The Best Keyboard Apps for Android: A Comprehensive Guide

Hello again ladies and gentlemen, I'm Joe Handy, the Android 30 app guy, and in this quick video, we're going to take a look at the best keyboard apps for Android. First on our list is Adap Text, which has the standard features like auto correction but also claims to have famous theming and customization. It's a solid option for those looking for something a little bit different.

AI Type Keyboard has been around for a hell of a long time and has long tried to compete with Swift Key in the field of text prediction. It's a solid keyboard with great theming options and is worth a shot. Flexi Keyboard, on the other hand, is one of the newer keyboards on the list but made a huge splash in 2014. It features a unique typing experience above average tech prediction themes and a whole lot more.

GO Keyboard is another one that's been around for a very long time. The keyboard itself is pretty good, but its theming is among the best out there, with a bunch of themes available, and it's free. Google Keyboard is here because it's a stable option with all the basic features like moderately useful text prediction and auto correction, along with gesture typing. It's probably the best totally free keyboard available.

Hackers Keyboard is a great option for those who want something that looks and acts like a desktop keyboard. It has things like control and Escape buttons along with a tab button, making it also great for tablets. KeyMon Keyboard is a favorite of our own Josh Vagara and is a unique keyboard all on its own. You can Gest your type with two fingers instead of the usual one, and this held a speed record at one point.

Key Keyboard is another stable option even if it's not overly unique. It has good auto correction, some theming elements, text prediction, and multiple keyboard layouts in 80 languages. Multilan Keyboard is perfect for those who need multiple language support. This keyboard comes in 130 languages, which is more than everyone else, and also has a built-in calculator and gesture typing.

Minuum Keyboard made headlines with its unique layout and typing format. It takes up virtually no space, which is great for smaller devices, and it's also good for sloppy typers. Slided Keyboard is a former Editor's Choice keyboard on the Google Play Store and comes with a good set of features, including text prediction, theming, hybrid gesture typing, and more.

Smart Keyboard PRO is from the earliest days of third-party keyboards on Android and manages to remain relevant even today. It has a solid set of features and some theming, which is truly impressive that this is still around and it still works. Swift Key keyboard is the Mac Daddy of third-party keyboards right now, intensely popular, with its text prediction currently among the best ever. It has plenty of themes, multiple layouts, and it's free to use with the themes being paid.

Swipe used to be the Mac Daddy of keyboards but has cooled off since it stopped being included with newer phones. However, it is still one of the best gesture typing keyboards in the world, and it also has themes. TouchPal X Keyboard is last on our list and is a pretty good option. It has support for 80 languages, plenty of themes, and surprisingly good gesture typing along with contextual predictions.
