Testing Internet Speed: A Live Experiment

hey guys i'm just going to test my internet speed live for you because i've just because i'm curious now to see what my internet speed is after i've done a little tweaking uh safari here so here i'm using safari 4 webkit also running a few notepad documents and a screen recorder as well as an email client and skype so my cpu is a little busy but we'll see what kind of speeds i get first we're going to test in new york 13 megs a second 12 12 and a half 13 13 megabytes a second so that's good download speed my upload speed has always been crap 1.5 megs a second so that's pretty decent using the option online i'm going to test uh two more times here so first test got decent results and that's going to load up all the servers again fade out and it'll tell me my results so now i'm going to go to test again at speedtest.net

you go to my summary it's telling me that i'm faster than 90 97 of the global connections in the world um my average is also obviously not very high but my best is 86 megabytes per second new jersey average is eight megabytes per second so that just tells you how how incredible my isp is and then you go to global stats another pretty cool thing you can also search uh just in your um in your town alone who has the fastest connection so i'm going to go to north america say i want to see who has a fast connection in new york so i'm just going to go to i have to go to the united states and i'll go to new york and i'll just search new york city who has the fastest connection in new york city new jklmn new york show city stats and apparently if i was in new york city i would want to live in that hospital and get in 30 39 megabytes per second internet access of course i would not want to live in that hospital but yeah that's download results upload results are a little different however a
