DOLLAR TREE DIY _ Christmas Advent Calendar _ Days 9-16

A Cozy Advent Calendar: A Fun and Creative Project

I recently embarked on a fun project with my little one, where I created an advent calendar using small bags and decorated them with cute themes. Each bag represents a day leading up to Christmas, and I got to be creative with the designs, making it a special bonding experience for us.

For our first bag, we chose a winter wonderland theme, which featured a deer, snowflakes, and other festive elements. I used hot glue to attach the deer to the bag and added some peppermint candies from my previous advent bear set to make it extra special. We also included a note that said "PJ day" with instructions to grab a peppermint mocha from Krispy Kreme after dinner. This was such a fun surprise, and I loved how it brought out the excitement in my little one.

The next bag was for December 15th, a Tuesday. Inspired by the sticker book I had purchased from Michael's craft store, this theme featured Santa soda fountain stickers that were incredibly adorable. I chose two pieces of scrapbook paper to match the theme and added some silver foil stickers for extra dimension and layering. The bag itself became a movie night bag, with fun snacks like popcorn, baby snacks, and drinks added to it. To make it even more special, I included a list of reindeer names, including Cupid and Prancer, which my little one loved.

For the last bag on December 16th, we decided to focus on a woodland winter wonderland theme. This was the most intricate design yet, with a main piece of paper featuring a beautiful forest scene. I punched out circle cutouts from another piece of paper to add some extra texture and interest. To make it special, I included some fun items like makeup brushes, dollars, and lip balm that my little one would enjoy.

Throughout this project, I was struck by how much joy and excitement my little one brought to the process. Watching her open each bag and reveal its contents was pure magic, and I loved seeing her face light up with delight. This advent calendar has become a cherished part of our holiday tradition, and I'm so grateful to have had this experience with my child.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys so today I'm so excited that I'm finally getting to share with you guys my days 9 through 16 at my Christmas advent calendar do-it-yourself I think it's so simple especially if you have a lot of scrapbooking items and stickers and stuff like that then that should really come easy and free basically because you have it on hand if not this is still a really cheap way to do things because you can get a lot of this stuff at the Dollar Tree and I think Christmas stuff is all 50% off right now at Hobby Lobby so you just need like a like a booklet of scrapbook paper from like Christmas themes and stuff like that although there is another really cool way to do an admin calendar to do it like super cheap and quick and still be fun is to just do a mason jar and add little action cards inside of it so you just take a mason jar write out little cards you know of what you're gonna do and stuff like that and then just put them in the mason jar and then just draw them you know by the day but today I am on a day to this is what I made in my first video days 1 through 8 which I will link down below if you have not seen that already this is day 2 and this one I will make card for hot chocolate run at Starbucks for my daughter and I and we did that right after school so I've got my hot chocolate and date who is done and absolutely love this bag I will be saving all of my bags and putting them up with my Christmas decor and then next year I'll already have my bags all over again day 17 through 35 35 burrell day 17 through 25 will be my third installment of the series of my DIY Christmas advent calendar and I will be putting that up in a couple of days so but I won't go ahead and tell you that there are still a couple of items that I need to pick up and put inside of the bags so you do still have some time to get some of this stuff done at least if you get a couple bags done in advance and then you can do you know a little bit of shopping here and there if you want to just put in some cute little treats you can get all this stuff at the Dollar Tree you can go to five below you know there's lots of cheap items at Walmart as well little stocking stuffers that can go in these little bags and if you don't want to buy anything just right action cards of things you can actually do so if you want to see how I put together days at 9 through sixteen then keep watching and I'll see you tomorrow bye starting at December 8 which is a Wednesday and I'm taking my personal calendar into consideration I have pulled a couple of items already I wanted to do a Grinch theme it's one of our favorite movies I love Jim Carrey in this and I figured it would be really cool to decorate one of the advent calendar bags with this theme I went ahead and pulled out some items that I thought would go really well with this I printed this from my computer I just went to Google Images and searched for the Grinch I put this on more document and print it out and cut it down and then I liked these stickers from my collection I've hauled this before one of my videos in my Hobby Lobby haul and I liked it because I liked the string of Lights the Christmas tree and the presents they're all really kind of like dr. Seuss II so I thought this would be great I also picked out some little green patterns from my scrapbook paper book and I also used some glitter glue to apply green glitter to this Dollar Tree clothespin this was in my last video I just decide to do a couple of green ones cuz I like green as well I pulled out some of my red sticker letters to maybe say Grinch in December 8th or whatnot and then I just have some random green at pieces of paper just in case so again the first thing you want to do is hold over the top so that you don't work over the top because you are going to fold it over to close it I'm going to do exactly what I did in my first video I'm just going to take my scrapbook paper and cut it down I have no specific measurements I'm just doing this freehand basically okay so I cut it so that the Grinch print out would go on top of it and then we are going to apply this to the front of the bag to use my crafters tape this stuff works really really well before I add my stickers I just want to punch out a couple of these I think I may want to spell Grinch now I have enough to spell out Grinch and I'm going to just tape the back okay now I'm done and I realized that I said December 8th but it's actually December night so I'm sorry this is December 9th which is a Wednesday I believe and okay so I got my little circles down here and I just want to take these little block letters D I got these from the Dollar Tree and I'm just going to put crunch now that is done and I think I want to start adding some stickers here I definitely do like the tree I think that looks really cute there okay I think that looks great now we just want to indicate that this is December night so I am just going to take another block and put it right here so that's done I think it looks so good I can't believe how cute it actually turned out so now it's time to decide what's going to go in here now sometimes plans do change and definitely try to take your calendar to consideration but if things do change that's okay you can just take out some of the items in your calendar and switch them around that's not a big deal it's supposed to be a really fun time no pressure no nothing so for this day it's a Wednesday and I'm thinking we're gonna have time to watch The Grinch movie now I actually don't have the case for it just because I keep all movies like an ACD container but I'm gonna go ahead and put this back in my CD container but I know that that means we're gonna watch this movie another thing that I also want to do while watching the movie is eat drink our Grinch punch I actually made this last year that we absolutely loved it so I'm going to put just the recipe in here for me to use when it's time to make the Grinch punch now if you're wondering about this recipe I actually made it on one of my Halloween videos it was at the I think it was like a monster one-eyed I don't remember what the name of the drink was but I will link a picture of it in there and if you want to get that recipe it's in that video it is the same exact thing it's except one was just for Halloween and this one's for Christmas so there's not a difference in the actual ingredients now I've cut my recipe I also decided to add a cute little sticker here at the bottom as well and it's ready to go inside of my bag I can also do like movie treats and popcorn stuff I'm actually going to be doing that in one of my other bags but for this specific night I'm gonna limit the treat to just the Grinch punch this is the cutest bag okay so December 9th is finished for a December 10th which i think is a thursday i was inspired by the sheet of stickers of these cute nutcrackers so I'm gonna do an entire bag around this theme it's gonna be pretty simple I'm gonna put it just on a white piece of paper this is printer paper I am going to actually utilize one of these little bows I got these from the Dollar Tree has a little bell inside of it I pulled some of these stickers out I wanted some bigger numbers for my bags some glue dots and I also picked this up from the target dollar spot I thought these were really pretty and I think those extremely well with the stickers glue dots you can find these at a craft store a Dollar Tree I love these I have mine from the Dollar Tree and they actually hold extremely well so I'm gonna put this just in the center and I'm going to put my bow on top of it and it just holds very well so it's almost kind of like what we're doing is making a pattern paper because usually stickers is always the last thing to go on so before I add my stickers I am going to make some sort of a pattern with these pieces of tape I'm gonna do another one I like it I'm gonna do it and put him right in the Sun just put it right here I wish this red was a little bit shinier to match but that's okay suddenly realized ten and drummers drumming liked the song so for this day it's a Thursday I'm not really sure what's gonna be going on we aren't going to be getting ready for a competition out of town so I'm gonna try not to do anything that's a little bit too much so I may have some stuff going on there so you know what this is a great opportunity fuzzy socks my daughter loves it Christmas socks her and her teenage girlfriends love Christmas socks I thought it'd be fun to also add a fuzzy glove I got this at the dollar tree so I'm just going to throw this glove in here and if I see some fuzzy socks at the Dollar Tree that are Christmas I'll probably throw those in here as well or I could add like a dollar or two because I am slipping a couple of dollars here in there throughout some of the bags on and seal the back like this and a ten is complete for my December 11th bag I think that's a Friday we are going to be heading out of town so I'm just gonna make this one really simple I'm gonna take this little ornament it's actually from the Dollar Tree is a blue dot here in the center and I'm just going to press this down firmly make sure that it grabs the glue dot okay so now what I am going to put inside of it just based on my specific and personal calendar I'm going to add apples to apples figure this would be a great little reminder that she can have fun in the car while we drive to go out of town as my December 11th bag is complete for December 12th which is a Saturday I think I hope I was really feeling inspired by this Santa sticker I got this at Hobby Lobby 249 it was 50% off it comes with a nice large and he says in the back and I was also feeling inspired by this washi as well from Hobby Lobby so I am definitely going with those two things in mind I picked this piece of scrapbook paper out of my book I have these chipboard alpha stickers from the target dollar spot and I also have these labels from the target dollar spot as well that was a dollar so I love these because I have the black in it so this is going to be like a red and black bag so I'm gonna go ahead and get started so I grabbed one of the labels from this gift tag set and I don't want the to-and-from but I do love the black with the white snowflake don't really decorate at the bottom so I'm going to add this to the bottom and then I think I'm going to add the 12 above it okay now I'm working on a little car that's gonna go inside I just took the remainder of this piece of scrapbook and I wrote on the back paint our toes on the light punch I'm just going to jazz this up and add the same washi to the front four okay now I am going to add my car to the inside some nail polish as well now I am going to take this little clip it's from the target dollar spot has a cute plaid Christmas tree to it and I figured it went really low so I'm gonna seal the bag with this and December 12th is done December 13th is a Sunday and I really loved the last bag I love the look of the red and black so I'm gonna kind of do another one similar to that I was feeling inspired by my little cute reindeer clips there's four of them I may use all of them I mean screw them in on top of sure yet and I'm gonna bring back the same washi I actually have some other black plaid washi I'm gonna bring in as well got this plaid washi I have this polka dot washi this one's from Hobby Lobby this one's from Target so our spot I also have a chalkboard masking tape so I thought this would be cool and I pulled the little reindeer guy from my decorative ornaments from the Dollar Tree and I loved these 3d stickers from the target dollar spot they were a dollar I picked out this piece of scrapbook paper and I've got my black chipboard alpha stickers again and my black sophisticated gift tags from the target dollar spot I'm going to add some fun socks to this bag my daughter loves socks and these are super cute these are from tarp of dollar tree those are cute here are some cute Santa ones I was so cute I honestly did not expect for it to turn out that cute but it did smudge I accidentally smudged it so December 13th is complete what has inspired me to do this specific bag is actually using my plaid wrapping paper that I used to wrap our presents which I actually haven't done yet but I digress so I am going to use this wrapping paper and I'm actually going to utilize one of my glittery gold ears I am going to bring this little guy back I did a bunch of tutorials with him in it I think I did I do more than one I'm not sure but I know yes I did I did a couple of picture frames with him and then I also used him to put on top of stacked books wrapped in plaid so I thought it would be really neat to kind of do an advent calendar with the same theme and it just kind of like makes my whole entire house cohesive I'm going to go ahead and take this cute little tag I've done this in one of my other bags and I am going to put that it's PJ day it came in the mail er at my house and I thought this is so cute we could go get a peppermint mocha from Krispy Kreme and they don't even have some like coupons down here so I'm actually going to cut this up and because I like the picture of it and I'm going to add it to some card stock or scrapbook paper and put it inside the bag okay so that's done it's ready to go inside my bag I have some more peppermint candies left from my very first set of Advent bears and enjoy and add the rest it's just fitting because it's a peppermint mocha so I just used some hot glue and put my deer on the bag and now I can actually put the rest of my items in here so fun pj day which I'm personally looking forward to and peppermint mocha oh my god even that okay I think this is probably way better than any present under the tree like these little Advent bags are so exciting so this bag is done so for my next bag December 15th is a Tuesday and I was feeling inspired by the sticker book which I have hauled and shown in one of my videos from Michael's craft store it's Santa soda fountain the stickers in here are just incredibly adorable I picked out these two pieces of scrapbook paper from my Christmas collection I felt that they went really well with the soda fountain theme and then I picked out some silver foil stickers I'm gonna do my little circle punch outs again and I'm gonna put Dec 15 the back of this actually has this cute little pattern and I thought I would add some more pattern to this just to give it like some more dimension and layering and it makes it look a lot nicer I'm going to put it right the front is done so I'm gonna move on and make the car that's gonna go on the inside I am going to make this a movie night and play board games by the Christmas tree I added my little stickers to match and that is gonna go on and inside on this specific day I'm also going to include some fun snacks for our movie watching I don't have a specific movie in mind but I'm gonna add some popcorn I'm gonna add some fun baby snacks I'm also going to add some fun drinks to the inside as well but these need to stay cold so they'll see Anna fridge until it's time to put them in the bag but what I love about this one is that it gives you the names of the reindeers so comment and Cupid on this one and then I got this one as well says Prancer and vixen there was probably more and I should have got them but I didn't but these were so incredibly cute coke is a treat for me so I don't always drink it so I would put this in the bag for me and then a cute little miniature sprite for my daughter I'm going to use a this piece of tape just because I feel like it's really iridescent and gorgeous and matches the theme of this bag so I am gonna remove my drink products from here put them back in the fridge but the day of I'll open it back up put those in there and this will be ready to go for my very last bag that I am going to do today is a December 16th it is going to be a Wednesday so in this specific bag I think I'm actually just going to have to pick up some little items for it I am riding a little bit of a list I may include like a little makeup brush or a couple of dollars and maybe some sort of lip balm in here so I'm not gonna have anything to actually insert into this bag today this is the theme that I've decided to go with it's just a woodland winter wonderland and I thought it was just so incredibly cute this is going to be my main piece of paper and then I'm actually going to cut these up and then punch some circle cutouts from this one as well so here's what it looks like this is so cute I really like this one when I do have something in here to put I am going to use this to seal the back and December 16th is finished choose the season to be Charliehey guys so today I'm so excited that I'm finally getting to share with you guys my days 9 through 16 at my Christmas advent calendar do-it-yourself I think it's so simple especially if you have a lot of scrapbooking items and stickers and stuff like that then that should really come easy and free basically because you have it on hand if not this is still a really cheap way to do things because you can get a lot of this stuff at the Dollar Tree and I think Christmas stuff is all 50% off right now at Hobby Lobby so you just need like a like a booklet of scrapbook paper from like Christmas themes and stuff like that although there is another really cool way to do an admin calendar to do it like super cheap and quick and still be fun is to just do a mason jar and add little action cards inside of it so you just take a mason jar write out little cards you know of what you're gonna do and stuff like that and then just put them in the mason jar and then just draw them you know by the day but today I am on a day to this is what I made in my first video days 1 through 8 which I will link down below if you have not seen that already this is day 2 and this one I will make card for hot chocolate run at Starbucks for my daughter and I and we did that right after school so I've got my hot chocolate and date who is done and absolutely love this bag I will be saving all of my bags and putting them up with my Christmas decor and then next year I'll already have my bags all over again day 17 through 35 35 burrell day 17 through 25 will be my third installment of the series of my DIY Christmas advent calendar and I will be putting that up in a couple of days so but I won't go ahead and tell you that there are still a couple of items that I need to pick up and put inside of the bags so you do still have some time to get some of this stuff done at least if you get a couple bags done in advance and then you can do you know a little bit of shopping here and there if you want to just put in some cute little treats you can get all this stuff at the Dollar Tree you can go to five below you know there's lots of cheap items at Walmart as well little stocking stuffers that can go in these little bags and if you don't want to buy anything just right action cards of things you can actually do so if you want to see how I put together days at 9 through sixteen then keep watching and I'll see you tomorrow bye starting at December 8 which is a Wednesday and I'm taking my personal calendar into consideration I have pulled a couple of items already I wanted to do a Grinch theme it's one of our favorite movies I love Jim Carrey in this and I figured it would be really cool to decorate one of the advent calendar bags with this theme I went ahead and pulled out some items that I thought would go really well with this I printed this from my computer I just went to Google Images and searched for the Grinch I put this on more document and print it out and cut it down and then I liked these stickers from my collection I've hauled this before one of my videos in my Hobby Lobby haul and I liked it because I liked the string of Lights the Christmas tree and the presents they're all really kind of like dr. of this bag so I am gonna remove my drink products from here put them back in the fridge but the day of I'll open it back up put those in there and this will be ready to go for my very last bag that I am going to do today is a December 16th it is going to be a Wednesday so in this specific bag I think I'm actually just going to have to pick up some little items for it I am riding a little bit of a list I may include like a little makeup brush or a couple of dollars and maybe some sort of lip balm in here so I'm not gonna have anything to actually insert into this bag today this is the theme that I've decided to go with it's just a woodland winter wonderland and I thought it was just so incredibly cute this is going to be my main piece of paper and then I'm actually going to cut these up and then punch some circle cutouts from this one as well so here's what it looks like this is so cute I really like this one when I do have something in here to put I am going to use this to seal the back and December 16th is finished choose the season to be Charlie\n"
