A Quick Profile on James D, the Music Producer Behind Unboxing Therapy's Beats
In this video, Lou is excited to share with his audience a quick profile on the music producer behind some of the beats that have been featured in his channel's unboxings. Until now, the origin of these beats has been a mystery, but not anymore. Lou is thrilled to introduce the man himself, Mr. James D, and take his viewers through his studio where it all comes together.
Lou begins by asking us to meet him at his studio, which is where he makes his music. He then explains that he uses a combination of software and hardware to create his beats. Specifically, he mentions that he sequences samples pretty much everything on his machine, made by Native Instruments. In addition to this, Lou also does some sampling and sequencing on his AAI MPC 2000 XL, as well as doing some keywork on his Oxygen 25 keyboard MIDI controller.
It's interesting to note that Mr. James D's machine is not just a piece of hardware but also has software integration with computers or Macs. The visual sequencer that comes with the hardware provides an interactive experience for beat making. Lou also notices that he has some nice big monitors, including the M8 Audio CX8 and Apogee Duet, which are connected to his machine via FireWire.
In addition to his equipment, Lou's studio is equipped with a mixer, specifically the Mackie 122, which has 12 channels, allowing him to layer horns, basslines, or strings. He also has another keyboard controller, the M-Audio 61, which provides 61 keys and gives him a full piano feel. This larger keyboard allows for more layering and depth in his music.
Lou then shows us some of his beats, explaining how they look like on his machine when working on different projects. It's clear that he is excited to share his music with his audience, and we can't wait to hear it featured in one of his upcoming videos. According to Lou, Mr. James D has a big repertoire of music, including different styles, and there are many new uploads coming up.
Lou invites his viewers to get in touch with him through Twitter at @JamesDMusic, as well as YouTube at youtube.com/JamesDMusic. He encourages them to leave comments on either the channel or one of his videos to let Mr. James D know that they're feeling what he's doing.
