Fractal Design MESHIFY C -- New Home for our RYZEN PC!

**A Review of Fractal Design's "Nothing" Case: A Masterclass in Minimalism and Performance**

As I unwrapped my newly acquired Fractal Design "Nothing" case, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. This temper glass Edition of the case had been touted as a revolutionary design that would shake up the PC component industry with its unique blend of style and functionality. After spending some time with this sleek and compact enclosure, I can confidently say that Fractal Design has hit a home run.

One of the most striking features of the "Nothing" case is its exterior design. While nothing (pun intended) has changed in terms of overall dimensions or shape compared to other Fractal cases, the addition of tempered glass panels with an edgy mesh design has given this case a distinctly modern look. The mesh panel itself is a masterclass in airflow optimization, allowing for a full view of the interior while maintaining a sleek and aerodynamic appearance. I must admit that I was initially hesitant about the mesh design, but after seeing it up close, I'm thoroughly impressed by its subtlety.

The interior of the case has also undergone some notable changes compared to previous Fractal cases. Gone is the traditional brush-plastic front panel, replaced instead with a fully open design that prioritizes airflow and aesthetics. The result is a seamless visual experience that leaves no doubt about the "Nothing" case's focus on performance and style. I particularly appreciate the angular protrusions on the front mesh, which add a touch of industrial chic to an otherwise minimalist design.

While some features have been tweaked for this particular edition, such as the repositioned power LED, overall, Fractal Design has struck the perfect balance between form and function. The price point, too, is hard to beat – I was able to secure this temper glass Edition case for a mere $89, which is only $5 more than its windowed counterpart. This makes it an absolute steal for anyone looking to upgrade their PC setup without breaking the bank.

One of the standout features of the "Nothing" case is its cable management options. The dual-loop velcro straps behind the motherboard allow for incredibly efficient cable organization, eliminating the need for tedious cable-tying and securing. With this feature, I was able to tidy up my cables in under 10 minutes – a testament to Fractal Design's commitment to user-friendliness.

Of course, no review would be complete without mentioning the case's performance capabilities. As it turns out, the "Nothing" case is nothing short of phenomenal when it comes to airflow and cooling. With five fans, including two for intake and three for exhaust, I was able to keep my CPU running smoothly even at high loads. The result? A system that hums along with barely any noise, making it perfect for quiet enthusiasts.

As a bonus feature, Fractal Design has included a magnetic top dust filter, which does an excellent job of eliminating percolating dust and keeping your system clean and dust-free. Additionally, the case's rear fan mounting points are perfectly positioned for dual 140mm or 120mm fans – a feature that will no doubt delight liquid cooling enthusiasts.

For those interested in watercooling, Fractal Design has got you covered. The power supply shroud is fully enclosed, while the motherboard area features depressed areas with rubber grommets for cleaner cable exit. This allows for a wide range of radiator options – including a 360mm fan at the front and a 280mm or 240mm rad at the top.

As I began assembling my system into this sleek new case, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The result? A beautifully lit and quiet system that's sure to turn heads. And as I settled in for the long haul, I realized that Fractal Design had truly outdone themselves with this "Nothing" case.

**The Assembly Process**

Assembling my Ryzen system into the "Nothing" case was an absolute breeze. The minimal design allowed me to easily pop in my motherboard and power supply without any hassle. Cable management was a cinch, thanks to the clever velcro straps behind the motherboard. With everything securely fastened, I plugged in my fans and watched as they hummed along smoothly – a testament to Fractal Design's attention to detail.

**The Verdict**

All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed with the Fractal Design "Nothing" case. It's an absolute masterclass in minimalism and performance – a true work of art that's sure to delight even the most discerning PC enthusiasts. While some minor quirks may arise (such as the drive enclosure issue), overall, this case is an absolute steal at its price point.

And so, I conclude my review with a flourish. If you're in the market for a new case and want something that's both stylish and functional – look no further than Fractal Design's "Nothing" Edition temper glass case. Trust me when I say it's worth every penny.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwell what do you know a new fractal design case oh man we finally get something with temper glass wo so I've been looking around for a compact ATX enclosure that has temper glass and it was airflow focused and I think the meshify C is the perfect sort of candidate especially since I'm trying to go with the all my storage on the exterior so be using this thing stuff on the exterior but I'm extremely happy with the price markup for that temper glass Edition which is not enormous you're paying only $89 for the mesh FC which is only a $5 premium over the windowed version of the defin C so this is fractal's response to many current case Trends including edgo Edge tinted temper glass panels with a standard four thumb screw Mount and not your typical front panel that is no longer brush plastic that fractal is known for but instead it's pretty much fully open for airflow purposes and I like the subtle design choices that they've added like a tasteful aluminum fractal logo without which the front will appear too blend and I do like the angular protrusions on the front mesh that are not extreme and they're are only visible at an angle what I don't like though are the glossy plastic bits surrounding the new front mesh and I initially thought the only way to remove the front dust filter is to pop it out from the frame that has the I/O attached to it so it's not exactly user friendly but the removal of this front mesh is actually pretty unique uh there is enough space for your fingers to get underneath the front panel and it push onto the dust filter and it simply pops out like that so you can clean it nice I do like the blackout USB 3 ports at the top still waiting for that type-c Port from fractal toe and now they have a reposition the power LED that's hidden on the front panel the magnetic top dust filter is good to eliminate percolating dust and uh properly offset mounting points are here for dual 140 or 120 mil fans now one of the main reasons I like this Frame so much is the size it looks kind of like a Micro ATX enclosure next to my evolve ATX but since I'm only air cooling my CPU this reduced length of the chassis is actually more beneficial especially since you can populate 3 120 mil fans in the front or dual 140 mm on the interior two fans are included the power supply shroud is fully enclosed the motherboard area is depressed inside with these angular rubber grommets that allow cleaner cable exit and for water cooling you can do a 360 rad at the front as long as you move back the drive cage and have a short power supply and you can also do a 280 or a 240 mm Radiator in the front without removing the drive cage at all and for the top you can fit up to a 280 mm radiator and I had to move the rear fan down a little bit for it to fit for additional storage three ssds can be installed on this bracket at the back and I really love this channel for cables in the front and I appreciate the captive thumb screws for the solid side panel so now the basics are out of the way let's put my ryzen system out of here here into here all right so the assembly went flawless I absolutely love the minimal style of the case it's much smaller than my previous one and therefore it allows me to actually house that external driver en closure right beside it without interfering with much of my setup but I am having some issues with the drive enclosure so I'll have to troubleshoot that on why this is happening some drivers are disconnecting and some drivers not being recognized so yeah and as for the case in total I got five fans two for intake two for the CPU tower and one for exhaust to keep air flow in this horizontal Direction I have five PCI slots occupied and cable management for the interior is really fantastic and behind the motherboard the double Loop velcro straps really save the day to clean up cables fast you don't have to spend hours on it really 10 minutes and that's all you need and everything is flat to the case so the side panel closes without any Force I do love the tinted temper glass that has no color cast which is awesome it's pure black with good Reflections
