This Is Not Ant Man
Behind-the-Scenes Look at How I Shoot My Videos
Welcome to something just a tad different than usual today, guys! I'm Maas, and I'm excited to give you a tour of my studio and show you how I shoot my videos. You've all been wondering what's behind the scenes, and I thought it would be fun to take this camera and walk you through everything.
As you can see from my point of view, there's a camera up there, screen right here, keyboard, mouse, and my computer is over there with some other stuff like a clock. Now, let's go through the setup real quick. First, we start off with the camera. It's then hooked up via HDMI out all the way to the computer over here. You can clearly see that we have a live feed going into the computer.
The minute I press this button, it starts rolling. The entire setup is ready to go, and you can see that when I press this button again, it stops rolling. That's pretty much it. We've got a clock that usually displays the incorrect date, my YouTube plaques, and a mic. This mic goes all the way back to the audio interface over here, as you can see when I talk, it lights up, and ties it back into the audio.
This setup allows me to quickly and efficiently record videos with an extremely automated process. I don't have to worry about SD cards; I don't have to worry about batteries; I don't have to worry about much of anything. It also lends itself to gaming, so when I do whack apps, I actually bring up OBS, which is a recording program, and record both simultaneously in the same screen.
Now, enough with the boring stuff! What's behind me? First, we have a wall, uh, this is my blank wall. I like this wall; it's blank, and I don't want to ever put anything on this wall just to clarify, so don't even suggest anything, okay? Then, we get to the Shelf. Darth Vader is chillin', contrary to popular belief, he's not an Ant-Man mask; he's actually a Guardians of the Galaxy Star-Lord.
This is my orb, haven't been able to get that puppy open, I hear it's pretty dangerous though, so I'm not entirely sure you could see all of my books. Harry Potter, Star Wars film books for the majority since all of these posters are typically out of focus. I'll go through them; Inception, Harry Potter, Interstellar, this is clearly Star Wars again, and Guardians of the Galaxy; one of my favorite Marvel films.
Look more books, and bb8, hey dude! Now that we've seen what's behind me, let's talk about where I do most of my editing. I got my three screens set up here; audio interface connected to two monitors. Got my favorite poster, love this poster, don't you guys love this poster? It's great, um, one of my favorite sayings by Steve JWs: "I'm always hungry B," and "I'm pretty stupid." So, that works out really well for me.
This right here is a typewriter, old-school. This is where I typically sit down and write all of my scripts; not often, but when I do, editing is a lot like this. Just look down, type a bit, and look back up, move the mouse around, and drink plenty of water from this bottle.
That's it for today, guys! I hope you enjoyed this little behind-the-scenes look at how I shoot my videos. If you got any more questions, leave them in the comments below, and I'll try to respond as best I can; I'll do my best high-five
