All the Health & Fitness Features in iOS 13 & watchOS 6

New Features and Updates in Health, Fitness, and Wellness Apps with iOS 13 and Watch OS 6

In this latest update, Apple has introduced several new features and improvements to its Health, Fitness, and Wellness apps, including the iPhone and Apple Watch. One of the most notable additions is a new timer for tooth brushing, which will literally monitor how long you brush your teeth. This can sync with third-party apps such as App and Brush, allowing users to track their oral hygiene habits.

The new timer feature will also provide personalized recommendations for tooth brushing time, based on the user's data and activity level. Additionally, this feature is designed to be more accurate than previous methods, taking into account various factors that can affect brushing time, such as the type of toothpaste used or the number of teeth being cleaned.

Another new feature in the Health app is a trend analysis section, which shows users their progress over time. This allows them to see how they're doing and identify areas for improvement. The trend analysis section includes various metrics, such as exercise, stand distance, walking pace, stand minutes, cardio fitness, and running pace. These metrics are broken down into different categories, making it easier for users to track their progress.

The trend analysis section also includes a new tab called "Keep Going," which provides additional motivation and support for users who have been struggling with certain habits or goals. This feature is particularly useful for those who have been wearing their Apple Watch for an extended period of time and are looking for ways to stay on track.

In terms of specific metrics, the trend analysis section now includes awards based on user progress. For example, if a user has met their daily step goal, they'll be rewarded with a badge or achievement. These awards provide a sense of accomplishment and motivation, encouraging users to continue working towards their health and wellness goals.

One of the most significant updates in the Health app is the addition of new workouts that can be tracked on the Apple Watch. Previously, users had to choose from a limited selection of pre-set workouts, but now they have access to an extensive library of exercises and activities. This makes it easier for users to track their workouts and stay active, as well as providing more options for those who want to try new things.

The new workout feature includes the ability to add custom workouts that are not listed in the default selection. Users can tap on the "Add Workout" button at the bottom of the screen and choose from the entire list of available exercises. This makes it easy for users to create their own customized workout routines and track their progress over time.

The activities app has also been updated with a new section that allows users to view previously completed workouts. This feature is particularly useful for those who want to review their past performances or identify areas for improvement. The activities app now includes a "Workouts" tab at the bottom of the screen, which shows all the workouts completed by the user.

In addition to these updates, Apple has also introduced new features and improvements to its Noise app and Cycle app. The Noise app provides real-time audio feedback on environmental noise levels, allowing users to gauge the decibel level in their surroundings. This feature is particularly useful for those who are sensitive to loud noises or want to be more aware of their environment.

The Cycle app has also been updated with new features that allow users to track their menstrual cycle and receive personalized insights and recommendations. The app now includes a symptom-tracking feature, which allows users to log any symptoms they experience during their period. This information can then be used to provide personalized advice and guidance on managing menstrual-related health issues.

Finally, Apple has also partnered with several gym kit manufacturers to integrate their equipment with the Apple Watch. This allows users to track their workouts more accurately and gain a deeper understanding of their physical activity. By syncing their Apple Watch with the actual equipment they're using during exercise, users can get real-time feedback on their performance and make adjustments as needed.

Overall, these updates and new features demonstrate Apple's commitment to improving its Health, Fitness, and Wellness apps. With iOS 13 and Watch OS 6, users now have access to more accurate tracking, personalized recommendations, and additional motivation tools to help them achieve their health and wellness goals.
