Emmy Eats Walkers 'Bring Me Back' Crisps (Chips)

A Tasty Tour of British Chips: A Review of Marmite and More

As I cracked open the package of chips, I was greeted by the unmistakable aroma of soy sauce, a scent that immediately transported me to the streets of Britain. The chip itself was thin and crispy, with a light brown dusting of Marmite powder that added a rich, savory flavor to each bite. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the taste, which was both salty and slightly bitter, with a hint of coffeelike undertones. The sourness in the flavor was a pleasant surprise, adding depth to an otherwise familiar chip experience.

Next up was the Lam and mint flavor, a popular dish found in the UK that rarely makes its way across the Atlantic. I was curious to see how this one would compare to its American counterparts. The aroma was meaty, with hints of beef stock and gamey undertones. However, upon taking a bite, I was surprised to find that the mint flavor was relatively subtle, adding a touch of freshness without overpowering the other notes. While not my cup of tea, I appreciated the understated charm of this chip.

Barbecue is another flavor commonly found in American chips, but it's surprising to see that Marmite and Co UK didn't offer one. Instead, they chose to go with a smoky, sweet, and tangy BBQ flavor that was eerily similar to those found in the States. The chip itself looked exactly like its American counterparts, with an orange hue and a satisfying crunch. Upon taking a bite, I was transported to the summertime BBQs of America, where the flavors were both familiar and comforting.

The next chip to try was toasted cheese, which piqued my interest as a dish that might not be well-known outside of the UK. I was pleased to find that it tasted more like a naturally seasoned potato chip than an artificial cheese flavor. The Sunny yellowish color added to its appeal, and while it may not have been as bold as some other flavors, it had a certain charm to it.

Last but certainly not least, we had the beef and onion flavor, which sounded like a hearty stew that might be served alongside a side of chips. I was surprised by how much this chip tasted like instant cup noodles, with a rich, roasted beef flavor that added depth without overpowering the other notes. The onion flavor was relatively subtle, adding a touch of savory undertones to an otherwise satisfying taste experience.

In conclusion, my tour of British chips was a resounding success. While some flavors may have been more familiar than others, each one had its own unique charm and character that set it apart from its American counterparts. If I had to choose which chip best represented the UK, I would have to go with Marmite – iconic, yes, but also a bit of an acquired taste for those not familiar with its unique flavor profile.

UK lay potato chips is known as Walkers this time Walkers is doing something a little bit different rather than voting on a new new weird flavor they're having the public vote on old flavors and having them bring them back let's get started and this is called the cheese and chai flavor sounds pretty good smells good smells just like sour cream and onion here in the states chip is lovely nice and thin and speckled with a little bit of green eat theum m m delicious and it tastes just like a sour cream and onion too little bit daired and tons of oniony flavor without being overpowering strong it reminds me a lot of the lipin instant cup of soup mixes that have like the French onion soup flavor or onion dip it tastes just like onion dip delicious and it's Marmite so for those of you that don't know what Marmite is marmite is a yeast extract it's made from the kind of tailings of the Brewing process of making beer has a very strong salty yeasty flavor delicious I love it there are Marmite is actually from New Zealand it's made by the sanatorium company love them anyways now I've created a very heated battle I'm sure but you know we all have our own tastes it's all taste is objective right all right back to this smells great smells like soy sauce and here's the chip and the chip is the same kind of thin potato chip but it's heavily dusted with a light brown Marmite powder that's great tons of Marmite flavor a little bit tingy slightly bittered kind of coffeed salty soy Saucy great I'm actually surprised by that because it actually has a little bit of sourness to it which I find kind of surpris surprising let's try this one next Lam and mint and this is a very popular dish found in the UK you don't find it much here in the States but yeah let's give that a taste smells very meaty same thin chip and it's slightly orange in color right let's give it a go M the flavor is actually subtler than I had expected I was expecting something really meaty and gamey it does taste meaty kind of like beef stock or something like that but I really don't taste too much of the mint yeah I can't really taste the mint but it's not unpleasant tasting chip at all not exactly my favorite but not too bad next we have barbecue and barbecue is a hugely popular flavor here in the US you can find it everywhere all chip makers here in the US make some form of barbecue flavor so I'm kind of surprised to see that this is one that's not commonly found in the UK so let's see how it compares to us barbecue smells just like and by the looks of it looks like it too same thin potato chip but it has an orange Hue to it Smoky sweet and tangy all right let's give it a taste M mhm and it's nearly identical to the chips that we have here in the states in terms of flavor and texture slightly sweet a little bit Tangy lots of smoke Essence in there and just a little bit of chili flavor as well without being spicy it's great Americans will know exactly what this tastes like cuz it tastes exactly like barbecue chips that we have here in states exactly next we have this and this is called toasted cheese UK friends is this some sort of dish do you have like a piece of bread with cheese on top like a broiled cheesy toast or something do tell do tell let me know in the comments below what exactly is toasted cheese sounds good H smells kind of daired a little bit black peppered all right so these chips have a nice kind of Sunny yellowish color and that's nice it tastes like a nicely salted potato chip with a addition of some cheese powder but it doesn't taste like artificial processed American cheese flavor like mac and cheese it's nice and my last one's another meaty flavored one beef and onion is that another UK staple or dish sounds like a stew or something see that smells a little bit like soup and has a light speckling of powder H interesting wow that's crazy that tastes a lot like beef stew wow actually I take that back more like instant cup of noodles beef flavor it tastes exactly like that has a kind of roasted dried slightly fried flavor to it and it's tastes like beef bullon the onion flavor actually isn't very strong it's more of a roasted beef beef jerky flavor not really Smokey but roasted and nutty interesting this one's a little bit tough to vote on I think in terms of just flavors I like the cheese and chai flavor best it certainly wasn't most surprising but it just tasted really oniony and yummy but in terms of an American thinking what chip should represent the UK I would definitely vote for Marmite I think this is iconic but in terms of being sympathetic to my British friends I would have to choose barbecue because how can you be a crisp chip lover if you don't have barbecue I mean what a sad existence let me
