with i don't have experience in that field but judging from all the crap that apple's gone through in the past we're trying to make deals with itunes and whatever you know for fair pricing and downloads and all that stuff so yeah they could have easily launched the apple tv 4k a while ago but what's the point of launching it if there's not gonna be 4k content in itunes to go alongside it so that's my theory that's exactly why i think apple took its sweet old time so anyway apple tv 4k is this worth it if you have a current apple tv i gotta say okay so obviously i haven't used it yet but i'm just gonna assume right here if you don't have a 4k tv i don't think this is worth it but for someone like me with a 4k tv that supports hdr i am hyped 4k alone is just huge with me and yes my tv has built in 4k apps they look beautiful youtube looks amazing netflix looks amazing my xbox one s yes has 4k support it does a great job at that but what i want is a simple streamlined media streaming media playback whatever box that just works within the apple ecosystem and that's exactly where the apple tv comes into play i gotta say heavy box so in the back here we have icons for itunes movies netflix vimeo or vimeo yes i've heard people say that mayo like mayo mayonnaise espn apple music obviously hulu hbo now and thousands more and then it says under those icons or logos whatever support for hd 4k hdr and dolby vision video ask siri to search and play movies and shows find thousands of apps and games in the app store share photos and videos from iphone with airplay you can share from the ipad too i guess they just like mark it in the iphone brand all right here we go slow reveal ooh doggy all right first thing i noticed right away and i saw this online already the siri remotes which i'm a big fan of yeah the siri remote can be a pain in the ass sometimes but honestly it is one of the better remotes i've used in recent years because of this the touchpad makes it so much easier to scroll you know through your media and even the keyboard when you want to input text and don't want to use voice i'm telling you if you go from this to a traditional remote you will learn to appreciate this more it makes that much of a difference so let's take this out savory remotes exactly the same design except for this they now have a white ring which is actually raised a little bit that way you can feel it in the dark because i will say there have been many times where i go to find this on my couch or i'm sitting on it i or it accidentally ends up in my pants i think that has happened before actually hey one quiet down up there i'm doing an unboxing disrespect this is really nice and i think this is a step in the right direction um you know to making this easier to use in the dark and i'm telling you that thank you mr mcintosh that white you know raised ring feels really nice and i can definitely tell it feels a little better now and i'm not saying how to send buy and snap a fanboy it legit feels better like as soon as i pick it up i can feel the ring without even looking at it so very nice i like that a lot saving best for last uh power cable boom amazing apple tv oh my god you're a heavy apple tv 4k this plastic bothers me it has like a rough feel to it there you go wow hold on i don't think the other one is was uh raised like this look there's actually a vent on the bottom does this have a built-in fan nail maybe not i don't know it's i mean okay so obviously it's there for air air ventilation but because this is streaming 4k content you have to assume it's going to get a lot hotter you know what hold on let me go check my old apple tv i'll be right back i know i'm so professional aha i was right the older apple tv you know last year's model it's raised but it's not open on the bottom it's just rubber this actually has openings for air ventilation very interesting design decision it obviously doesn't make the apple tv look any worse because you're not going to say it but that's pretty cool that apple thought of that wow look at that black tape that's actually that's actually really nice tape now oddly enough apple took away the usbc port on the back gotta be honest i never used it once i think it's just there for support i don't know not a big deal to me maybe a big deal to you ethan out on the back i will be using wi-fi though ethernet hdmi and power there you go the apple tv i think it's the same footprint i don't think it takes up any more room just it's raised a little bit more packaging let's get started it says right there i don't think you get apple stickers do you yeah oh you do i'm so sorry tim you do get apple stickers do you get to have a circus with a watch no you don't interesting
