The New TV Application in iOS 10.2 Beta 2

As you can see, once we go into the new TV application, we get this new screen that introduces the new TV app. This app will allow us to see all of our movies, TV shows, and videos in one place. It will also enable us to browse and search for new movies and TV shows to watch. The application uses your iCloud account to gather up all of your multimedia content and purchases, and puts them into one place.

However, it's not the same as the Videos app, which many of you are thinking about because we can basically search and browse new movies and TV shows along with the ability to integrate with third-party applications like Hulu, HBO Go, and others. These applications aren't supported just yet, but we can expect them to be updated with the support for the TV app when the final version of iOS 10.2 drops.

As you can see in the application, I already have some purchased TV shows and movies. These are from a long time ago, and I actually forgot about them. They include Drillbit Taylor, Wild Hogs, and Great Movie - Notorious, which is obviously one of the best TV shows of all time. As you can see right here, we have all of it just streamlined in one place.

Down below at the bottom, we can see we have a tab for the store where we can actually search and rent or buy movies and TV shows. We also have a tab for trending movies and TV shows, which is pretty cool. If we go ahead and 3D touch on the TV application, you can see that we can add a widget. If we go ahead and add that widget then scroll all the way down to our widgets, we can see that we have TV right there.

It looks like the TV widget is actually the same as the Videos widget. I'm not really sure how they differ, but I'm guessing once more apps integrate with the TV application, you will start to see more content in the TV tab and in our settings application. In our settings application, we have a new tab for TV provider and this is basically just going to allow us to sign in to Dish or Sling or whatever we have and get access to those TV shows and movies and put them all into the TV application.

A New Feature - Emergency SOS

In beta 2, there's also a new feature that was released for the Apple Watch in beta 1. This is just going to allow us to contact emergency services, and it will also notify our emergency contacts if we're in an emergency situation. As you can see here, we have a little shortcut for activating Emergency SOS. If you go ahead and tap on the power button five times in a row rapidly, it will activate the Emergency SOS feature and it will call emergency services and your contacts.

The Music Application

Heading over to the music application, you'll notice that if we scroll down, we have much bigger Shuffle and repeat buttons. There's also a new splash screen for the first time you opened up the music application that actually showed us that we can swipe up to access the shuffle and repeat buttons. Another interesting feature in beta 2 is that we can now hand off calls to other devices without actually being connected to the same network. They only need to be associated with the same iCloud account, so basically I can forward a call from my iPhone to my iPad as long as they're using the same iCloud account.

A Small Bug Fix

One small bug fix in beta 2 is that the charging sound now works even if keyboard clicks are disabled. Before, if you had keyboard clicks disabled, you wouldn't hear the sound when you plug your phone in to charge it. That's basically it for the second beta of iOS 10.2 - nothing too crazy, but a new stock application is always pretty interesting.

number as you can see right here is 14c 5069 C and comparing the storage space you can see that beta 1 left me with 224 52 GB of available space and 24822 GB of capacity and if we go over to iOS 10.2 beta 2 you can see that it left me with 22418 GB of available space but it increased the capacity to 248.50 so obviously not a huge deal but it is just interesting to look at in every new beta version
