iPhone 6 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 - Speed Test

What's Up YouTube Sapphira on Supersoft TV: A Speed Test Between the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy s5

In this video, we're going to be doing a speed test between the iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy s5. Yesterday, I did a benchmark test for Key Quench 3 on both devices, which showed that they were very similar in terms of their multi-core scores.

To start off with, we'll do a boot test on both devices. We'll power them both up at the same time and speed up the process to avoid sitting through the boot animations. As you can see, the Samsung Galaxy s5 finishes first, roughly about 18 seconds ahead of the iPhone 6, which comes in slightly later, around 23 seconds.

Next, we'll do a quick browser test using the default browsers on both devices to keep things fair. We'll load up the Verge, a heavy website, and start both devices at the same time. You can see that the content starts loading quickly on the iPhone 6, and it finishes loading first, just ahead of the Samsung Galaxy s5.

Now, let's jump into an article and click on both devices to see which one loads up first. As you can see, the Samsung Galaxy s5 finishes loading the article up first, while the iPhone 6 takes a little longer, coming in around the same time.

We'll also try out a popular app, Instagram, and open it up on both devices at the same time. You can see that it loads slightly quicker on the Samsung Galaxy s5, but once we're inside the app, going from images and things is absolutely neck-and-neck between the two devices.

Next, let's try out a game, Temple Run 2, which is available on both devices. We'll open them up at the same time and start loading. You can see that it finishes loading quite quickly on the iPhone 6, while it still takes some time to load on the Samsung Galaxy s5, with us already reaching the menu screen.

Finally, let's try out YouTube, which is an app I use a lot. We'll open it up on both devices at the same time and see how they load up. You can see that they pretty much load up quickly and neck-and-neck.

What we'll do now is load up a recent video from my channel on both devices and click on them to see which one loads up first. As you can see, the iPhone 6 starts playing the video slightly quicker than the Samsung Galaxy s5, although it's very close.

Overall, I think that these two devices are pretty similar when it comes to speed. Some of the iPhone 6 is faster, while some of the Samsung Galaxy s5 is a little bit quicker. However, I don't think you'll have any problems with either device when it comes to speed.
