My New Gaming PC!

Austin's New Gaming PC Build: A Hands-on Experience with New Egg TV

Today, I'm excited to share with you my experience building a new gaming PC with my friends over at New Egg TV. We teamed up to put together a powerful machine that will surely satisfy my gaming needs. As we began the build process, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The team over at New Egg TV provided me with all the necessary components, including the case, power supply, motherboard, graphics cards, RAM, sound card, storage drives, and CPU cooler.

As we started assembling the PC, I was impressed by the quality of the components we had chosen. The case, a Fractal Design Define R4 Blackout Edition, is not only sleek and stylish but also features a side panel window that allows for optimal airflow. The power supply, an EVGA 800W Newton, is a beast of a unit that provides plenty of power to our system. I was particularly pleased with the choice of motherboard, the Z8 FTW, which boasts a stunning red and black design and comes equipped with a sleek shield to hide the rear ports.

As we continued building the PC, I couldn't help but notice the attention to detail that New Egg TV had brought to the project. The team's enthusiasm was palpable as they helped me assemble every component, from the graphics cards to the sound card. When it came time to add some production value to our build, we decided to take a closer look at the case and its features. The side panel window, which was initially closed off by a protective cover, revealed itself to be a clever design feature that allows for easier access to the internal components.

One of the highlights of our build process was when we encountered the first bridge on the motherboard. This clever design feature allows us to connect two separate chips together, effectively doubling the bandwidth and increasing overall performance. As we continued building the PC, we also had to navigate a few more bridges that connected different components together. These bridges are an essential part of modern computer hardware and allow for the efficient transfer of data between different parts of the system.

As we finished assembling the PC, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. We had taken a bunch of individual components and created something truly special. The final result was a powerful gaming machine that would be capable of handling even the most demanding games at high resolutions. With our new build complete, it was time to test it out and see just how well it performed.

I've included links to the full video of our build process in the description below, so if you're interested in seeing more of our experience building this PC, be sure to check it out on the New Egg TV channel. With that said, let's take a closer look at the components we chose for our build and how they came together to create a truly exceptional gaming machine.

The case that we've chosen for our build is the Fractal Design Define R4 Blackout Edition. This sleek and stylish case features a side panel window that allows for optimal airflow and provides excellent cable management options. The lack of white trim on this model gives it a stealthy look, which I find to be quite appealing.

Next up is the power supply, an 800W EVGA Newton unit. Not only does this power supply provide plenty of power to our system but also comes equipped with modular cables that make it easy to manage and organize. The 80 Plus Platinum certification ensures that this power supply will always run at maximum efficiency, even under heavy loads.

Moving on to the motherboard, we've chosen the Z8 FTW from EVGA. This stunning board features a red and black design scheme that I find to be quite eye-catching. It also boasts a sleek shield to hide the rear ports, which adds a touch of elegance to the overall design. The 4x PCIe slots are plenty for our graphics cards, and we've also included a Wi-Fi module for connectivity.

Our graphics cards will be two of the most powerful GPUs available today – the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780s from EVGA. These cards have plenty of memory and are still capable of delivering great performance at high resolutions.

The RAM that we've chosen is the G.Skill Trident 16GB kit, which is clocked at a respectable 2400 MHz. This should provide more than enough headroom for our system and will allow us to take full advantage of the latest games.

We're also including a sound card from Creative Labs, known for their high-quality audio equipment. The Sound Blaster ZX will be installed underneath the graphics cards and provides an excellent alternative to using a USB deck.

Our storage drives will consist of two 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SSDs. These are among the fastest SSDs available on the market today and provide plenty of storage space for our games, programs, and data.

Lastly, we've chosen a 4TB Western Digital Caviar Black hard drive to complete our build. This massive drive provides an enormous amount of storage space and should last us for many years to come.

Finally, let's take a look at the CPU cooler that will be cooling our system. We've chosen a high-quality air cooler from EVGA that is specifically designed to keep our processor cool under heavy loads.

With all the components assembled and installed, it's time to test out our new build. As I boot up the PC for the first time, I'm excited to see just how well everything works together. The power supply springs to life as we complete the POST cycle and boot into the BIOS setup.

The system boots smoothly and loads the operating system without any issues. We're using a 64-bit version of Windows 10 and are taking full advantage of the latest features that this operating system has to offer.

As we install our drivers for the graphics card, sound card, and storage drives, I'm impressed by the ease with which everything installs. The system seems to be humming along smoothly as we complete each task.

We're now ready to test out the performance of our system in various games at different resolutions. With a powerful CPU, plenty of RAM, and high-performance graphics cards, I have no doubt that this build will deliver exceptional results.

In conclusion, building a PC is an exciting experience that allows you to get up close and personal with each component that makes up your system. From the power supply to the storage drives, every part plays a crucial role in creating a powerful machine that can handle even the most demanding tasks. With New Egg TV's help, I was able to create a truly exceptional gaming PC that exceeds my expectations.

I hope you've enjoyed this behind-the-scenes look at our build process and have gained an appreciation for the hard work that goes into creating a high-performance PC.

went out to their Studio to put it all together this actually nice this is a heavy board oh wow look at that did you see the height on that thing yeah heat that was a little that was too a little too enthusiastic what oh you don't have to get this I'm not going to be able to get it I'm not going to be able to get it no don't includ no there's no way I'm opening it here we go here we go here we go okay you guys ready playing a little hard to get right now but don't worry here we go here we go need I got to take it slow take a slow guys take a slow so so basically the real way to do it is this there connected it's a bridge see look see you can walk from this side double the bandwidth you link up Bridges whoa is this is this four-way s right now have you ever seen a bridge on a bridge hey that looks pretty right I think so I think it's really nice oh oh it's going away back it's com back it's too fast slow down all right I think we're good this is our this is our human powered Lazy Susan everyone we want to add a little production value to New Egg TV right now definitely if you guys want to see the full video you can check it out on the new egg TV channel and I'll have that Linked In the description however let's take a closer look at the build first of all we have the case which is the fractal design Define R4 blackout Edition this version tents the side panel window and blacks out all the white trem and fans giving it a very cool stealth look I've been a fan of fractal cases for a while in fact my last build was actually built into a Define R4 so this is a perfect way to replace it also from fractal design is the Newton 800 wat power supply not only is it 80 plus Platinum but it's also modular to help keep things nice and neat for the CPU we used an Intel Core i7-4770k again the same thing I used in my old build as I probably don't need to tell you guys it's one of the best overall processors you can buy for both gaming and editing since we built it at new EG TV and shipped it back to me we threw on the stock heat sink for now however I'll be putting on a better cooler soon EVGA also helped out with the motherboard and graphics cards the Z8 7 FTW is one of the better looking Boards out right now in my opinion with a sweet looking red and black finish and even nice touches like a shield to hide the rear ports with a pair of GTX 780s inside gaming shouldn't be too much of a problem either equipped with the ACX coolers these should have plenty of power even for 4k on the memory side we have 16 GB of g-scale trident Ram clocked at 2400 MHz while it's not really necessary for gaming it should give a nice boost for editing there's also a sound card here the creative sound Blaster ZX which slides in underneath the graphics cards I typically use a USB deck so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how the Sound Blaster performs for the drives Samsung provided a pair of 256 GB 840 Pro ssds I used to use one of these in my gaming build and they really are about the best ssds you can buy last but definitely not least we've got a 4 tbyte Western Digital Caviar black anyway I've got to give a big shout out to New Egg and all the companies who helped make this build possible I've only just gotten it set up but definitely stay tuned for part two of this video where I load some games up on it and do a couple things like install a new CPU Cooler so what do you guys think of the new build definitely be sure to let me know in the comments below anyway guys thank you so much for watching and I will catch you on the next
