You're Not Smart with Tech: A Review of the Laser Mouse

Kindly, I'd like to address the notion that you're not smart with tech. As a matter of fact, my response to that statement is "the name would be TechDumb if I wasn't tech smart." It's a clever play on words, don't you think? The name isn't TechSmart for no reason, and it's indeed super smart when there are two t's at the end. So, let's put this notion to rest once and for all.

So, what's up guys? I'm Keaton here, and today we're going to be reviewing a laser mouse that's got everyone talking. This thing is all laser, folks! Not just a mouse with a laser on the bottom, but an entire device that projects a virtual surface for you to tap on. It looks like a Transformer, doesn't it? I mean, where have those movies gone? Have they made another one yet?

I'm guessing not everyone knows what a mouse is, and I just want to know who those people are. So, let's take a closer look at this laser mouse. It's pretty expensive, I'm not gonna lie. If you wanna check it out, the link is below. Just look at it – it definitely looks like one of those travel mice you'd find in your bag or pocket.

The laser warnings at the bottom are quite clear: don't shine this in your eyes, kids. (dramatic music) I was that kid, I was like, what does it do? That's why I can't really see. So, let's go ahead and set this up. You need the cord to actually use the mouse; it's not Bluetooth. That's a little sad, because it's expensive, and most mice are Bluetooth and wireless.

I plugged it in and came on – got the laser goodness. It looks like it's a trackpad; the Apple Magic Trackpad, you know what I'm talking about. Alright, let's see if it works. Does it work? Yeah, it does! Ladies and gentlemen, it works! Awesome, alright, let's create a new folder.

I tested the actual clicky parts of the mouse, and it makes a little click too when you hit it. So, it's kind of making you feel like you're at home with a mouse, but it's a virtual mouse. Sweet, awesome – I don't know why I used this one. I should be using this one. Bad trackpad, gotta use this one.

So, what I have enabled on my MacBook Air is when I touch the main part. It sounds weird when I hit the space bar with the laser mouse because the cursor doesn't move. That's definitely delayed. It is definitely delayed. They got a deal on a PlayStation Plus card – oh wow, that is definitely a deal! I'm gonna have to check that out.

I mean, would've liked it to have been better. I don't know words. The scrolling's a big deal for me because I like to scroll. It's not buttery smooth, which makes me sad. So yeah, I mean it's expensive. I wouldn't say it's as good as the finger mouse.
