I've spent years restoring and modifying my trusty old truck, and I've gotta say, it's been a wild ride. None of those recoveries were super difficult, and I mean, I felt like a kid on a bicycle could have done that traverse. The jeep was a little more dug in, but still only required a minor tug from the big girl - you know, my trusty 4x4 vehicle.

But something's been going on with my truck lately, and I think it might be something that needs to be fixed. Take a look at this - over 22,000 miles on it in just one year is no joke. My truck does everything: it goes on every family trip, it's been to Colorado, it's been jumped, launched about a million times... it even tows and hauls like a pro! And let me show you what we're dealing with right now.

I've had this issue for about five minutes, and I'm not sure what's going on. It's mostly fine, but take that off under the cover - you'll see why. There's a slight rattle, an intermittent grinding noise in there that's been bothering me for two months now. At first, it was very faint, and I thought maybe it would go away, but now I think it's time to get my truck looked at. Something's gotta be broken or worn out, and I don't want to ignore this.

I looked at the footage, and I think you'll be able to hear that pretty well. It's not a light tank, but there's definitely some noise going on in there. And I have to say, it still works fine - nothing has ever broken on my truck, and I've done nothing but abuse it since day one. But now, with this new noise, I'm getting a little worried.

I was talking to Steve from Ripper Tuned the other day, and he thinks it might be the blower snout blower bearings. If that's the case, then what do we do with the old supercharger? Maybe strap it to the Blazer - can you imagine that? It'd be pretty cool.

But seriously, if that tensioner lets go, your belt's gonna fly right off - and I don't just mean a little bit of flailing. We're talking about flying belts here, people. And trust me, I've never driven fast or done anything reckless with my truck, but accidents can happen. So, yeah, it's not something to be taken lightly.

And let me tell you, my truck is getting up there in terms of mileage and wear. Maybe it's time for an upgrade? I've been thinking about maybe ordering a new one... but I don't know - I'm attached to this old girl.

I kind of threw around the idea of getting a new TRX or even a Red Eye, but what do you guys think? Should I just go for it, or am I being too sentimental about my truck? Let me know in the comments!

help us at first i don't know it's just bizarre the other family was totally good but what people don't realize is how soft the sand is here at the outer banks it's crazy soft it's not like new york or florida um you know where you have packed beaches you can drive a car on easily this is you sink immediately that traverse there wasn't an all-wheel drive if it had been all-wheel drive they might have been okay but cars have a very skinny tire fully inflated they sink and if you don't have all four wheels gone and a lot of times even if you do you can sink in this sand so freaking easy it's so easy just right off the road and you can be and if you even just gun it a little bit while you're in there you can be down like a foot before you know it within seconds so it happens all the time this is all organic you know i don't fake recoveries i do them like a couple times a year because this is i you know when i come across them i'm here on vacation it's really it's really that easy like if you drove up and down the strip you would find three or four a day easily i already found two but yeah so that's uh yeah three the van wouldn't let me so three but yeah that was fun a little backstory
