### Article: A Day of Art Journaling with Me

#### Introduction

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my very first journal-with-me video. I’m incredibly excited to be filming this and sharing my journey with you. I promised you guys a while ago that I wanted to start making some journaling videos, and today—after much anticipation—I’m finally here, recording this video. A fun fact: this is also my first time ever doing a voiceover! Please bear with me as I navigate this new territory—it’s all very new to me, but I’m so excited to be doing this!

I was thrilled to hear that you guys were really excited about the idea of journaling videos. That made me feel much more comfortable with the thought of creating content like this. So, here we are—filming a day where I felt like journaling and decided to document the process for you.

---

#### Supplies Used

In this video, I’ll be showing some of the supplies I used in my journal for this spread. Most of these items were featured in a recent stationery haul video I did. If you’re interested in seeing them in more detail, I can link that video here so you can check it out. The supplies include stickers, washi tape, sticky notes, pens, and other items I always use while journaling.

---

#### The Journaling Process

This was just a random day in September when I really felt like journaling. It was the first day that *felt* like fall—thanks to the cooler weather—and it happened to be the day before the first official day of fall. That made it a fitting theme for my spread, especially since so much of my washi tape is in fall colors.

I usually don’t have any plan for my journal spreads, and this one was no exception. The only thought I had going into it was that it would be a nice way to capture the feeling of fall starting. However, as you’ll see throughout this video, my process is anything but orderly. I tend to just put things where they look good to me and move them around repeatedly until I like how it looks.

---

#### Mistakes and Perfectionism

One thing you’ll notice in this video is that I made a few mistakes—like gluing down the wrong piece of lined paper—and didn’t realize it for quite some time. This is actually one of my favorite things about art journaling. It forces me to let go of my perfectionism, which can be really helpful. When I make mistakes, it teaches me to be more flexible and creative, finding new ways to work around errors.

---

#### Debating Sticker Placement

Another thing you’ll notice is that I spend a lot of time debating where to place my stickers and washi tape. It’s a process that takes far longer than necessary, but it’s all part of the journey. I find myself contemplating each placement for way too long, often overcomplicating things. This might seem frustrating, especially if you’re someone who likes structure or efficiency, but I actually enjoy this part of the process. It allows me to be very creative and thoughtful about how I want my spread to look.

---

#### The Raw Process

The raw footage for this video was literally two hours long because creating these two pages took me more than two hours. This is a lot longer than what you might see in most journaling videos, as we usually edit out the boring parts. But I wanted to show you just how much time it can take to plan and execute a spread, especially when you’re someone like me who’s very indecisive.

---

#### The Resulting Spread

I’ll be honest—this is actually one of my favorite spreads in my entire journal. It turned out so nicely, which was a bit unexpected given how much I struggled with it. I love the color scheme and how fall-themed everything is. It makes me really happy to look at, and I’m proud of how it came together despite all the trial and error.

---

#### Encouragement for Others

If you’re new to journaling or haven’t tried art journaling yet, please don’t feel like your journal has to look a certain way. There are pages in mine that look absolutely awful, and that’s perfectly fine! Journaling is about self-expression, not perfection. It takes time to develop your style, so be patient with yourself.

If you’re into journaling, let me know what kind of journaling you like to do—bullet journaling, art journaling, collage journaling, or just writing in your journal. I’m curious to hear from you!

---

#### Closing

Thank you all so much for watching this video. I hope it lived up to your expectations and that you’re excited to see more of these journal-with-me videos in the future. If there are any specific types of journaling videos you’d like to see, feel free to let me know—I’d love to create content around them.

Don’t forget to follow me on social media if you haven’t already! All my links are in the description box below. I’ll see you in my next video—bye!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everybody and welcome to my very first journal with me video I am so incredibly excited to be filming this I promised you guys a little while ago that I way to start making some journaling videos and today I am finally filming that or I guess I'm recording the voiceover this is also my first time ever doing a voiceover so please bear with me it's very new to me but yes I'm so so excited to be doing this video I was also super happy to hear that you guys were really excited about journaling videos because it made me feel a lot more comfortable with the idea of doing them so thank you all for that but here I'm just kind of showing some of the supplies that I used in my journal for this spread it's mostly addressed liked the stickers and washi tape sticky notes pens and stuff that I always really use while I'm journaling and most of these were featured in the stationery haul that I did pretty recently so if you want to see them in more detail I can link that on the screen so you can check it out but yeah this was just pretty much a random day in September where I really felt like journaling so I recorded myself doing it and of course I was listening to BTS while I was journaling I always either listen to music or I listen to an audiobook while I'm journaling and this was just a music day for me I have that playlist created on Spotify so if you would like me to link it in the description box I can if you're interested in listening to it as well but yeah I had essentially no plan for this journal spread whatsoever I usually don't have any sort of a plan for my journal spreads but the only thought that I had going into this one was basically that it was like the first day that kind of felt like fall because the weather had gotten a lot cooler and it felt like true fall outside so I just wanted to journal a bit about that and also it was the day before the first official day of fall so I thought it was a fitting theme also a lot of my washi tape is very fall colors so I thought it would work for what I wanted to do but like I mentioned I really just like don't have a system to my journaling it's all very haphazard and super sporadic I feel like most people tend to have at least a little bit of like an order in which they'll do things like most people will glue down their paper or their photos first and then move on to washi tape and stickers and post-it notes and stuff like that but I don't really do that I kind of just like put things where I think they might look good and then move them around a ton and I just do that over and over again until I kind of like the way that it looks as you'll see throughout this video I really don't have like an order to it either sometimes I put down the washi tape first sometimes I put down the photos first like it's just all over the place but I do enjoy it because it does give me a lot of room to be super creative and I like not having that structure with it it's really nice for me and here in a second you'll notice that I actually messed up because I cut that piece of lined paper to glue down in place there but when I glued it down I actually ended up gluing down the piece of paper that I didn't cut so it was too big and I won't notice for quite awhile which is really funny watching this back but yeah that's actually one of my favorite things about this type of journaling I make like mistakes all the time and it forces me to kind of let go a bit of my perfectionism because I get very very perfectionistic with my art and I kind of can't do that with art journaling a lot of the time because I make mistakes and it forces you to be a bit flexible and find new ways to be creative and I really really love that about this it's like super super helpful for me and one of the reasons I love this type of journaling so much and once again here you'll notice I made another mistake because I glued down the sticky note before I'd put down the piece of paper but yeah like I mentioned it's just a part of the process of journaling and I do actually really enjoy it despite the fact that it can be incredibly frustrating at times especially when you're very much a perfectionist but yeah I feel like I also spend quite a lot of time debating what kind of stickers and washi tape and stuff I want to use like it's just like a whole thought process in my head where I contemplate it for far too long probably far longer than I need to but it's very important to meet the placement of my stickers and whether or not they're the correct sticker so another thing you'll probably notice throughout this video is that I spend a very very long time debating which sticker to place where also we're only like four minutes into this video and it's like 16 minutes long and I'm already feeling like I'm running out of things to talk about in this voiceover and I have no idea how people do voiceovers so yeah I feel like I should have asked for like questions or something to answer while I was doing this because I don't know how I'm gonna talk for 16 minutes straight it's not like that deep it's just me gluing down pieces of paper and stuff in a journal so we're gonna have to find something to talk about so how are you all doing let me know how you're doing how your life's been going also like if you're into journaling please let me know what kind of journaling you like to do do you bullet journal do you art or collage journal do you just write in your journal I'm very curious to know also here you can like clearly tell that it takes me such a long time to decide what I want to do also like the raw footage for this video was literally like 2 hours long because this whole process like took me more than two hours to just do these two pages because I'm that indecisive when it comes to placing things in my journal and it takes me that long to decide if I actually like something but yeah anyway you can see how many different things I bring out and debate whether or not I should put them there or not and it's really funny to watch this because like I kind of just want to yell at myself to just put things down and move on but it takes me forever also I do want to say that I feel like most of my spreads aren't like this I feel like each page of my journal is pretty different from each other there are some that you can clearly tell like I have at least a little bit of a style I don't really feel like I have that much of a style but I have at least a bit of a style so some of them seem like they were made by the same person but other pages are completely different some of them are like just super ugly because I literally just wrote random words on the page so yeah my journal is all over the place and each page is literally like never the same and I actually kind of like that I think it's fun and again it like lets me be creative because there are times where I do want to try really hard like this and take two hours to journal and other times where I just like want a journal for like five minutes and move on but here you can also tell that I'm like trying out some Hamlet which I am NOT great at by the way and I'm practicing a lot at it though because I do really love doing it but I'm just not not very good at it yet but it's getting there and I haven't proved actually since this video which is nice but it also takes me like forever to decide what I want to write and like how I want to do the lettering and once again you can clearly tell that I do things very out of order if there were ever even an order but yeah I just like jump around like I'll put down the washi tape and then suddenly skip to like trying out hand lettering and then I won't actually write the hand lettering thing like I won't write fall for like another five minutes or so in this video I don't know why I do things like that like I yeah I just skip around a lot that's just like the way my brain works whenever I'm doing stuff like this I don't think it needs to have any sort of structure but I just kind of like find it funny whenever I'm watching myself do this because I don't think about it that way in the moment but it's it's different when you're like watching it back and this is the moment where I finally finally realized that I ended up using the wrong piece of lined paper and I didn't use the one that I had cut and I was so upset in the moment I tried everything to take the piece of paper off and take off the sticky note but I just ended up like tearing up my page so I just had to be flexible and accept that I couldn't do it but I was not happy in the moment it's just really funny to watch that but then I decided just to journal a little bit about the day nothing too too personal sometimes I do write really personal stuff and other times I do write something a bit more generic and since I was filming this day I decided to write something just a bit less personal so that I'd feel comfortable sharing it on camera so I'm just writing a little bit about the weather and how I was feeling overall and just how nice it is for fall to be coming because I love fall so much it's my favorite season by far also now that I'm reaching this I'm also kind of worried that I used the wrong form of affecting is it affecting or affecting affect or effect when you're saying like affect my mood I'm not sure I still don't know if I use the right one or not I'm gonna Google that after this but either way I'm having a crisis so please don't judge me if I use the wrong one now finally like five minutes later we're getting into me actually trying out the hand lettering it just gives me like a lot of anxiety and I get super nervous about doing it because I want it to be perfect once again but again something I'm trying to let go of and just like be more flexible with but here I decided to slow the speed down what am I saying I decided to put the video in real time and not speed it up so that you can see like genuinely how long it takes me to hand letter I feel like when I first started hand lettering and I was like watching people's videos I thought that I like I had to be doing it a lot more quickly and that's just because people speed up their videos all the time which makes sense because it takes forever like this clip of me writing a four-letter word is literally 45 seconds long which is kind of crazy but that's also because I'm really really bad at it so I take a really long time but yeah I just wanted to slow it down so you could see like it takes a while to hand letter so you just have to be like pretty patient with it but you will eventually get there like I have improved since this video and I don't even practice that often but yeah I'm just a huge fan of hand lettering I find it really fun and also super calming it really helps me with my anxiety honestly like any time I'm super stressed out or really anxious about something sometimes I'll just pull out like a piece of paper and a pen and practice my hand lettering because it really helps calm me down and I just find it really fun and honestly I think that's like the best way to get better obviously just through practice but also like allowing yourself to have some fun with it and mess around with it and play with it and see what your kind of style is and I'm definitely still finding that but just like playing around with it is really helpful for me oh and what do we have here yet again Hannah very seriously contemplating her sticker placement and placing stickers and then taking them off because she doesn't like them because apparently my sticker placement is just something I take very seriously it's very important to me but yeah I I literally just do this for so long I feel like a good chunk of like the two plus hours that it took me to create this spread was literally me just which stickers I wanted to use which is kind of a lot but like I'm kind of extra so it makes sense for my personality honestly but yay I did finally decide on some stickers and I actually stuck them down and didn't move them so shocking Wow it only took me like the past 11 minutes of this sped up video and probably the past hour and a half in real time yeah sometimes I feel like when I watch people's journaling videos I'm just like how did you come up with this beautiful like spread or lay out so quickly but you don't really get to see like the planning that goes into it and like how much time it takes people to actually decide what they want to do because a lot of the time like we cut these videos down we edit them obviously because nobody wants to watch like two hours of raw footage of someone debating whether or not they should accuse this flower sticker here or not like I do so yeah it makes sense when you think about it that way but like we just don't really get to see that that often so yeah I just wanted to say like for anyone who wants to like get into journaling just like keep in mind that one it doesn't have to look nice like I am showing you a nice spread because the spread that I ended up filming ended up looking nice but there are genuinely pages in my journal that just like look awful and that's fine they don't have to look nice all the time and also like it takes a while to like plan this stuff out and decide like what you want to use and what you don't want to use and it doesn't all just come like at once like it's a process and it takes time I'm not even sure if any of that makes sense but basically what I'm trying to say is that like there are no rules to your journal and if you see like people's journals that look really nice like you don't have to compare yours to them you're just gonna find your own style but that is something that takes time and requires patience so yeah but here I'm just making like a little playlist of songs that I'd been listening to recently that I was really really loving there is some kpop on this playlist for those of you who constantly ask me if I listen to other k-pop I have been getting into some more kpop I've really really been loving 17s new album I really enjoyed that one and the song Second Life would I put on that playlist I have had on repeat because I'm obsessed with it and I just really love all those songs that I have on that playlist but yeah then I decided that I wanted to put like a picture in that blank space that I had because I had no idea what else to put there and I decided on going with like one of my own selfies which like is it conceded to print out one of your own selfies and place it in your journal maybe but like also I don't care I just wanted to use the photo of myself because I thought that it fit with what I was going for also like I know that I printed out this photo in the middle of like this blank piece of paper and it's like a small photo I promise I don't usually waste paper like that my printer was just like acting super super weird so that's why I ended up printing this photo that way but I always reuse my scrap paper like I use it to practice hand lettering I reuse it to glue stuff down like that and I always reuse it like in my journal and stuff so I promise it wasn't a full waste but oh my god we're at the end of this video or nearly the end of this video which is incredible basically I just put down a couple of these little washi sticker flowers that I have that I really like to kind of finish it off and then after that I was pretty much done and I'm actually really really happy with how this turned out this is actually one of my favorite spreads in my entire journal and I'm so happy that I ended up filming it because like it turned out so nicely and most of my spreads do not end up looking this nice I don't know if it was the pressure of the camera or what but I'm just really really proud of this one I feel like it's very fall I feel like it's very me and exactly like what I was going for I love the color scheme I love everything about it and it makes me really happy to look at also don't mind me just adding all this stuff into the frame I was just trying to set up stuff for my thumbnail so that's what I was doing there and then of course we have a few like close-up shots of the page so that you can see stuff more clearly but we have come to the end of this video I hope that you guys have enjoyed watching this I hope that it has lived up to your expectations of a journal with me with me and I hope you look forward to some more of these videos because I definitely do plan to make some more because I love doing this and also if there are any other types of journaling videos that you would like to see please do let me know because I'd be happy to make them but that is it for this video so if you'd like to follow me on any of my social media all of my links are in the description box as always but thank you all so much for watching this video I hope you enjoyed and I will see you in my next video all just come like at once like it's a process and it takes time I'm not even sure if any of that makes sense but basically what I'm trying to say is that like there are no rules to your journal and if you see like people's journals that look really nice like you don't have to compare yours to them you're just gonna find your own style but that is something that takes time and requires patience so yeah but here I'm just making like a little playlist of songs that I'd been listening to recently that I was really really loving there is some kpop on this playlist for those of you who constantly ask me if I listen to other k-pop I have been getting into some more kpop I've really really been loving 17s new album I really enjoyed that one and the song Second Life would I put on that playlist I have had on repeat because I'm obsessed with it and I just really love all those songs that I have on that playlist but yeah then I decided that I wanted to put like a picture in that blank space that I had because I had no idea what else to put there and I decided on going with like one of my own selfies which like is it conceded to print out one of your own selfies and place it in your journal maybe but like also I don't care I just wanted to use the photo of myself because I thought that it fit with what I was going for also like I know that I printed out this photo in the middle of like this blank piece of paper and it's like a small photo I promise I don't usually waste paper like that my printer was just like acting super super weird so that's why I ended up printing this photo that way but I always reuse my scrap paper like I use it to practice hand lettering I reuse it to glue stuff down like that and I always reuse it like in my journal and stuff so I promise it wasn't a full waste but oh my god we're at the end of this video or nearly the end of this video which is incredible basically I just put down a couple of these little washi sticker flowers that I have that I really like to kind of finish it off and then after that I was pretty much done and I'm actually really really happy with how this turned out this is actually one of my favorite spreads in my entire journal and I'm so happy that I ended up filming it because like it turned out so nicely and most of my spreads do not end up looking this nice I don't know if it was the pressure of the camera or what but I'm just really really proud of this one I feel like it's very fall I feel like it's very me and exactly like what I was going for I love the color scheme I love everything about it and it makes me really happy to look at also don't mind me just adding all this stuff into the frame I was just trying to set up stuff for my thumbnail so that's what I was doing there and then of course we have a few like close-up shots of the page so that you can see stuff more clearly but we have come to the end of this video I hope that you guys have enjoyed watching this I hope that it has lived up to your expectations of a journal with me with me and I hope you look forward to some more of these videos because I definitely do plan to make some more because I love doing this and also if there are any other types of journaling videos that you would like to see please do let me know because I'd be happy to make them but that is it for this video so if you'd like to follow me on any of my social media all of my links are in the description box as always but thank you all so much for watching this video I hope you enjoyed and I will see you in my next video bye\n"
