NOKIA LUMIA 900 REVIEW _VERY IN DEPTH!!!

**A Review of the Nokia N9: A Smart Phone with a Lot to Offer**

As I held the Nokia N9 in my hands, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and curiosity. The phone's sleek design and compact size made it easy to slip into a pocket or purse, making it the perfect accessory for those who want a device that can keep up with their active lifestyle.

The phone's display was one of its standout features, showcasing vibrant colors and crisp images even in the harsh daylight. However, I noticed that the sun's glare seemed to make certain areas of the screen appear black, and my attempts at taking macro shots were met with limited success. Despite these issues, the phone's default settings produced some impressive results, particularly in terms of image quality.

One aspect of the N9 that caught my attention was its camera capabilities. Although I wasn't entirely impressed with the camera's performance, I did appreciate its potential and the fact that it came equipped with a Carl Zeiss lens combination. This partnership between Nokia and Carl Zeiss is renowned for producing high-quality cameras, and I couldn't help but wonder what could have been if the N9 had been able to live up to its full potential.

The phone's system sounds were another feature that left me feeling delighted. The gentle beeps and chimes that accompanied each action were endearing and cute, much like a droplet of water refreshing my ears. I even enjoyed turning up the volume to its maximum extent, reveling in the sound quality that came with it.

One of the things that struck me most about the N9 was its ease of use. The phone's interface was intuitive and user-friendly, making it simple for anyone to navigate through its various features and functions. The app management system, which allowed users to access all their apps at once in a straight line, was particularly convenient.

The Nokia N9 also boasted impressive technical specs, including GPS, Wi-Fi, and a decent speaker. However, reception issues were still present, even after an update that improved connectivity. This, combined with the phone's ability to offer significant savings through AT&T's early upgrade program, made it a compelling option for those looking for a new device.

Overall, I found the Nokia N9 to be a well-rounded and enjoyable smartphone experience. With its compact design, impressive display, and user-friendly interface, it was an excellent choice for anyone seeking a reliable companion that could keep up with their daily needs. Although some minor issues with camera performance and reception persisted, these were largely outweighed by the phone's many strengths.

**The Nokia N9: A Smartphone with a Personal Touch**

As I delved deeper into my review of the Nokia N9, I couldn't help but feel that this phone was more than just a device – it was an extension of its owner's personality. The subtle animations and soft chimes that accompanied each action were like a warm hug for the senses, making me want to interact with the phone even more.

One feature that stood out to me was the phone's ability to recognize and respond to user input. Whether I was typing away at the on-screen keyboard or speaking into the microphone, the N9 seemed to understand exactly what I needed. This intuitive response made it incredibly easy to communicate, whether through text messages, emails, or voice calls.

The Nokia N9 also had a way of making me feel like I was part of something special – an exclusive club that valued simplicity and elegance above all else. The phone's sleek design, compact size, and user-friendly interface created an experience that was both refined and effortless.

In many ways, the Nokia N9 felt like a breath of fresh air in a world where smartphones were rapidly becoming more complex and overwhelming. It was as if the phone knew exactly what I needed, always adapting to my every move with ease and finesse. Whether I was browsing through social media, checking emails, or simply enjoying some quiet time, the N9 was there for me, ready to provide its unique brand of companionship.

**The Nokia N9: A True Companion**

It was more than just a phone – it was an extension of myself, a trusted companion that knew exactly what I needed and when. Whether I was out and about or curled up on the couch, the N9 was always there by my side, ready to provide its unique brand of support and reassurance.

One aspect of this relationship that struck me was the phone's ability to anticipate my needs. Whether I was checking email or browsing through social media, the N9 seemed to know exactly when I needed a break from screens. It would subtly suggest switching to a different app or interface, providing an opportunity for me to rest my eyes and recharge.

The Nokia N9 also had a way of making me feel connected to others, even in times of solitude. Its built-in social media features allowed me to easily share updates with friends and family, creating a sense of community that was both comforting and invigorating. Whether I was reaching out to someone new or simply catching up with an old friend, the N9 provided an seamless experience that felt like second nature.

As I wrapped up my review of the Nokia N9, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for this incredible device. It had become more than just a phone – it was a true companion, one that knew exactly what I needed and when. Whether I was navigating through a busy day or simply enjoying some quiet time, the N9 was always there by my side, ready to provide its unique brand of companionship and support.

**The Nokia N9: A Phone for the Modern Age**

As we look to the future of smartphones, it's clear that Nokia's latest offering is one that will stand the test of time. With its sleek design, user-friendly interface, and intuitive features, the Nokia N9 is a device that will appeal to anyone seeking a reliable companion that can keep up with their busy lifestyle.

One aspect of the N9 that I believe sets it apart from other smartphones on the market is its commitment to simplicity and elegance. In an era where devices are becoming increasingly complex and feature-rich, the Nokia N9 offers a refreshing respite – a reminder that sometimes, less really is more.

Whether you're a seasoned smartphone user or just looking for a new device to try out, I highly recommend considering the Nokia N9. Its impressive display, intuitive interface, and user-friendly features make it an excellent choice for anyone seeking a reliable companion that can keep up with their daily needs.

**The Verdict**

In conclusion, my review of the Nokia N9 has left me feeling impressed, delighted, and perhaps even a little bit wistful. This smartphone may not be perfect – its camera capabilities, while impressive, could have been better refined – but what it lacks in performance is more than made up for by its commitment to simplicity, elegance, and user-friendly design.

Whether you're looking for a reliable companion that can keep up with your busy lifestyle or simply seeking a device that feels personal and intuitive, the Nokia N9 is an excellent choice. Its sleek design, impressive display, and intuitive features make it an unbeatable option in this crowded market – and I have no doubt that this phone will remain a favorite for years to come.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello crazy consumer electronic fans my name is Erica and today I'm going to be doing for you a full Real World review on the Nokia Lumia 900 so what is a real world review you ask well you know on YouTube how they have these specification based reviews and they get quite boring and really redundant I'm going to be doing for you something that's a little bit different I'm going to really get into the meat of Wis like to use this phone and all day-to-day practicalities with the operating system systems like how does it really compare to Android versus iPhone cuz this is something that's entirely new and very different so if you stay with me we'll get into it and it will be great fun and I'll try to answer every possible real world question that I can think of of what it's actually like to use this particular device all right the first thing that I like to start with is the form factor of the phone and what it feels like so it is a very interesting design that I haven't actually seen on any other phone it's one solid piece of polycarbonate plastic which is pretty awesome because if you you scratch it or drop it whether you have the blue or the Black Version it's one particular color all the way through so you probably won't see scratches as easily so that's definitely a plus it is Gorilla Glass it's a 4.3 in screen so it's I haven't put any screen protector on it so far and it's held up really well I've had it in my pocket all week pulling it out messing with it doing this and that so it actually looks pretty substantial as far as the glass goes so thinness it's really thin phone it feels very heavy it doesn't have any type of creaking or anything it just I love that it's it's awesome see when I play I had the iPhone 4 before and what I didn't like about the iPhone is what a lot of people do like is it's all glass and it would freak me out all the time like I'm going to drop it and it's going to shatter the back and it's going to look ugly but this is very Hardy plastic I love this this is this is so this is awesome the camera also doesn't protrude and it looks very nice very stylish so it's it's just it's pretty cool and as far as size compared to other phones this is you know the king of Android the Galaxy Note it's you know not too big not too bad so I'll actually do a pocket test it's what I actually love to do is play dress up and put on my dad's pair of jeans is that weird it's probably weird but it's kind of it's kind of funny so I'm going to do it so hold on one second all right so here we have girl jeans girl jeans are always more snug and tight fitting as opposed to do jeans so you can see that it's actually I love the really thin form factor so you can just stick in your pocket goes like so so I don't can't really feel it you know not too bad I can sit down without many problems it does hit here for me but that's because these pants are very snug fitting like all female jeans so it's not too bad at all I love that I mean that's that's awesome as compared to something is huge and Behemoth like like the Galaxy Note see this this is like the bigest phone that you can possibly think of that's huge that's that's kind of I walk around with my Galaxy Note like this anyway so I don't really care but you can see that not so good fitting this fifth grade La all right now for the guyene test as you can see my dad is a rather large chap so let's try to get this situated I am a small girl too so we have to take that into account here's the phone put in the pocket you know you you can't feel that at all I mean that that's awesome you actually have to kind of fish for it nope that's not it there we go yep T see not bad at all so you don't have to worry about size as far as this guy all righty so I really love the operating system the Windows 7 operating system which really isn't given as much credit as it should be unless you've actually fully played with it and used it in day-to-day use it's it's really simple and very awesome very aesthetically pleasing it's very easy to access all the menus that you need although I do wish that there was an easier way to actually see how much battery you know the battery status label because you actually have to go into settings and go under um battery saving and then it tells you what your percentage left of battery is so I really wish that they would have that where you can see it at all times one thing about the operating system is that you can't actually have a cool background it's just going to be the tiles and the black or you can switch it and have it be white and have still color tiles um the only place can actually have that type of customization is on the front screen it's kind of old school like apple in the very beginning where it could only be black um I'm hoping that they get rid of that it's actually annoying when you like to personalize your things so that's something to be wary of if you are really into customization of your phones so how about screen quality then a lot of people say that they don't like it but I actually really like this screen it I think it's quite beautiful it's only 800 by 480 pixels which is why I'm sure people are complaining as they're used to having the 720 displays but it isn't a pentile display thank goodness like the Galaxy Note you do have a line Arrangement the red blue and green you don't have to worry about any seeing any weird sub pixels being shared and anything looking edgy or fuzzy but since it is a little bit low resolution you do see some Jagged areas on text but that really doesn't bother me uh the AMOLED screen itself I think is quite pretty and the color saturation is absolutely beautiful as well so I noticed while watching a movie on this guy you know Netflix versus looking at it on the Galaxy note that the color saturation and representation is a lot better so this does show really vibrant true colors I really love it for that especially because the Super AMOLED or yeah the Super AMOLED plus displays have a lot of issue with showing weird colors especially during black that's another thing that I wanted to say is that my Galaxy Note was quite frustrating that anytime you see something black during video or in pictures it shows kind of grainy clipping where it just doesn't show black correctly it looks purple or green or something else like really messy and ugly this has no problem at all everything it's a clear black display which is the technology this is what uh Nokia calls this so it's so pretty you guys you know if the screen is holding you back from getting this phone I know it's not extremely high resolution but don't listen go on go into the AT&T store or wherever and play with it yourself you'll see that it's actually quite pretty so I really like it that's really all I have got to say so how about social networking integration on this phone I can say that Windows has done a phenomenal Fantastical awesome job making this a definite point to do all your social networking needs that's what it's so cool I I I really like it I'm sorry I'm I'm just getting really excited because because I finally see something that works right and it's just so cool okay so I'll just I'll just tell you why it's cool you know it's probably a good thing to tell you why something's awesome so everything is integrated on this phone there is a tile that's called the people tile so if you go under the people tile it's really awesome because you can see everything from Windows Live to Twitter to Facebook and uh even your most recent messages that you have in your text message thread so that's so cool you can see exactly what you said to that person just say if I want to talk to my mom no about my twin sister I actually do have a twin sister she looks nothing like me um I'll show you a picture yeah well because she's not here but I got to show you I do have a twin so I'm going to go into her tile what's really cool is you can see her profile you can scroll over to the right and you can see what's new you can scroll over you can see her pictures you can see her history and I can access her from right here so if I look under her profile it gives me text message I can write on her wall and I can get to her mobile phone right then and there I can just click on it it calls her and it's I love it that is it's the best integrated feature that I've seen on any phone is as far as social networking goes hands down no questions asked it's Windows phone is the bomb as far as doing that it's just so cool if you are a social networker and want to see what's happening right off the bat for everybody this is definitely the phone for you because it's so seamlessly integrated and I really love it it's going to be hard to go back to Android and have to open up several different apps even though I do have the dynamic live widgets on my home screen what's really neat about this phone is if you are heavily reliant on everything Google like Google Calendar Google contacts um you can definitely set up yourself several accounts you can set up several Gmail accounts and also your contacts will be pushing through Google and as well as your calendar as well so you can look on your live tiles and you can click on the tile app and you can get to your all your stuff you know monthly date to there's also integrated to-do so it's this is just so neat the Calendar app it just all goes through Google and all becomes integrated onto here with the new interface that uh Windows has put before you so so so cool you guys uh everything is right there easy accessible just it's awesome how about the keyboard and the texting app on this thing I can say that the texting and using this phone for texting is phenomenal I've been kind of annoyed with Android because a lot of people know that as you're sitting there typing along la la it puts periods in random places and you'll have like hello period my name period is period so it's like what are you trying to do emphasize something how are you period doing today period it's like do you have a problem no it's just the stupid Android it doesn't correct that putting too many periods but what's cool is that if it does do a wrong word and didn't recognize it right off you can click on the word it'll highlight it and you can uh go through through the assortment of words and fix it essentially just like Android phones and Apple phones you can dictate your texts so say you're bad and you want to answer text while you're driving I'm not condoning texting while driving anybody watching I'm just saying that you can dictate text okay okay so you do to the far right there is a little microphone you can see say your message Hi how are you doing today I am fine and stuff Hi how are you doing today I'm fine and stuff so that's cool it uh it is really good at recognizing the text that you say and speak into it and it spits back at you um it takes a little bit longer and it makes a do sound and it's kind of extraneous stuff that you don't need but it's nice and it works well and it's integrated the one thing I noticed is that you can't say period or comma it'll actually spell out period and comma which is kind of so say your message I am fine period how are you question mark yeah so I am fine period how are you question marks but then it did put a period at the end so it has an idea that you're supposed to have a you know stif of punctuation say your message how are you let's see if it recognizes the question yes it does so maybe it works by intonation rather than saying question mark because it knew automatically to put how are you with a question mark although I'm sure that also is programmed into its database and it Knows by going online that it matches with something that's a common question and it puts the correct punctuation but that's pretty Advanced that's kind of cool now this phone is only limited to 16 gigb of data uh you don't have any type of Micro SD card slot anywhere which is a little bit annoying but you do have a Sky Drive which I think has 25 GB of memory for you to use but anyway what's really cool is that you do have the Microsoft Office app that is integrated into the system um you can do word you can make Word documents you can make Excel documents and you can view PowerPoint but you can't edit PowerPoint because I guess CPU is just it's just not powerful enough on this phone um but what's really cool is you do get one note integration and you can either sync it with the phone or you can have it go to the sky drive I will say that the one thing that this guy is really missing is the lack of app support that Apple and Android have so there's less than 100,000 apps um they hopefully they'll be catching up especially when Windows 8 is released I know that developers are being actually paid to create all kinds of apps and I'm extremely excited for that but right now um if you if you want to play you know draw something with friends you can't do that if you want to play Cut the Rope while there you can check out the uh Internet Explorer version of Cut the Rope but it's extremely slow because there's not much processing power on this phone and very unplayable and one thing I noticed is that the good apps are actually quite expensive under the market they go from like a dollar but a lot of them are up to $4.99 so that's unacceptable especially when I can get it on my Android phone for free um but you know the point is that that some of the apps are quite expensive and I haven't actually been wanting to purchase many apps just for that reason although I have found quite fun free apps like pen gems that is check out pen gems any of you guys who like Windows phone it's really cool awesome game so really I'm just hoping that when that the next Edition Windows 8 will have more apps because it's there is no plan and development for several popular apps which is a little bit of a bummer uh but there are some games on here rest assured you just might have to pay a little bit more for them so it's okay it's just that's one thing that really disappointed me about this phone so how about actually using it as a phone how is the call Quality it's not going to be a very great phone to you if it sounds like garbage I can say that the reception is quite awesome on this phone not only that but the call Quality is great this is one of the best qual call Quality uh examples that I've seen on any phone so the speaker phone is really nice and loud you got a full speaker Grill at the bottom that pretty much extends all the way from side to side uh the it's just it's great I get uh I have really bad signal in my house for both the Verizon and AT&T and I've noticed that I'm still able to get relatively great 4G speeds I I get about 10 megabits per second still with having low reception so that that's awesome that is quite this is if you are looking for a solid solid phone that works as a phone and the second as a PDA phone but still has all those great features this this is really good you guys all right how about the antennas as far as GPS and Wii Wi-Fi does really well it gets a really strong signal on this phone I haven't had any issues with that whatsoever um as far as the GPS if you're I noticed I I had actually used this going to school the other day and it kept losing signal I thought I thought that was the oddest thing it's a relatively crowded you know Highway and it just Lo kept losing GPS signal like every couple seconds and then it was really off and it was really weird and very agitating so it's when you in an area where it can get a satellite fix it fixes really fast and it stays connected and it works really well when you can actually get a satellite fix um I really do like what Nokia has as far as the GPS software I it's called Nokia drive and it's a really good turn BYT based GPS the one thing that really bothers me about about it is that it doesn't have it doesn't actually list off street names for you it will tell you turn left turn right blah blah blah go into the highway but and that's a little bit scary because you won't know which turn off exactly but what I can say is that it warns you constantly turn now turn now turn now you know like about 200 feet turn now turn so you do have uh at least some reassurance that it's it constantly updates you so even though it doesn't tell you in specific the street names it really does work really well um what I really do like about this particular GPS software Nokia Drive is that really what's what's built and integrated into it is that you it tells you how fast you're going so some of you guys know that my car is a piece of crap and um the speedometer broke so when I've been using this I've actually known how fast I'm going and I'm actually pretty accurate so I I'm pretty proud of myself so the GPS it's great when it works I noticed it was having a little a little bit of glitchiness maybe there wasn't a satellite that was in that area but when it does connect it works really well it connects fast and it stays connected so I don't know I'm hoping that's just a fluke you guys can test it out yourself as well but um it is pretty substantial GPS it also has what's really cool is that you can download maps and have them on there if it's if you don't have internet connection and what's also cool is that you can choose several different languages I had a really cool European Butler really heavy British a and I'm like and my friend and his family were like what you're so weird I'm like I know you know but um I love doing this so whatever all righty so how about battery life how does that really function on this phone well Windows phone what's really nice right now is that it does just need a single core because the operating system is so simple and doesn't have a lot of needs for heavy CPU processing so the battery does last pretty long um I get straight through the day just fine without any issue or problem so if it has really good battery life um even being able even connected to 4G I'm sure that the fact that I'm in a really low um signal area does hurt the battery a little bit because it's constantly trying to make sure that it stays connected but the battery is pretty good you know just for example I'll take it off at 10: a.m. in the morning 9:00 a.m. and I'm good till about 11: at night and uh that's with pretty substantial use although the GPS I do have to say is a huge battery drain I had the GPS on for about a half hour and it drains about 1% per minute so you know it was a little bit over 20% by the time i' had got into school I'm like oh crap so GPS is a battery hog oh well you know just just be wary of that or maybe have something to plug into your card you know car jack to charge it car charger you know the one of those things so but otherwise the battery life is pretty substantial and I and I really like it so that's that's all that's also a plus I cracked like a pubescent boy so what if you're a crazy phone fanatic like me and you're not content with just one cell phone because you get bored easily I don't know maybe that that's the only way I can put it um what's not too good is that this takes a micro SIM on the top of the phone it's very simple on top of the phone you just have your headphone jack your charging micro USB and then there is a door to put in your micro SIM that's a problem because if you are coming from a phone that has a regular SIM card just the standard size SIM card you're going to have to go to the AT&T store throw out that old SIM card and you're going to have to get a micro SIM um although you can get something that's called a micro SIM adapter it's a little piece of plastic that looks like a standard size SIM but it has a little cutout that fits um where the little micro SIM fits perfectly in there you just have to be careful because some phones uh will actually get the it the micro SIM adapter will get stuck in the phone and it can break your contact so I'm going to end up trying to get some Capon tape and kind of make it so there's no edginess around it so it doesn't pull on the tabs because my Galaxy Note I'm going to reach all over here and get the Galaxy Note has just a regular slot but the problem is that the pins are so small and stuck in there not in a very genius way so that if you pull it out the edges that are along that micro SIMs adapter will just break the SIM card slot and I won't have a Galaxy Note anymore so I have been indeed uh using this as my primary phone and this as my tablet um so just keep that in mind if you are going if you're planning to go back and forth to different phones although it's probably Irrelevant for most people who are normal unlike me okay so this is where things get bad um look at the face this is the face of sincerity and confusion when I found out that you can't actually ammount a Windows phone via USB you got to actually use connector software or the stupid Zoom software that's a major fail Windows I'm really hoping that Apollo is released soon this is going to be Windows new operating system that's convergent between tablet and phone and desktop as well which is really awesome and I'm really waiting for that because they still use the zoom software and the zoom is a very failed MP3 player you know what's the zoom I don't know uh but they do use zoom software and you have to connect via your computer you know you can use your Windows computer and the zoom software is in there and that's essentially how you transfer videos and that gets quite annoying because it anytime you put a video on here there's there's several formats you have you can use MP4 you can also I think you can use you know the Windows media uh video setting but um every time you put a video on here it wants to convert it like automatically I have Harry Potter videos I always use that as my example that are put in the exact correct format they're supposed to be in um h.264 and I put it through Zoom software and it still tries convert it which takes an infinite amount of time all right waited like an hour and a half and it was only like 6% done so I'm like screw this this is horrible so I'm hoping that there are easier ways to get um movies on here um I'm sure there's some easy way that I'm just not thinking of but the zoom software is going to try to convert it pretty much no matter what and put it on to your device which kind of sucks and makes me want to punch it and throw it on the floor but um but you can also transfer video files via your Apple computer there's a software that's called connector software and it works pretty well so you can use it with your with the connector software and it still takes like an infinite amount of time so that's that's the biggest bummer as far as um this guy because it's such a pretty screen you know at least I think it's a pretty screen and a lot of people will agree with me and you do have some trouble getting movies on here but if you're not a huge movie person you're probably going to be watching Netflix or you watch YouTube then you'll be just fine so if anybody has any comments or any further experience please say something cuz this is this is a huge deal for me cuz I mean look what I I make videos and stuff and movies are important to me so help me figure that out maybe I'm missing something so how is the camera quality on this thing this guy has a much hyped Carl's Ice lens with a 2.2 aperture and it's wide angle so that's a lot to think about when it comes to a camera essentially it means it's supposed to work really well it's supposed to do pretty well in low lighting and it's supposed to get a full wide picture view of everything going on instead of a little tiny box um I can definitely show you some examples I'm going to be doing them right from the camera from the back camera and the front camera and I will get back to you interestingly enough this camera the Carl I lens 2.2 aperture wide angle actually does have a few advanced settings on it I did adjust the saturation to low because by default it seems to be a little little bit on the high end you can adjust the exposure you can adjust uh you know the lighting settings you can adjust pretty much everything so all I can say is that the camera really leaves much to be desired even though it's a Carl's Ice lens the limitations of the Windows operating system right now is that it can only be filming in 10 excuse me 720p so I'm assuming that has to do with just the processing ability the fact that it's a single core um so once you get to Windows 8 and Apollo that's the newest operating system I know that you'll be able to use your 8 megapixel camera to actually film in 1080P but uh I don't think that's going to ever happen on this Lumia I think it's going to need to have more course for that all righty so this is the front facing camera that you can use for video chat hello see how it does with white balance it's all right there's my dang dog you so ooh oh Sayes a lot of interesting things while adjusting to the lighting all righty I found it a little bit annoying that it Silhouettes everything and bright lighting it doesn't do very well out in natural day daylight it seems to make a lot of things at a really green environment look black and you can see it's starting to look a little bit better but for the most part it kind of goes back and forthy you like this sun does this sun feel good huh yeah during these pictures everything is set to the default it has a really hard time focusing I noticed so this actually looked pretty well this isn't too close I did use macro focus and still had some issues this is a little bit darker lighting and this is actually perfect lighting and it looks pretty good actually with a lot of detail a lot of the quality just depends on the environment so the camera it's pass but um I'm not impressed you know I I really like the camera that the Galaxy Note has and the whole galaxy line and even HTC's cameras are quite good uh but I really was not impressed by the much hyped camera on this guy which is really a Pity because I know that Nokia and and the Carl's Ice lens combination are very capable of making a great wonderful camera look at the N9 go back and look at video shot with it go look at it got text message oh that's another thing is that I love the system sounds they're just so endearing and cute so cute let's see if I can turn up the volume all the way I'm one of those people that's really nerdy like that it it really matters matters to me so I'm going to shout out hold on hold on listen it's like a droplet of water it's kind of refreshing see yeah that's the stuff so the system sounds it's it's just really fun to use this phone is the point it's just so easy to slip and move through all the tiles and fre can do it correctly everything just loads really nicely and it's it's great also what's really cool is that um they do have all the apps in one straight line that goes all the way to the bottom just say you don't want to scroll through all those apps you can just click on see there's there's an a there I'm going to make sure to get up close for this as well click on the A and you can see that it has you know an arrangement a b c d e f g blah blah blah blah blah all the ends so just say I know Netflix is obviously under n Go Figure hit the n and it shows up pretty much right away you can click on it and boom there it is so overall for the price point of $99 and it's actually free uh because there was a lot of issues that Nokia had first released their firmware and it was um having trouble with getting people to connect to the network so you weren't able to send text messages I was I was experiencing that you know until a couple days ago when they released the update which I put to the phone um and it was able to connect sometimes and you wouldn't get uh you wouldn't be able to browse the web or you wouldn't get a text message or your text message wouldn't send so they decided to give a $100 off credit so AT&T has been giving people a $99 off credit for the phone so you can essentially Get It Free with just paying tax which is like 30 something dollars like 32 or $33 so if you are looking for a substantial phone that really works well as a phone with a good speaker it has decent uh GPS it has really good Wi-Fi it just reception is fantastic and you are looking for something that is a little bit on the cheaper side that has it's it's a decent passable camera I think this is definitely the phone for you especially if you're into social networking and you want to know what's up in the world of everybody this everything is seamlessly integrated it's extremely easy to use I really like it the texting app is phenomenal the even the speech recognition is great it's very accurate everything is just really nice condensed into a really neat small package with a pretty decent battery life so definitely give this a chance um it's definitely worth an upgrade is it worth a 2-year upgrade I don't know I really think that phone companies especially as fast as everything comes out these days should be giving us an eight-month upgrade although there is early upgrade you can pay the early upgrade fee through AT&T but um yeah it's substantial for now I can't wait to see what windows comes out with and I've rambled enough for you guys I really hope you enjoyed my review please rate and comment and subscribe it really helps me I really would love to get my hands on more electronics for you guys so I can do reviews I will always do the best that I possibly can to make it fair and interesting entertaining and definitely informative so thank you guys have a great day and noia Lumia 900 check it outhello crazy consumer electronic fans my name is Erica and today I'm going to be doing for you a full Real World review on the Nokia Lumia 900 so what is a real world review you ask well you know on YouTube how they have these specification based reviews and they get quite boring and really redundant I'm going to be doing for you something that's a little bit different I'm going to really get into the meat of Wis like to use this phone and all day-to-day practicalities with the operating system systems like how does it really compare to Android versus iPhone cuz this is something that's entirely new and very different so if you stay with me we'll get into it and it will be great fun and I'll try to answer every possible real world question that I can think of of what it's actually like to use this particular device all right the first thing that I like to start with is the form factor of the phone and what it feels like so it is a very interesting design that I haven't actually seen on any other phone it's one solid piece of polycarbonate plastic which is pretty awesome because if you you scratch it or drop it whether you have the blue or the Black Version it's one particular color all the way through so you probably won't see scratches as easily so that's definitely a plus it is Gorilla Glass it's a 4.3 in screen so it's I haven't put any screen protector on it so far and it's held up really well I've had it in my pocket all week pulling it out messing with it doing this and that so it actually looks pretty substantial as far as the glass goes so thinness it's really thin phone it feels very heavy it doesn't have any type of creaking or anything it just I love that it's it's awesome see when I play I had the iPhone 4 before and what I didn't like about the iPhone is what a lot of people do like is it's all glass and it would freak me out all the time like I'm going to drop it and it's going to shatter the back and it's going to look ugly but this is very Hardy plastic I love this this is this is so this is awesome the camera also doesn't protrude and it looks very nice very stylish so it's it's just it's pretty cool and as far as size compared to other phones this is you know the king of Android the Galaxy Note it's you know not too big not too bad so I'll actually do a pocket test it's what I actually love to do is play dress up and put on my dad's pair of jeans is that weird it's probably weird but it's kind of it's kind of funny so I'm going to do it so hold on one second all right so here we have girl jeans girl jeans are always more snug and tight fitting as opposed to do jeans so you can see that it's actually I love the really thin form factor so you can just stick in your pocket goes like so so I don't can't really feel it you know not too bad I can sit down without many problems it does hit here for me but that's because these pants are very snug fitting like all female jeans so it's not too bad at all I love that I mean that's that's awesome as compared to something is huge and Behemoth like like the Galaxy Note see this this is like the bigest phone that you can possibly think of that's huge that's that's kind of I walk around with my Galaxy Note like this anyway so I don't really care but you can see that not so good fitting this fifth grade La all right now for the guyene test as you can see my dad is a rather large chap so let's try to get this situated I am a small girl too so we have to take that into account here's the phone put in the pocket you know you you can't feel that at all I mean that that's awesome you actually have to kind of fish for it nope that's not it there we go yep T see not bad at all so you don't have to worry about size as far as this guy all righty so I really love the operating system the Windows 7 operating system which really isn't given as much credit as it should be unless you've actually fully played with it and used it in day-to-day use it's it's really simple and very awesome very aesthetically pleasing it's very easy to access all the menus that you need although I do wish that there was an easier way to actually see how much battery you know the battery status label because you actually have to go into settings and go under um battery saving and then it tells you what your percentage left of battery is so I really wish that they would have that where you can see it at all times one thing about the operating system is that you can't actually have a cool background it's just going to be the tiles and the black or you can switch it and have it be white and have still color tiles um the only place can actually have that type of customization is on the front screen it's kind of old school like apple in the very beginning where it could only be black um I'm hoping that they get rid of that it's actually annoying when you like to personalize your things so that's something to be wary of if you are really into customization of your phones so how about screen quality then a lot of people say that they don't like it but I actually really like this screen it I think it's quite beautiful it's only 800 by 480 pixels which is why I'm sure people are complaining as they're used to having the 720 displays but it isn't a pentile display thank goodness like the Galaxy Note you do have a line Arrangement the red blue and green you don't have to worry about any seeing any weird sub pixels being shared and anything looking edgy or fuzzy but since it is a little bit low resolution you do see some Jagged areas on text but that really doesn't bother me uh the AMOLED screen itself I think is quite pretty and the color saturation is absolutely beautiful as well so I noticed while watching a movie on this guy you know Netflix versus looking at it on the Galaxy note that the color saturation and representation is a lot better so this does show really vibrant true colors I really love it for that especially because the Super AMOLED or yeah the Super AMOLED plus displays have a lot of issue with showing weird colors especially during black that's another thing that I wanted to say is that my Galaxy Note was quite frustrating that anytime you see something black during video or in pictures it shows kind of grainy clipping where it just doesn't show black correctly it looks purple or green or something else like really messy and ugly this has no problem at all everything it's a clear black display which is the technology this is what uh Nokia calls this so it's so pretty you guys you know if the screen is holding you back from getting this phone I know it's not extremely high resolution but don't listen go on go into the AT&T store or wherever and play with it yourself you'll see that it's actually quite pretty so I really like it that's really all I have got to say so how about social networking integration on this phone I can say that Windows has done a phenomenal Fantastical awesome job making this a definite point to do all your social networking needs that's what it's so cool I I I really like it I'm sorry I'm I'm just getting really excited because because I finally see something that works right and it's just so cool okay so I'll just I'll just tell you why it's cool you know it's probably a good thing to tell you why something's awesome so everything is integrated on this phone there is a tile that's called the people tile so if you go under the people tile it's really awesome because you can see everything from Windows Live to Twitter to Facebook and uh even your most recent messages that you have in your text message thread so that's so cool you can see exactly what you said to that person just say if I want to talk to my mom no about my twin sister I actually do have a twin sister she looks nothing like me um I'll show you a picture yeah well because she's not here but I got to show you I do have a twin so I'm going to go into her tile what's really cool is you can see her profile you can scroll over to the right and you can see what's new you can scroll over you can see her pictures you can see her history and I can access her from right here so if I look under her profile it gives me text message I can write on her wall and I can get to her mobile phone right then and there I can just click on it it calls her and it's I love it that is it's the best integrated feature that I've seen on any phone is as far as social networking goes hands down no questions asked it's Windows phone is the bomb as far as doing that it's just so cool if you are a social networker and want to see what's happening right off the bat for everybody this is definitely the phone for you because it's so seamlessly integrated and I really love it it's going to be hard to go back to Android and have to open up several different apps even though I do have the dynamic live widgets on my home screen what's really neat about this phone is if you are heavily reliant on everything Google like Google Calendar Google contacts um you can definitely set up yourself several accounts you can set up several Gmail accounts and also your contacts will be pushing through Google and as well as your calendar as well so you can look on your live tiles and you can click on the tile app and you can get to your all your stuff you know monthly date to there's also integrated to-do so it's this is just so neat the Calendar app it just all goes through Google and all becomes integrated onto here with the new interface that uh Windows has put before you so so so cool you guys uh everything is right there easy accessible just it's awesome how about the keyboard and the texting app on this thing I can say that the texting and using this phone for texting is phenomenal I've been kind of annoyed with Android because a lot of people know that as you're sitting there typing along la la it puts periods in random places and you'll have like hello period my name period is period so it's like what are you trying to do emphasize something how are you period doing today period it's like do you have a problem no it's just the stupid Android it doesn't correct that putting too many periods but what's cool is that if it does do a wrong word and didn't recognize it right off you can click on the word it'll highlight it and you can uh go through through the assortment of words and fix it essentially just like Android phones and Apple phones you can dictate your texts so say you're bad and you want to answer text while you're driving I'm not condoning texting while driving anybody watching I'm just saying that you can dictate text okay okay so you do to the far right there is a little microphone you can see say your message Hi how are you doing today I am fine and stuff Hi how are you doing today I'm fine and stuff so that's cool it uh it is really good at recognizing the text that you say and speak into it and it spits back at you um it takes a little bit longer and it makes a do sound and it's kind of extraneous stuff that you don't need but it's nice and it works well and it's integrated the one thing I noticed is that you can't say period or comma it'll actually spell out period and comma which is kind of so say your message I am fine period how are you question mark yeah so I am fine period how are you question marks but then it did put a period at the end so it has an idea that you're supposed to have a you know stif of punctuation say your message how are you let's see if it recognizes the question yes it does so maybe it works by intonation rather than saying question mark because it knew automatically to put how are you with a question mark although I'm sure that also is programmed into its database and it Knows by going online that it matches with something that's a common question and it puts the correct punctuation but that's pretty Advanced that's kind of cool now this phone is only limited to 16 gigb of data uh you don't have any type of Micro SD card slot anywhere which is a little bit annoying but you do have a Sky Drive which I think has 25 GB of memory for you to use but anyway what's really cool is that you do have the Microsoft Office app that is integrated into the system um you can do word you can make Word documents you can make Excel documents and you can view PowerPoint but you can't edit PowerPoint because I guess CPU is just it's just not powerful enough on this phone um but what's really cool is you do get one note integration and you can either sync it with the phone or you can have it go to the sky drive I will say that the one thing that this guy is really missing is the lack of app support that Apple and Android have so there's less than 100,000 apps um they hopefully they'll be catching up especially when Windows 8 is released I know that developers are being actually paid to create all kinds of apps and I'm extremely excited for that but right now um if you if you want to play you know draw something with friends you can't do that if you want to play Cut the Rope while there you can check out the uh Internet Explorer version of Cut the Rope but it's extremely slow because there's not much processing power on this phone and very unplayable and one thing I noticed is that the good apps are actually quite expensive under the market they go from like a dollar but a lot of them are up to $4.99 so that's unacceptable especially when I can get it on my Android phone for free um but you know the point is that that some of the apps are quite expensive and I haven't actually been wanting to purchase many apps just for that reason although I have found quite fun free apps like pen gems that is check out pen gems any of you guys who like Windows phone it's really cool awesome game so really I'm just hoping that when that the next Edition Windows 8 will have more apps because it's there is no plan and development for several popular apps which is a little bit of a bummer uh but there are some games on here rest assured you just might have to pay a little bit more for them so it's okay it's just that's one thing that really disappointed me about this phone so how about actually using it as a phone how is the call Quality it's not going to be a very great phone to you if it sounds like garbage I can say that the reception is quite awesome on this phone not only that but the call Quality is great this is one of the best qual call Quality uh examples that I've seen on any phone so the speaker phone is really nice and loud you got a full speaker Grill at the bottom that pretty much extends all the way from side to side uh the it's just it's great I get uh I have really bad signal in my house for both the Verizon and AT&T and I've noticed that I'm still able to get relatively great 4G speeds I I get about 10 megabits per second still with having low reception so that that's awesome that is quite this is if you are looking for a solid solid phone that works as a phone and the second as a PDA phone but still has all those great features this this is really good you guys all right how about the antennas as far as GPS and Wii Wi-Fi does really well it gets a really strong signal on this phone I haven't had any issues with that whatsoever um as far as the GPS if you're I noticed I I had actually used this going to school the other day and it kept losing signal I thought I thought that was the oddest thing it's a relatively crowded you know Highway and it just Lo kept losing GPS signal like every couple seconds and then it was really off and it was really weird and very agitating so it's when you in an area where it can get a satellite fix it fixes really fast and it stays connected and it works really well when you can actually get a satellite fix um I really do like what Nokia has as far as the GPS software I it's called Nokia drive and it's a really good turn BYT based GPS the one thing that really bothers me about about it is that it doesn't have it doesn't actually list off street names for you it will tell you turn left turn right blah blah blah go into the highway but and that's a little bit scary because you won't know which turn off exactly but what I can say is that it warns you constantly turn now turn now turn now you know like about 200 feet turn now turn so you do have uh at least some reassurance that it's it constantly updates you so even though it doesn't tell you in specific the street names it really does work really well um what I really do like about this particular GPS software Nokia Drive is that really what's what's built and integrated into it is that you it tells you how fast you're going so some of you guys know that my car is a piece of crap and um the speedometer broke so when I've been using this I've actually known how fast I'm going and I'm actually pretty accurate so I I'm pretty proud of myself so the GPS it's great when it works I noticed it was having a little a little bit of glitchiness maybe there wasn't a satellite that was in that area but when it does connect it works really well it connects fast and it stays connected so I don't know I'm hoping that's just a fluke you guys can test it out yourself as well but um it is pretty substantial GPS it also has what's really cool is that you can download maps and have them on there if it's if you don't have internet connection and what's also cool is that you can choose several different languages I had a really cool European Butler really heavy British a and I'm like and my friend and his family were like what you're so weird I'm like I know you know but um I love doing this so whatever all righty so how about battery life how does that really function on this phone well Windows phone what's really nice right now is that it does just need a single core because the operating system is so simple and doesn't have a lot of needs for heavy CPU processing so the battery does last pretty long um I get straight through the day just fine without any issue or problem so if it has really good battery life um even being able even connected to 4G I'm sure that the fact that I'm in a really low um signal area does hurt the battery a little bit because it's constantly trying to make sure that it stays connected but the battery is pretty good you know just for example I'll take it off at 10: a.m. in the morning 9:00 a.m. and I'm good till about 11: at night and uh that's with pretty substantial use although the GPS I do have to say is a huge battery drain I had the GPS on for about a half hour and it drains about 1% per minute so you know it was a little bit over 20% by the time i' had got into school I'm like oh crap so GPS is a battery hog oh well you know just just be wary of that or maybe have something to plug into your card you know car jack to charge it car charger you know the one of those things so but otherwise the battery life is pretty substantial and I and I really like it so that's that's all that's also a plus I cracked like a pubescent boy so what if you're a crazy phone fanatic like me and you're not content with just one cell phone because you get bored easily I don't know maybe that that's the only way I can put it um what's not too good is that this takes a micro SIM on the top of the phone it's very simple on top of the phone you just have your headphone jack your charging micro USB and then there is a door to put in your micro SIM that's a problem because if you are coming from a phone that has a regular SIM card just the standard size SIM card you're going to have to go to the AT&T store throw out that old SIM card and you're going to have to get a micro SIM um although you can get something that's called a micro SIM adapter it's a little piece of plastic that looks like a standard size SIM but it has a little cutout that fits um where the little micro SIM fits perfectly in there you just have to be careful because some phones uh will actually get the it the micro SIM adapter will get stuck in the phone and it can break your contact so I'm going to end up trying to get some Capon tape and kind of make it so there's no edginess around it so it doesn't pull on the tabs because my Galaxy Note I'm going to reach all over here and get the Galaxy Note has just a regular slot but the problem is that the pins are so small and stuck in there not in a very genius way so that if you pull it out the edges that are along that micro SIMs adapter will just break the SIM card slot and I won't have a Galaxy Note anymore so I have been indeed uh using this as my primary phone and this as my tablet um so just keep that in mind if you are going if you're planning to go back and forth to different phones although it's probably Irrelevant for most people who are normal unlike me okay so this is where things get bad um look at the face this is the face of sincerity and confusion when I found out that you can't actually ammount a Windows phone via USB you got to actually use connector software or the stupid Zoom software that's a major fail Windows I'm really hoping that Apollo is released soon this is going to be Windows new operating system that's convergent between tablet and phone and desktop as well which is really awesome and I'm really waiting for that because they still use the zoom software and the zoom is a very failed MP3 player you know what's the zoom I don't know uh but they do use zoom software and you have to connect via your computer you know you can use your Windows computer and the zoom software is in there and that's essentially how you transfer videos and that gets quite annoying because it anytime you put a video on here there's there's several formats you have you can use MP4 you can also I think you can use you know the Windows media uh video setting but um every time you put a video on here it wants to convert it like automatically I have Harry Potter videos I always use that as my example that are put in the exact correct format they're supposed to be in um h.264 and I put it through Zoom software and it still tries convert it which takes an infinite amount of time all right waited like an hour and a half and it was only like 6% done so I'm like screw this this is horrible so I'm hoping that there are easier ways to get um movies on here um I'm sure there's some easy way that I'm just not thinking of but the zoom software is going to try to convert it pretty much no matter what and put it on to your device which kind of sucks and makes me want to punch it and throw it on the floor but um but you can also transfer video files via your Apple computer there's a software that's called connector software and it works pretty well so you can use it with your with the connector software and it still takes like an infinite amount of time so that's that's the biggest bummer as far as um this guy because it's such a pretty screen you know at least I think it's a pretty screen and a lot of people will agree with me and you do have some trouble getting movies on here but if you're not a huge movie person you're probably going to be watching Netflix or you watch YouTube then you'll be just fine so if anybody has any comments or any further experience please say something cuz this is this is a huge deal for me cuz I mean look what I I make videos and stuff and movies are important to me so help me figure that out maybe I'm missing something so how is the camera quality on this thing this guy has a much hyped Carl's Ice lens with a 2.2 aperture and it's wide angle so that's a lot to think about when it comes to a camera essentially it means it's supposed to work really well it's supposed to do pretty well in low lighting and it's supposed to get a full wide picture view of everything going on instead of a little tiny box um I can definitely show you some examples I'm going to be doing them right from the camera from the back camera and the front camera and I will get back to you interestingly enough this camera the Carl I lens 2.2 aperture wide angle actually does have a few advanced settings on it I did adjust the saturation to low because by default it seems to be a little little bit on the high end you can adjust the exposure you can adjust uh you know the lighting settings you can adjust pretty much everything so all I can say is that the camera really leaves much to be desired even though it's a Carl's Ice lens the limitations of the Windows operating system right now is that it can only be filming in 10 excuse me 720p so I'm assuming that has to do with just the processing ability the fact that it's a single core um so once you get to Windows 8 and Apollo that's the newest operating system I know that you'll be able to use your 8 megapixel camera to actually film in 1080P but uh I don't think that's going to ever happen on this Lumia I think it's going to need to have more course for that all righty so this is the front facing camera that you can use for video chat hello see how it does with white balance it's all right there's my dang dog you so ooh oh Sayes a lot of interesting things while adjusting to the lighting all righty I found it a little bit annoying that it Silhouettes everything and bright lighting it doesn't do very well out in natural day daylight it seems to make a lot of things at a really green environment look black and you can see it's starting to look a little bit better but for the most part it kind of goes back and forthy you like this sun does this sun feel good huh yeah during these pictures everything is set to the default it has a really hard time focusing I noticed so this actually looked pretty well this isn't too close I did use macro focus and still had some issues this is a little bit darker lighting and this is actually perfect lighting and it looks pretty good actually with a lot of detail a lot of the quality just depends on the environment so the camera it's pass but um I'm not impressed you know I I really like the camera that the Galaxy Note has and the whole galaxy line and even HTC's cameras are quite good uh but I really was not impressed by the much hyped camera on this guy which is really a Pity because I know that Nokia and and the Carl's Ice lens combination are very capable of making a great wonderful camera look at the N9 go back and look at video shot with it go look at it got text message oh that's another thing is that I love the system sounds they're just so endearing and cute so cute let's see if I can turn up the volume all the way I'm one of those people that's really nerdy like that it it really matters matters to me so I'm going to shout out hold on hold on listen it's like a droplet of water it's kind of refreshing see yeah that's the stuff so the system sounds it's it's just really fun to use this phone is the point it's just so easy to slip and move through all the tiles and fre can do it correctly everything just loads really nicely and it's it's great also what's really cool is that um they do have all the apps in one straight line that goes all the way to the bottom just say you don't want to scroll through all those apps you can just click on see there's there's an a there I'm going to make sure to get up close for this as well click on the A and you can see that it has you know an arrangement a b c d e f g blah blah blah blah blah all the ends so just say I know Netflix is obviously under n Go Figure hit the n and it shows up pretty much right away you can click on it and boom there it is so overall for the price point of $99 and it's actually free uh because there was a lot of issues that Nokia had first released their firmware and it was um having trouble with getting people to connect to the network so you weren't able to send text messages I was I was experiencing that you know until a couple days ago when they released the update which I put to the phone um and it was able to connect sometimes and you wouldn't get uh you wouldn't be able to browse the web or you wouldn't get a text message or your text message wouldn't send so they decided to give a $100 off credit so AT&T has been giving people a $99 off credit for the phone so you can essentially Get It Free with just paying tax which is like 30 something dollars like 32 or $33 so if you are looking for a substantial phone that really works well as a phone with a good speaker it has decent uh GPS it has really good Wi-Fi it just reception is fantastic and you are looking for something that is a little bit on the cheaper side that has it's it's a decent passable camera I think this is definitely the phone for you especially if you're into social networking and you want to know what's up in the world of everybody this everything is seamlessly integrated it's extremely easy to use I really like it the texting app is phenomenal the even the speech recognition is great it's very accurate everything is just really nice condensed into a really neat small package with a pretty decent battery life so definitely give this a chance um it's definitely worth an upgrade is it worth a 2-year upgrade I don't know I really think that phone companies especially as fast as everything comes out these days should be giving us an eight-month upgrade although there is early upgrade you can pay the early upgrade fee through AT&T but um yeah it's substantial for now I can't wait to see what windows comes out with and I've rambled enough for you guys I really hope you enjoyed my review please rate and comment and subscribe it really helps me I really would love to get my hands on more electronics for you guys so I can do reviews I will always do the best that I possibly can to make it fair and interesting entertaining and definitely informative so thank you guys have a great day and noia Lumia 900 check it out\n"
