Oh my goshthey should have said this.\"Add it in we wanna hear itwe love hearing from you guysit really is amazing that weget to be together like this,I absolutely love it,I'm really enjoying our virtual servicesthat we've started to offerI'm getting to meet you guysand you're literallyfrom all over the world, call in, you guys are callingus from all over the world. We love getting to visitwith you in your homes,so if you're interestedin the design services, hop over to House of Valentina, check out the design services page.I'll leave a link below so youcan find it a little easier, you just sign up for an hour,we get to hang out on Zoom togetherand you get to ask all yourdesign questions, it's awesomeand if you have bigger projectsyou want us to work on,you'll also find all theinformation there as well, because we love being ableto do this for you guys tooand being a part of your projects,a part of your homes it'sjust the most amazing thingin the entire world to get to do that,I just love it, so thankyou so much for the honorand the privilege to be apart of that with you guysand I hope that we'll getto see you in the next one.- Bye- Bye.(both laughing)\n"
