A Fan's Quest: Searching for Star Wars Dixie Cups and Toilet Paper

despite the the extra material uh this masteroid should turn out just fine and if it does i'm inclined to uh print out this mouse droid in a variety of colors uh having different color mouse droids kind of fun what else am i going to do with the pink filament right except for print droids so that's the plan it's the immediate ongoing plan droids star wars so uh i can't even remember what it was that i was searching for at the time apart from um uh star wars something rather scrolling through and that's when i hit as i pop over to this view the uh the search or the search results that ultimately yielded the power droid and so uh head over to fangs.com do a search find something that you think that i have not yet seen or printed yet and send it over because uh i'm i'm excited to print out things that i have not yet printed out specifically within the star wars realm let me go ahead and also show you this particular file this is hosted on fangs allergies got more than i bargained for there uh this is what i'm printing right now i'm able to interact with the object in real time and if i was using an ios device today uh instead of using the desktop as i'm using to browse i would be able to uh basically view this file in a meet space like that's what the the ar hook allows you to do on fangs.com or byway of things.com so as long as the file of course is hosted on fangs.com i could even go in and change the color so i can see what a mustardy yellow mouse droid might look like and you can see as i'm spinning it around if you're familiar with 3d printing where i'm definitely placing supports because the last thing i would want is for something to fail and i'd rather just pick away a few different supports at the end of a print and have a good print uh then then have something that maybe was not as uh polished i'm printing at 0.15 mm layer height there i can even change the orientation top left back if i needed to it's just it thangs.com really makes things simple it makes fangs simple and as far as meta search is concerned probably um the more comprehensive or straightforward way of doing it rather than going to each individual site that might it pull up there in chat i've already updated the aura so that should be reading out what it is that i am printing and i i didn't have a mouse droid when i was growing up certainly did not have a mustard yellow one i am printing obviously in galaxy black they don't have that color but i could go in and you know choose something oh that's kind of a cool color i like that that's neat uh resetting it to the the default gray which wasn't as exciting like i haven't got a gray one i've got black ones but i don't have a black glittery one hence me using the galaxy black to see how well uh hobby lobby and uh i got another one because i knew with this being ceramic that inevitably the other one would probably break so i got a backup uh c through 3po r2d2 toothpick holder probably a a good way of of modeling a different kind of toothpick holder i mean i wouldn't mind using a 3d printed toothpick holder i think that would work out really really well uh but i've got a licensed one and this was only well after the discount like 350 so it was like a bogo buy one get one free 3.50 for a licensed ceramic toothpick holder that's very well painted very well done and you know that's that's kind of like where i reached that that point where like yeah that's great that's a good price it's licensed it's it's really well done yeah why would i you know go as far as to you know 3d print something that i could easily have like this now as far as a mouse droid is concerned i have mastered i have several of them even with wheels that spin but not in a color that i'm printing now and potentially not in the other colors that i plan on printing these mouse droids in so you see there's it's not just the object sometimes it's also the colors that you might be able to choose to uh to print it uh rcmaniac asks if i've seen something let me see if i have i probably have maybe i haven't made the fourth tuscan raider toothpick dispenser i guess i have not so wait a minute so the the tuscan raider goes down and then it goes up oh this is interesting this is very interesting okay this is uh this is fun i might print this yeah okay i mean we we we have a lot of we we have a lot of toothpicks uh and certainly now have an official toothpick holder but this might make an interesting project let me go ahead and star that save that for the future when i get to a filament that i impressed impressive most impressive so it's a jedi original also got this today half off a uh do or do not a great reminder for people who who sometimes forget not to try but to actually just do it or don't do it right do or do not half off at the uh uh at hobby lobby had a lot of things happen and then i mentioned the other day that uh jedi got some uh makeup brushes and uh the makeup brushes that oh hang on i'm sorry okay i have paw let me just formally apologize let me formally apologize to liz it was not int my tone was not intended to come across as snippy i was just saying i was good i knew i needed a freeze frame i appreciate the call but like i'm trying to balance a few things here so i i just want to apologize i i i'm hat in hand i apologize profusely so don't call next time do a feeling that's going to happen again and again and again and again and again and again so i i don't want to keep replacing and replacing or replacing so i'm going to get her prescriptions uh information entered online and then go from there theoretically okay uh okay um okay ah at least i can feel the air conditioning's kicking in i don't know if it's going to help any because i still feel like i'm sweaty is it it just does polly i know nothing about polyester i think that's got to be it because i i i don't have a problem with other i may have to like change out this is like more of a winter kind of shirt because i i don't think um play-doh makes great glasses frames yeah i don't know dude we want to try to find something stylish ever like when i posted it on i'm gonna have to change my shirt dude because it's like way too hot even with the air conditioner on it's way too freaking hot 3d printing glasses frames would be nice yeah maybe but like dude it's a seven-year-old it's gonna happen i just wasn't expecting it to happen that fast and honestly i wasn't expecting these frames to get destroyed that quickly and that easily i mean it really was shocking because these things you could like twist and bend in like 13 different directions so um the the one that people had recommended on twitter was hang on quite a few people actually which says a lot uh one person says oh just super glue it i'm like i'm not gonna get super glue next to these lenses zenny a lot of people recommended zenny z-e-n-n-i i'm like okay so i looked cheap or cheap enough and i'm like great so we can get one set of frames and then a backup and then when when when that one set of frame gets destroyed or lost we go to the back up and we have the backup we go we get a new one and you know what i'm saying boom boom boom so that way it's not as so we always have a backup and it's not like outrageous so theoretically the only problem is we won't be able to get them fitted per se and uh so we'll have to kind of you know go from there and and it's a bigger problem because jedi can't tell us what works and what doesn't or how something is and how something isn't so if if the measurements are not accurate my concern is she won't see as well as she could and because she can't articulate what a problem is either way for the moment we reordered her current frames like everything is the same the prescript we the lenses are fine there's no problem with the lenses uh costco yeah i thought about that liz i mean we've got the the membership now it was it was like i was just looking for something cheap super cheap like these gotta be good but also so freaking cheap because she's gonna do it again and i i don't wanna i mean it's kind of like it's it's a bother but i don't want to be i'd rather be bothered 25 at a time than 150. and so costco i think um because i did costco years ago they were they were okay if i knew they had like a kids program this is what kind of look i'm looking for is like an affordable kids like cycle program and nothing exists because they know kids are gonna destroy their glasses or lose them or whatever so uh cenia says any glasses didn't have to adjust anything other than maybe moving the nose pads a little well see that's the problem is she can't she can't tell us i mean she can but she can't she can't articulate the only way we were able to get her prescription was that the doctor measured her eyeball her size or whatever so uh 25 that's expensive 25 is expensive no no you've never bought glasses before because 25 is cheap dude 25 is cheap so i i'm i'm worried that we may end up doing um i i will have to look into costco it's a question of whether or not the the the price is uh uh the discrepancy and price for the subscription is is is specifically warranted and maybe as she gets older it becomes a little more interesting we don't need to give her anything fancy schmancy just like basic dog 510 just gonna then it's gonna be like we're gonna waste you know half of it on glasses that she never wears i'm like i don't want to do that one at a time and a backup they do kids glasses at costco cool right now it's far more convenient to just get them online i i i'd have to know a little bit more about pricing and if it's nowhere in the 25 range i'm not as interested because she will destroy the aurabash can you translate can you try it's written out um really liz you had to wear patches i had to wear patches like the fifth grade i had a lazy eye which jedi definitely has uh i think jedi's is far more pronounced than mine ever was but um i had uh a uh uh a i want to say in the fifth grade i i don't think it corrected anything just like the the the patch to correct lazy eye did as much for me as as allergy stuff like allergy medication it didn't do anything allergy shots didn't do anything so a lot of people recommended zenny specifically for kids i like the price i like the idea the selection looks fine it it will likely work very well enough so you would say pirate well there you go there you go i think people said that about me i i i've completely forgotten i thought it was kind of cool i but like i said i don't think it did me any good and then the the the doctor was saying oh well you know you can put her on contacts you know and that might help a little bit more i'm like dude she's six years old we can't we can't even hardly get her to like take vitamins let alone sticking things in her eye every day that that's definitely not gonna happen absolutely not friends kid had to wear the patch didn't work eventually had to get eye surgery that corrected everything wow mine i don't think was dramatic but it's our hope that the corrective lenses if jedi wears them on a regular basis uh will correct anything any issues that that that have been pronounced over over the past little while beatrix has nighttime contacts or correct revision in a few weeks that's the the doctor was recommending the nighttime stuff to sleep in it my concern how old's beatrix my concern is specifically getting her to sit still to put him in and if she says no once right and it becomes a fight i then it becomes a fight and then it doesn't happen again and it just it goes all out the window so i'm not interested in in anything that's going to give a that's going to be a fight um lord knows i've been trying to avoid one lately so uh either way i've tried yeah b is ten so you wanna that's what i'm saying like this six-year-old i mean like i i'm i'm far more like sheenies oh cool which file did you use and how well does the black series work with it because that looks like it it'd be pretty decent for uh uh for for black series stands because i there are times that i can balance them really well and there are other times that just like no matter what i do i can't and i've been thinking about doing that specifically for my bigger figures black series works great yeah but which which file did you use to get it yeah just let me know because that that that i maybe i may be while i've got this loaded i might as well print out some some of those stands hello there omg uh uh uploaded on fangs fang that i got here with the fang this is uh what i'm printing it's android a droid android and so obviously um the one i'm printing it this is this is the download here i linked it before i'll link it again the mouse droid uh first scene on a new hope thank you uh hollywood in 3d let me grab that that's not too bad and if you're using it and you say it works all right minutes in and she was done i'm like okay that was fun there's uh sith statues on exigal in the the i don't know if you what we call it the fortress uh that that palpatine's in sith statues would be interesting don't know if they're jedi statues out there i think little tots like star wars little tots would be a total hit little tots were supposed to be produced by kenner back in the day modern little people look a lot like star tots did so like almost like star wars little people that like a series of star wars little people i think would be amazing of course i don't know how well they would print without supports uh there may have to be some supports or a lot of supports i don't know but to get a variety of characters in that kind of ethos would be outstanding uh i'm not i've pretty much given up on dejarik figurines like the closest that i i've i've been able to come to was the chess set from galaxy's edge and maybe i haven't gone uh looking too deeply but the training ball that luke uh used as well as uh uh ray uh to to train uh those would be those would be kind of neat i got i i've yet to do a thermal detonator like the one bush uh carried with her in return of the jedi so i don't know how that one's going to turn out yet but we'll shut we shall see uh i i don't think i need another 3d printer no because i a i don't know where it's going to go um it'd be it would be one more thing to maintain maybe if i wasn't the only one who had to manage it then it would be okay but given that i'm already managing way more than way more than uh what i would expect to manage on the average day i'm not i'm not looking for additional responsibilities all this talks making you want to go back to star wars area in disneyland you need to there are some exclusives there that i need to get a hold of there's a new rainbow droid figure too that is out and i do know someone who lives in the area and and she's been able to to to find certain things for me when she goes uh but i'm not sure if and when this one is going to become available online but given that disney has been shutting down a lot of the physical stores not just in the us but canada it's a question of whether or not they will make a lot of that stuff available online or that will still remain something that would be exclusive to like downtown disney or disney parks or whatever so liz okay this is for real liz is now threatening to pour carrot soup in my pockets i i don't think i mind carrot soup cooked carrots not so much carrot soup i could probably have that i enjoy v8 greatly i love v8 the well the supports are going to come off i'm going to keep my fingers crossed super glued into her head yeah liz i'm not joking we need we ordered the pads for the nose in in the there's some ear like hooks because like her ears i mean her her head's not big enough where the the this part can't reach the back i mean there it's perfect width but it we they're like clips that we have to use to shorten the glasses on her head uh or the frame right and uh i just ordered it like she didn't have them for 48 hours maybe a little over 48 hours and they were destroyed and i don't just mean broken i mean destroyed like i i i broke my glasses and when that happened when i was a kid it was freaking masking tape that that's that was my fix so this child doesn't realize just how lucky she is let me just be very clear about that let me underscore it when i broke my glasses when i was a kid they weren't replaced they were fixed with masking tape uh db 3d dan did i see your reply about your daughter i don't know i don't know i'm not just saying back in my day i'm just saying like this child does not realize just how lucky she is that's not even a back in my day thing it's like we just were not in a position to be replacing glasses when they were broken so i am you know the the if this becomes the first thing that jedi really needs to be responsible for well i'm gonna be serious as anything like dude we can't be replacing these like i'm not smiling not laughing not joking like this is not funny like you need to be responsible for this i mean what are you gonna say the consequences are otherwise we're not gonna get any or you know maybe it comes like it if it continues to happen i don't know maybe maybe you will be like all right we're gonna put masking tape on it this is what you gotta wear which i i just assumed i probably should have done with the the glasses when i took them in anyway but i'm just like uh is she she's so new to them it's so new to them it would not work out it just wouldn't it wouldn't work out she would wonder like wait a minute am i supposed to wear glasses with tape it's kind of weird you walked into a lot of walls yeah well jedi you know that's the thing about her vision she uh she could see right it's just that without being tested it's difficult to ascertain like what she could see and where and when and a lot of what she sees is specifically has been up close and uh she has cp and with that comes anger issues outburst so we have to get her new glasses at least two times a year record 23 hours she destroyed a pair wow dude like i said if it happens again i i i like you need to wear your glasses and they're we're going to get masking tape because how else are you supposed to teach a child to be responsible for the thing that she needs to have that cannot easily be just you need to do it you know well yeah you need to do it but if she doesn't want to do it you try telling the child to do something that they don't want to do with what consequence you need to wear your glasses or x so it may very well be all right all right no tablet time you need to wear your glasses and if you don't wear them no tablet time that's a it's a reward it's a privilege it's not a right i am not this is not a democracy i i there's nothing here that screams democracy nothing i'm not i'm not i'm not interested in that disciplining is not easy and it's not even disciplining i think that's that's that's a bit um it's a strong word i think discipline is different from disciplining disciplining is the action but discipline is more like the the flow right i think discipline is critical i really do i do oh it's a democracy yeah it's a democracy until dad turns his back and and then and then jedi plays on pretty uh good with her in terms of getting her vitamins but she doesn't like them and there's a ques i i have a question as to whether or not she ate half these vitamins because she didn't like them she didn't like the flavor so my concern is that she as much as she was given the vitamins she didn't take them so now i have to make i have to like give her the vitamins and watch her take her vitamins in like there watching her take him so yeah it's just it i can't roll my eyes hard enough so yeah that's we are so if i can't even get her to take her damn vitamins dude freaking gummy vitamins you know vitamins that i had growing up you know what they tasted like vitamins they didn't have a taste it was vitamins it was garbage it was junk it was chalk it was bleh it was nasty oh my
