The Drift Experience: Smooth Performance and Temperatures

As we resume trying the drift, I'm pleased to report that the performance is very smooth and I'm not noticing any lagginess whatsoever. This is great news, especially considering the processor used on this device. It's based on the Snapdragon 808 chip set, which is a six-core processor. While it may not be as powerful as the Snapdragon 810, it's handling these games without any issues.

Regarding the temperatures, I'm not noticing any heat at all during this gaming session. As we can see, the screen temperature is around 42°C, and the back of the device is slightly warm but not hot, with a reading of 43°C on the top and 43.6°C on the bottom. This is great news, especially considering the leather back design that helps to dissipate heat.

After 15 odd minutes of gaming, I noticed that some devices start heating up, but thanks to the leather back, this device was touching around 43°C. It wasn't feeling hot in terms of touch response, and I haven't noticed any frame drops or lagginess. The performance is still very smooth, and I'd say it's similar to what you would expect from a Tokyo-level gaming experience.

To test the device further, I decided to play another heavy game and see how it handles. As we can see, the device is handling this game without any issues and without any lagginess or throttling. The performance is still very good, and I'd say it's one of the smoothest experiences I've had on a device with this processor.

However, as the gaming session continued, I noticed that the back of the device, particularly where the volume buttons are located, was getting slightly hotter. As we can see in the temperature readings, the screen is touching around 46°C, while the back is touching around 44-45°C. This is still within a safe temperature range, but it's worth noting.

To further test the device's performance and temperatures, I decided to play another heavy game, Nova 3. As we can see, the device is handling this game without any issues or lagginess. However, the temperature readings are more concerning, with the screen touching around 48°C and the back touching around 50-51°C.

In conclusion, while the device is handling heavy gaming sessions without any major issues, it's not immune to heat. With extended gaming, even the Snapdragon 808 processor can get on the hotter side. However, this is still a minor concern, especially considering the device's overall performance and smoothness during normal usage. The full review of this device will be posted soon, so stay tuned for more information.
