**A Year in Review: A Look Back at My 2016 Adventure**
As I sit here reflecting on the past year, I'm filled with a mix of emotions - excitement, gratitude, and a hint of exhaustion. It's been an incredible journey, one that has taken me to some of the most breathtaking destinations around the world, behind the wheels of some of the most iconic cars on the planet.
I started this year off right, getting into my new ride, a sleek Aston Martin Vantage. The car is a beast, with its 5.0-liter V8 engine producing an astonishing 470 horsepower. I've spent countless hours behind the wheel, enjoying every moment of it. As I sat in the driver's seat for the first time, I felt a rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins. It was love at first sight - this car is seriously brilliant.
**A Hot Lap in a McLaren F1**
One of the highlights of my year was getting to experience one of the most iconic cars on the planet - the McLaren F1. I had the opportunity to join an owner's club tour in Spain, where I got to drive not one, but two McLarens. The first car was a 675 LT Spider, which I'd previously driven on another occasion. But this time, I was getting behind the wheel of my friend's McLaren F1. As we took to the circuit, I couldn't believe my eyes - this is the ultimate driving machine. We went from zero to sixty in just 3 seconds flat, leaving all other cars in our dust.
But what really made the experience special was when one of the owner's kindly allowed me to take the wheel for a passenger ride around the circuit. It was exhilarating, to say the least. Even though I wasn't driving my own car, I felt like I was on top of the world. The McLaren F1 is truly an incredible machine, and I feel so lucky to have experienced it.
**Fuel Faction in Montenegro**
Another highlight of my year was a road trip with some friends to the beautiful Bay of Kotor in Montenegro. We spent hours driving through the stunning scenery, taking in the breathtaking views of the bay below. The car we were driving? A Porsche 911 GT3 RS - an absolute beast on the roads. But what made the trip truly special was when we decided to park at the top of a nearby hill and take in the view.
As I looked out over the bay, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. The landscape stretched out before me like a painting come to life. It was one of those moments that you never forget - the perfect combination of stunning scenery and good company made for an unforgettable experience.
**Cars, Cars, and More Cars**
One of the best things about my job is getting to drive some amazing cars. This year has been no exception. I've had the pleasure of getting behind the wheel of a Ferrari 488 GTB, a Lamborghini Huracan Performante, and even a limited-edition McLaren 570S. Each car has its own unique personality, and I love the thrill of discovering what each one is capable of.
I also have to mention my trusty old Cayman GT4, which has been with me through thick and thin. It's not the prettiest car on the road, but it's reliable, fun to drive, and always up for an adventure.
**New Year, New Opportunities**
As I look ahead to 2017, I'm filled with excitement and anticipation. There are already some big plans in the works - new roads, new cars, and new adventures waiting just around the corner. I couldn't do this without all of your support - watching these videos and leaving comments has made my job truly special.
So here's to 2017 - let's make it one for the books!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys I'm shme and this video is really going to wrap up what has been a phenomenal year for me 2016 has just been incredible if you're watching after the clocks have already struck to midnight then a Happy New Year to you I'm sure 2017 has an awful lot in store but this year for me the opportunities the adventures the events the road trips the test drives they have all been incredible it's been the year of my life now I might have overused certain terms absolutely Bonkers Mega epic just to name a few of them and I apologize for that but I think they really do sum up some of the stuff that I've been able to access with my video cameras and create videos for you guys right here on the sh150 YouTube channel but also across my social media pages but it is all thanks to you guys for making this possible if you weren't here watching and following and liking and commenting and getting involved in everything then I probably wouldn't be able to share at all so I really really appreciate all of your support this year as much as ever so in this video I want to sort of do a recap of the year you've already seen from the title something I want to touch on the number of cars I've driven number of hotels I've been to this kind of stuff but also pick out some of my favorite videos sometimes the ones that have huge numbers of views of course that means you guys like them a lot but some others that haven't necessarily done so well on YouTube but as experiences were really really really special so let's get started with the title 100 cars in one year what's that about well you might have seen I did a post recently that the 100th car that I drove in 2016 was the Mercedes AMG GTR but I have actually now driven 106 so this year think about this in 365 days I've driven 106 different cars nearly all of which have been on video to create these YouTube videos that is a pretty crazy number you got to think every every time I drive a car I've got to learn the specs the details the performance stats bits about it and then come up with I guess some interesting words or tried and do my best to let you know my sort of First Impressions um when I'm at the wheel but that varies from things I mean this year what have I driven we had the Enzo LaFerrari F50 F40 a couple of p1s 918 Carrera GT um I'm sure I've driven in some kig eggs and pagis and all sorts of different things basically the list just goes on and on and it's for me it's a little bit crazy I'm looking back at it and I've written out a full list as the year's gone by and I'm like are you serious but it's it's been that incredible um along the way I don't share too much of my traveling and I did a little video about this in was it September when I was in Sardinia uh with the Hamilton tour a little bit from my hotel there and it seems only appropriate that it's new year and I'm in a hotel room again um about some of the travel cuz I don't show it um I don't share with you you guys but I've also as well as driving 106 cars I have checked into 105 different hotels this year um I think I slept probably less than 100 nights in my own bed at home out of the 365 nights of the year that's 105 not like nights in hotels that's different hotels I've been to this year I've been on 49 flights which I know is not that many compared to sort of business Travelers frequently um on the same road but sorry on the same route backwards and forwards once a week I've also taken 17 Euro tunnels and fairies I 14 Euro tunnels and three fairies and I've probably driven about 100,000 kilometers as well so I do an awful lot of traveling doesn't necessarily make it into these videos but I love it because I love everything at the other end I'll get up at whatever time of day stay up all night if I have to for the opportunities and videos I'm able to shoot so basically I was trying to think of my favorite sort of top five let's say highlights of the year and this is really hard because there's some amazing stuff I haven't included in this top five some opportunities some really special things some big thanks that have to go out to owners who have let me drive their cars I mean just to throw out a couple of things my recent trip to Dubai was just Dubai Abu Dhabi was incredible and everybody out there was amazing back at the beginning of the year I also had a fantastic run to ammana and again in Dubai had an amazing amazing amazing trip to La um Benta launch event I actually went skiing up there as well did a a slightly off- pieced I guess ski video away from Cars uh um what else have we done press drives driving the AMG GTR for the first time McLaren and tenie these are all things that aren't even in the top five I mean just scrolling back through my own YouTube channel is making me go sort of like this was all this year are you real I think I've uploaded I don't have the exact number off the top of my head but over 200 videos this year and up till just before now I think I've done videos basically every day for 6 weeks which has completely um destroyed me to be very honest it's hard work a lot more work than I think people realize I've had many many many short short nights to create video content but that's not a complaint because it's so much fun and I get I guess a lot of enjoyment out of knowing you guys are enjoying watching these videos but enough I guess waffling it's been a busy year 100 cars but let's hit these sort of top five I guess memories so to speak because they're things that stand out to me um for whatever reason um and we'll do this in no particular order so to kickoff is going to be right back at the very begin of the year I headed to Sweden and that was for the kig zeg regira and a particularly amazing opportunity to go around the factory with Christian von kernig himself each time I go there each time I shoot a video with Christian he is a lovely lovely guy and his sort of passion is infectuous his understanding and awareness of everything his company's doing his involvement in the whole process so every time I'm with him and we shoot these kind of videos I think you guys really quite enjoy them um I certainly love being there with him but because he is a man who is an absolute genius he knows everything um so we had to look around the factory but it was more than that because it was also the very first time arera had even been out with a sort of journalist influencer type person even involved so I got the opportunity to shoot a video with Christian of the KAG regira the world's first video of that car in sort of motion and it has 1.3 million views but let's take a look at probably one of the biggest hyper cars of this year let's do a demonstration of the new hydraulically operated front rear and doors of the car then this is what you could see from the inside with using the touch panel to open it up that is absolutely awesome so the front storage compartment where you can place the roof as with the previous carxs it fits perfectly in there as we come around to the rear you can catch a glimpse of the engine in there 5 L to a turbo V8 it is a lot nicer and warmer in here exactly it's a cold day there SES that is a beautiful system roing closing the doors there it's in a typical sort of moment when you're driving away like this how does it sort of distribute between electric and uh this is mostly electric so you can hear the Rev go up on the combustion engine and that is to uh uh well we we use it to give electricity through the crank mounted motor to the rear axle Motors but then we also have a hydraulic coupling which which pretty much help out from from the GetGo but we don't lock it up until we get to around 30 mph so the combusted end is actually driving mechanically directly through to but through a like a hydraulic coupling which is slipping and it's designed to do that so it doesn't heat up very trick and if I push a little bit harder it it feels like oh a normal normal car I me the year but you felt the torque s of immediately even on a sort of tiny touch like that right not a bad way to get this year started that really was such an amazing highlight and the snow driving a cing z regira out in the snow just made it even better but let's quickly move on to number two and this is a more recent thing where I joined my friend Greg in Italy for a very very Ferrari based day now this didn't get that many views 12,000 views but for me personally in one day I drove back to back in the Ferrari 288 GTO the F40 the F50 and the Enzo four of the legendary iconic proper Ferrari supercars or hyper cars as we might refer to them now and that was sort of an amazing pinch myself moment did that day really happened so I can't thank Greg enough for that the Highlight for me at the end was the F50 but everything about it being there with those cars I I don't have any words the 288 274 of them from the80s we've got the F40 just over 1100 of these made in the later 80s the F50 349 with the V12 both of those have the V8s and then the Enzo named after Enzo Ferrari himself so two of the cars in Roso corser two of them in Galo Moder this is going to be incredible wow the noise Formula 1 Drive B12 right there and you can hear all of it I mean immediately I'm feeling this is my favorite to drive this is everything this is just surreal the sound the experience the engagement the enjoyment it is off the charts what is this I'm just enjoying flipping up and down and going through gears just because it's amazing when you let the revs rise it just screams at you what it's Mega if you ever wanted to see what I look like when I'm happy it's this right now driving the F50 which I just feel like to me this was my total dream this car and it's lived up to expectations in every possible way this is utterly amazing without a shadow of a doubt that was was one of the best days of my life but what I want to move on to now is something that has been perhaps overplayed a little bit recently but it's extraordinary in terms of what we've been able to do and that is with Aston Martin in terms of the build of my vantage gta8 the way they have opened up the doors to allow me to film The Road to gta8 story for you guys the opportunities for me to be there at the factory being in the paint shop when the car was being sprayed in cobalt blue being there when the engine went into the car seeing all the different sort of bits and trim being attached to it the seats being made then the Highlight that I'm going to get to in a second is starting it up I got to put the key in to start it for the very first time that engine had Rod into life in the car obviously it had been bent around and tested before but being fired up with the exhaust system all set up ready for the car to drive off the end of the line I don't know if that's ever been done before but for me that was the truly sort of icing on the cake of what has been an amazing series of videos I think and i' rather gathered that from the feedback I've seen in the comments that you guys have enjoyed them too so I have to extend a huge huge thanks to Aston Martin for this opportunity because I've got the key and I'm going to have the honors of starting the car for the very first time in its life so firstly that means I've got the opportunity to sit in the car for the first time um I'm a little bit nervous actually this is really strange but let's jump in sat in my driver's seat check that out 0. n miles on the dashboard okay this feels good I could get used to this the seat is brilliant in here so we're in the car we're in neutral the handbreak is on I'm take the key back out of my pocket this is the sort of plastic valet key almost um and it's going to be time to start it up now like we've been told it might take a couple of goes um I've been sort of instructed on the process it's the emotional control unit so it goes right in here if you have a sort of paddle shift Aston like my former one you have the park drive neutral and reverse buttons not in that order but along there this has the new style Dash to my previous car but the uh satin carbon is awesome so let's break and clutch let's go for it first go we're live that was easy first first pop I wasn't expecting it at all and now we've got the gt8 raw rumbling away behind this is if a smile could speak a thousand words this is it utterly amazing let's just jump out look at hear this from the outside just really really quickly for the penultimate item on the list another one that didn't get too many views 100,000 views in fact I was in Spain for the McLaren F1 Owners Club tour but any other McLaren so F1 owners driving their other McLaren which is when I had the 675 LT spider there and we went to Circuit to Navara in the north of Spain and one owner had bought his F1 the McLaren F1 the three seat layout is the ultimate iconic hyper car to me it is so so special and I think it's the one car that sits on my wish list in terms of cars I would like to drive after recently ticking off the Ferraris and the Carrera GT um so that maybe one day I'll be fortunate enough to do so but while we were there at the circuit the owner very kindly allowed me to jump in and go for a passenger ride around the circuit yes it wasn't Mac 10 but it was a McLaren F1 on a race circuit because I'm about to be jumping on board for a hot lap in the McLaren F1 on a race circuit it is the ultimate car it's my dream to maybe one day get an opportunity to drive one but even experiencing it now from the passenger seat is going to be epic the mega and I okay too excited words aren't even coming out right now let's get in you not a bad day at all but what I want to move on to for the fifth and final item on this list is going to summarize I guess a lot of the different road trips and Adventures I've been on so the places I've visited my cars that I've driven press cars that I've driven and all of the different places but they all culminated into one thing on fuel faction Ena with trading 212 when we were in Montenegro at the Bay of Couture the top looking out over the bay and I was there with my McLaren the Cayman GT4 the FF and my manager M2 and we had the cars up at the top with this most spectacular of views being thousands of miles away from home there with all my team and the guys who helped make these videos possible and some friends as well and it was just it was a proper moment when I was like wow this is this is really cool the stuff that I'm able to do in creating these videos for YouTube and the opportunities that come up for me can never be summarized better than that day when we were driving fuel faction into Montenegro we've got a pretty cool view behind us um all climbing up the rocks to take some photos up here my word this place is like out of this world pretty crazy we're on the move it was beautiful up there but what an overall experience all of this year has been I am left a little bit speechless just reflecting on it now but it's been amazing and if 2017 is even a fraction as good as 2016 was then we're going to be sharing a lot of cool stuff as this year goes ahead and I can tell you there are already some pretty fun things started and lined up in the works for January February March just bring it on 2017 is all ahead of us so I wish you all a very very happy New Year I hope you had enjoyable 2016's and I hope you're going to have a brilliant 2017 ahead I couldn't do this without all of your support and you guys watching these videos so I really really really do appreciate it anyway let me know down in the comments whereabouts you are in the world whether it's already 2017 or not and I really appreciate it as always so thank you very much for watching guys that's it for now I'll catch up with you again very soon cheers thathi guys I'm shme and this video is really going to wrap up what has been a can never be summarized better than that day when we were driving fuel faction into Montenegro we've got a pretty cool view behind us um all climbing up the rocks to take some photos up here my word this place is like out of this world pretty crazy we're on the move it was beautiful up there but what an overall experience all of this year has been I am left a little bit speechless just reflecting on it now but it's been amazing and if 2017 is even a fraction as good as 2016 was then we're going to be sharing a lot of cool stuff as this year goes ahead and I can tell you there are already some pretty fun things started and lined up in the works for January February March just bring it on 2017 is all ahead of us so I wish you all a very very happy New Year I hope you had enjoyable 2016's and I hope you're going to have a brilliant 2017 ahead I couldn't do this without all of your support and you guys watching these videos so I really really really do appreciate it anyway let me know down in the comments whereabouts you are in the world whether it's already 2017 or not and I really appreciate it as always so thank you very much for watching guys that's it for now I'll catch up with you again very soon cheers that\n"
