"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso these gigantic headphones on my head are the focal bathies or focal batis I believe is the French I'm not sure if that's actually the correct way the French would say but it is a French company um and so yeah anyways the focal bathies are a luxury High Fidelity high-end pair of wireless headphones and obviously my first instinct is to compare them to the next pair of very expensive headphones that I own and that is the airpods max and we're gonna do that in some instances this isn't going to be a direct one-to-one comparison more of a review of these but with some comments towards how they stack up against the airpods max but before we jump right in I do want to say that if you end up liking this video please hit that like button subscribe especially if you've been coming back to the channel but you still for some reason has haven't subscribed uh that would be a huge help for me and I would greatly appreciate it but of course I want to hear from you in the comments down below what are your thoughts on these uh if you've watched the video for a while and you decide okay I'm going to comment I have some thoughts please please please engage with me in the comments down below and if you want an engagement starter let me tell you the price tag because this is one of the biggest flaws for me personally and for what I assume most people out there and that's these are 7.99 but before you start yelling in the comments which I encourage you to do just get a little bit of context these are luxury high-end high fidelity headphones they have the best sound quality of any pair that I currently own and I've tested a lot you can go back on the channel and see all the headphones reviews we've done and so for the sub 1000 price range the airpods max were probably my king alongside the Sony 1000xm5s whatever the latest Sony over ears were this trumps those headphones in sound quality sound quality is a big thing for headphones obviously there are other factors though that do take a hit but for sound quality if you want to know the best sounding headphones that I own it's currently these and so 7.99 isn't that bad in theory when you think about that but also the lineup of focal products um are very expensive just the audio equipment and the other headphones that they offer are thousands and thousands of dollars and so in the grand scheme of things this is a lot cheaper compared to that but I totally understand 7.99 is kind of a lot that is my biggest complaint about these but that's the only time I'm really going to mention that the rest is up to you on whether or not you even want to remotely entertain the idea of 799. I will say people thought 549 was a lot for the airpods Max and these are selling pretty well so I would imagine that there is a market out there and so let's get into the design because the design I have some comments um it's very well made it looks incredibly premium though looks can be a little bit deceiving because I don't know exactly what is metal and what is plastic this all kind of feels like it would be metal but also feels like plastic it's very lightweight which is great but I think most of this area here is plastic there is many metal in the headband which is good and you know it's got a decent amount of give or I mean extension to it but it's not a whole lot uh pretty flexible the headband itself is all leather and then there's like some cloth here and the ear cups themselves are also they're removable which is good because when you hear Leather Ear cups the first thing you're going to think of is those are going to get gross and ruined and be the first things to go on a 7.99 pair of headphones but here as you can see I just took them off pretty easily you can eventually replace them or put in I'm guessing third-party options if you want but I think these are incredibly comfortable yes they are massive and so over time with massive over ear headphones they do start to hurt a little bit same can be said with the airpods max which I thought were very comfortable these are big and over time they do apply a lot of pressure but for the most part for you know I did a whole plane ride with them they were great they were comfortable four hours straight of listening to music or watching movies and I was pretty happy with what we had here so yeah I guess not using full premium metal all the way around round is probably good because these would be really really heavy but they do look really really cool I know the design might be kind of Hit or Miss for some people but I do like this perforated design reminds me a lot of the pro display and like the Mac Pro even though it's not like a lattice look it's still kind of like that at least to me in terms of buttons on the left ear cup you really just have one button and I don't really know what it does off the top of my head I believe this button is your noise control button it's either that or like the Siri assistant button one of them does that and then there's another little Phantom button over here that doesn't have a logo next to it so one of those is either the voice assistant and one of them is uh the noise control and so you have those there I just off the top of my head could not remember which one is which and then you have this little like rocker here for volume up and down and then the middle button obviously selects songs play pause double tap to go ahead triple tap to go back and then you have here a proper on off switch which Apple if you're listening proper on off switches are helpful you can turn on the headphones you can turn them off or you can flip in the middle to go to DAC DAC digital analog converter which you use the USBC cable inside that the box and you can plug this into your phone directly and you would be able to listen to High Fidelity music pretty much at the maximum bit rate in fact the exact wording is that thanks to DAC mode this is according to focal's website thanks to dock mode connected with the USBC on your device you can enjoy music without compression and with a resolution of up to 24 bits at 192 kilohertz but overall with the design I I definitely enjoy it I have no complaints I know some people have complained about some of the build kind of falling apart after long periods of use I've had these for a little bit and I have been using them pretty much every day and I've noticed no issues with build quality but this isn't a super long term review and so you're gonna have to check back in with me in maybe a few months maybe I'll do a follow-up if you're interested but yeah so far they are really good and they hold up really well and also this logo here when you turn um on the headphones one of the sides or if not both of the sides they actually light up and so that could be kind of cool but the light is very bright and so yeah that could just heads up if you're on a plane or something you might want to turn the light off I believe you can do that in the app because it gets pretty bright okay so I touched on sound quality at the beginning we'll touch on that a little bit more but the next big things for headphones these days are active noise cancellation and transparency modes active noise cancellation for these headphones um when you have music playing to me sound just as good as airpods Max I can't really hear anything at all in terms of outside noise maybe a little bit of the plane uh engine noise going on but at a coffee shop add a house with my kids running around you know I put the headphones on I turn on audio primarily with music with movies that's a different story but with music going on where it's constantly playing loud stuff at you it's perfectly fine I can't hear a single thing airpods Max is going to be my Baseline for this airpods Max do a better job of isolating sound when you don't have anything else playing or if you're listening to something lower like you just have like a lot of audio coming from you know movie or TV show The vocals just spoken things um these are not as good as airpods Max but they're they're fine they're they should be better for 7.99 but they're good it's just not as good as others even not as good as the Sony wh-1000xm5s so that's kind of where the ANC becomes a little bit you know concerning but other than that when you're playing constant music it sounds really really good and and not to say that these are bad when you have music off and you just kind of try and isolate the plane sounds but it's just not as good as some of the other you know less expensive but still premium headphones that are out on the market transparency on the other hand is incredibly good in fact one of the best that I've tested that are not airpods Max I feel like air pods do a fantastic job both in-ear and of course the max over ear headphones at transparency and no other company out there aside from beats which is not fair because that's also an Apple company really comes close and so that was something that I was very impressed with when it came to the focal bathies they have very good transparency and I was a big fan of that and then sound quality we touched on but these are pretty neutral to start but I feel like they did a good job of emphasizing the low end when the song calls for emphasizing the low end it had a very rich Sound Stage the profile was more again neutral but could lean a little warm just because over here headphones tend to produce more bass obviously there are bigger drivers and bigger things going on inside the headphones themselves and by the way the way these things are constructed highly recommend just looking it up online there's a lot of jargon and Technical terms that I don't understand but these were pretty highly engineered over engineered I might say but pretty highly engineered but yeah these produce incredible sound quality they are the best headphones that I own not including the new Dyson that I just got because I haven't had a chance to fully test those yet I remember being very impressed with them at CES but that was a very brief time but so far out of the ones that I've really used a lot these are the best over ear headphones in terms of sound quality uh and so if you do not like the sound of them when you get them out of the box the good news is you can actually mess around with that in the EQ there is an EQ inside of the app it's a five band EQ which I would have liked to have seen maybe like in a nine band something a little bit more but five is fine you can kind of get the gist of what you want to change and be able to customize and so that's really really good um but yeah I mean you can change eqs are always great you can always customize the way you want create custom presets I don't think you're going to be walking away from these headphones not liking the way they sound whether it be completely out of the box without touching anything or with you know spending like five minutes inside of the app touching the EQ and messing around with it and speaking of the app I guess now's a good time as ever to mention what the rest of the app can do obviously I just mentioned the EQ your five band you can mess around with that here inside the app then you have a noise cancellation setting really you can't do a whole lot in terms of adjustments but what you can do is go from Silent which is the maximum setting for uh noise cancellation so your maximum noise canceling allowed then they're soft which is in the middle of transparency which is the next option so you can either go full transparent where it's letting in tons of sound on purpose soft which is a little bit in between and then silent which is you know full on trying to block out the outside world and then the last thing inside of the app is the LED which you can go from Bright dim to off and so if you want to turn that off you can you can keep it on dim or keep it fully bright why not there's also your battery life indicator which a quick shot on on the battery life it's pretty good it's like a little over 30 hours of use which is great um and if you do 15 minutes of charging you can get five hours of battery life so got a little bit of a quick charge you know ability to it and then if you hit the settings here you can configure The Voice Assistant which is you know Siri or Alexa and you can also uh mess around with auto standby so that basically it'll just turn on and off on its own or you can use the switch if you would like and that's really it the app doesn't have a whole lot after that but that's pretty much all you need so yeah I mean in a nutshell these are fantastic headphones in terms of sound quality listening to music watching content I've noticed no delays or anything in terms of watching content I would hope not but Bluetooth and everything sounds amazing obviously you're not getting uh spatial audio and you know Dolby Atmos dynamic head tracking like you would get with the airpods max but these are more for music but you can watch movies and feel just um just fine knowing that these are delivering incredible sound but these are more for music and wow listening to music is incredible on here and so these are by far the best sounding headphones anc's kind of it's a little mid but it's not bad and you know transparency is very very good right up there with airpods Max that's kind of my like quick overall thoughts on the focal bathies I do recommend them if you're in the market for very very good high-end music listening wireless headphones um if you're trying to look for more of uh you know budgety friendly I never thought I would say 350 is a budget-friendly you know Market uh but you know that that might be more of the Sony's but I think these are really really good obviously we all as consumers want cheaper the better but for the price I don't think you're going to be disappointed if you're looking to spend something in that price point uh now if you're wondering where you can buy these that's actually where today's sponsor uh comes into play and that's headphones.com headphones.com is a unique company absolutely committed to excellent audio and to giving people the best experience they try everything and carry products that they really believe in like the focal bathies and obviously vocal or focal as a company really believes in headphones.com because this is the only place that you can buy these headphones at least in the US there is another website for you Australian people out there but for those who live in the US headphones.com is your only place to pick up these headphones they're luxurious they're noise canceling they're Wireless and they're great you can also check out their online shop there's a supportive Community a great customer service center and in-depth reviews along with a 365 day return policy they really want you to be happy with your purchase and so that's something you really can't take for granted 365 day return policy is almost unheard of and so that's something I really do appreciate so go ahead and run over to headphones.com and be sure to click the link in the description for more information about the local bathies but also headphones.com and yeah tell them I sent you and let me know if you end up buying anything this is Medina with Mac Rumors thanks so much for watching and I hope to see you around in the next videoso these gigantic headphones on my head are the focal bathies or focal batis I believe is the French I'm not sure if that's actually the correct way the French would say but it is a French company um and so yeah anyways the focal bathies are a luxury High Fidelity high-end pair of wireless headphones and obviously my first instinct is to compare them to the next pair of very expensive headphones that I own and that is the airpods max and we're gonna do that in some instances this isn't going to be a direct one-to-one comparison more of a review of these but with some comments towards how they stack up against the airpods max but before we jump right in I do want to say that if you end up liking this video please hit that like button subscribe especially if you've been coming back to the channel but you still for some reason has haven't subscribed uh that would be a huge help for me and I would greatly appreciate it but of course I want to hear from you in the comments down below what are your thoughts on these uh if you've watched the video for a while and you decide okay I'm going to comment I have some thoughts please please please engage with me in the comments down below and if you want an engagement starter let me tell you the price tag because this is one of the biggest flaws for me personally and for what I assume most people out there and that's these are 7.99 but before you start yelling in the comments which I encourage you to do just get a little bit of context these are luxury high-end high fidelity headphones they have the best sound quality of any pair that I currently own and I've tested a lot you can go back on the channel and see all the headphones reviews we've done and so for the sub 1000 price range the airpods max were probably my king alongside the Sony 1000xm5s whatever the latest Sony over ears were this trumps those headphones in sound quality sound quality is a big thing for headphones obviously there are other factors though that do take a hit but for sound quality if you want to know the best sounding headphones that I own it's currently these and so 7.99 isn't that bad in theory when you think about that but also the lineup of focal products um are very expensive just the audio equipment and the other headphones that they offer are thousands and thousands of dollars and so in the grand scheme of things this is a lot cheaper compared to that but I totally understand 7.99 is kind of a lot that is my biggest complaint about these but that's the only time I'm really going to mention that the rest is up to you on
