**Apple Unveils New MacBook Air, Mac mini, and iPad Pro: A Closer Look**
Good morning! It’s an exciting day as we are here in New York City to introduce Apple’s latest products. Among them is the all-new **MacBook Air**, which has been a long-awaited update for fans of Apple’s sleek and lightweight notebook.
The biggest feature requested by customers for the MacBook Air has finally arrived: a **Retina display**. The familiar aluminum bezel of the previous model is gone, replaced by a sleeker design where the display glass extends to the edge of the enclosure. This results in borders that are 50% narrower. The new MacBook Air features a **13.3-inch display**, offering four times the resolution of its predecessor—**over four million pixels**! Despite the narrower borders, the FaceTime camera remains at the top of the display.
Another highly requested feature is **Touch ID**, which is now included on the new MacBook Air. To enable this, Apple has introduced the **T2 security chip**. This chip also includes an SSD controller with automatic data encryption, making it the most secure storage for any notebook. The keyboard has been updated to provide **four times the stability** of the previous generation, and the trackpad has been replaced with a new **Force Touch trackpad** for a more modern experience.
For those who enjoy watching videos on their MacBook Air, Apple has improved the sound experience by making it 25% louder, with two times more bass and wide stereo sound. The new MacBook Air also features **two Thunderbolt 3 ports**, an eighth-generation dual-core CPU, and support for up to 16 gigabytes of faster memory—double the capacity of the previous model. Battery life remains impressive, offering **12 hours of wireless web browsing** and up to **13 hours of iTunes movie playback**.
The new MacBook Air is **17% less voluminous** than its predecessor, standing at just 15.6 millimeters in height—10% thinner than before. Starting configurations include eight gigabytes of memory, a 1.6 GHz dual-core i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz, and 128 GB of storage. Priced at **$1199**, the new MacBook Air is now the most affordable Retina Mac ever offered.
Next up is another small but mighty update: the **Mac mini**. Customers have been waiting for more powerful processors, and Apple has delivered with six-core CPUs in the latest Mac mini—up from four cores previously. These are not mobile parts; they are high-power eighth-generation CPUs with faster graphics, making this the most powerful Mac mini ever.
The new Mac mini supports up to **64 GB of memory**, which is faster and uses SO-DIMMs—a feature that Mac mini customers have long appreciated. It also features the **Apple T2 security chip**, offering enhanced security and performance, including HEVC video encoding 30 times faster than before. The thermal system has been improved with double the airflow while remaining super quiet.
Connectivity options include **Gigabit Ethernet, four Thunderbolt 3 ports, an HDMI port, and two USB-A ports**. Starting configurations include eight gigabytes of memory, a 3.6 GHz quad-core processor, and 128 GB SSD storage, all for **$799**.
Finally, Apple has unveiled the **all-new iPad Pro**, which promises to redefine what’s possible on an iPad—or any computer. The new iPad Pro features an edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display, with rounded corners achieved using Pixel Masking and anti-aliasing technology first seen in the iPhone XR.
The 11-inch iPad Pro has a quarter million more pixels than its predecessor, while the 12.9-inch model is nearly the size of an 8.5x11 piece of paper. Both models are incredibly thin: **5.9 millimeters** for the 12.9-inch version, which is nearly 15% thinner than before.
The new iPad Pro introduces **Face ID**, eliminating the need for a home button. This allows familiar iPhone X gestures to come to the iPad, such as swiping down from the upper right corner to access control center or swiping up to access the app switcher. The A12X Bionic chip powers these devices with an 8-core CPU (four performance cores and four high-efficiency cores), a 7-core GPU delivering twice the performance of previous generations, and a Neural Engine capable of five trillion operations per second.
Storage options now go up to **one terabyte**, and for the first time on iPad Pro, there’s support for **USB-C**. This enables connections to external displays up to 5K resolution or accessories like cameras and musical instruments. USB-C also allows charging via the port, enabling users to charge their iPhone while on the go.
The second-generation Apple Pencil has been redesigned to magnetically attach to the iPad Pro. It automatically pairs and charges wirelessly, with a new feature allowing users to tap twice to switch modes—such as between tools and erasers in Notes.
Pricing for the 11-inch iPad Pro starts at **$799**, while the 12.9-inch model begins at **$999**. Both will be available starting next week, on the 7th.
These updates represent a significant leap forward in computing power and user experience. Whether it’s the sleek new MacBook Air, the powerful Mac mini, or the groundbreaking iPad Pro, Apple continues to push the boundaries of what is possible with its products.
