Galaxy Note 10 Plus Unboxing

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus: A Comprehensive Review

I am actually really excited that I got this aura glow color because, in the right light, it sort of reflects the rainbow and even if you put a case on it, you'll always know that you've got this underneath, and that is with plastic on top. Samsung has given us a nice pull tab this year to make it really easy to take this plastic off back on the front. There is a piece of plastic that you could pull off; it's not quite the case of the Galaxy Fold or pulling that off to strace the screen. This is a baked-in plastic screen protector that Samsung says you can keep on if you pull it off, nothing bad's gonna happen; you can apply your own screen protector but it is meant to be there now.

The Galaxy Note 10 Plus features dynamic AMOLED, which is pretty much an edge-to-edge screen. It takes up a lot of space on the phone face, but the device itself is pretty easy for me to hold and I have smaller-sized hands. One design change is the 10-megapixel front-facing camera; it's moved to the center, and there's only one, with the sides still curved. This feels really nice in the hand. You'll notice that there's no traditional power lock button on the right side of the phone; instead, that's moved over to the left. This is where the big speed button used to be; there's no big speed button anymore, but you can still use Vibration speed so you'll just click once to unlock the phone, click twice to launch the camera or any other app you want, and press and hold to use Vibration speed.

At the bottom, we have of course, the S Pen stylus that pops out; we also have the speaker grill, of course, a microphone, and the USB-C port. There is no 3.5 millimeter headphone jack on Samsung, which was one of the last outliers to have this headphone jack, and it is gone at the top. We also have a SIM card tray and there's also a micro SD card slot in here; it doesn't exist on the smaller Galaxy Note 10.

The back of the phone has these three beautiful cameras; we've got an AR camera on the Note 10 Plus only, which are pretty much the same that you'll find on the Galaxy S 10 Plus and the S 10 5G. We've got a dual-aperture 12-megapixel lens, a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and of course, this 3D AR camera that you can use for things like portrait video and an are doodle, which is where you can draw on the screen over an inanimate object.

Pulling out that S Pen, it's really beautiful blue; Samsung says that it's made this S Pen Stylus a little more round this year. Last year with the Note 9, Samsung gave the s-pen some Bluetooth Low Energy capability. There's also battery in here that charges when you stick it back in the phone; you can use this button as a remote control to take pictures - you know pause and play a video or a song even to move along a presentation. But now with this year's pen, there's also gesture control built-in so you can flick through a presentation, flick through your camera modes, even zoom in, zoom out, or move between the front-facing and rear-facing cameras.

Now we're actually going to turn the screen on and the power/lock button of course is on the left. Okay, so now the phone is on, and you can really see that front-facing camera, and where it sits; there are wallpapers out even now that will disguise that space and here's what it looks like through the app tray and this is what the notifications bar looks like. You've got a couple new options here including Link to Windows which is part of a new partnership between Microsoft and Samsung and you of course have wireless power share, which lets you charge up another device using the battery on this one.

Opening up the native camera app is really snappy; you've got a couple new modes here including night mode, which is baked-in. This is a standalone feature that will take a little bit longer to process night shots but promises to make them clearer and more detailed; we see both like this existing on the Pixel 4 and the Huawei P30 Pro so really happy to see it in here. We also have live focus, which is like the blur portrait mode, and we even have live focus video, that's enabled by this AR camera on the back. This is basically the video version of doing a blurred out portrait mode.

In conclusion, I've got a lot more testing to do so make sure you come back for the full review.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enI just got my hands on my review unit of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 just launched it goes on sale August 23rd for $1,100 but I've got it now so let's unbox it and see what's inside this is the aura white color of the note 10 plus that's the one I wanted although or a blue looks really great too and there's this shiny S Pen on the top of the box not a lot of other design but that's alright this is the 256 gigabyte version there's also 512 gigabyte version and let's see just a little bit of writing on the side but otherwise fairly plain Samsung's keeping it simple this year as it has in years past alright oh inside the top of the lid we've got okay we've got what's probably the pamphlet and also this in card ejector tool and then put this aside for right now and here's what we want to see the phone there's this nice plastic tab that makes it easy to pull out I don't have to turn it over which is great we'll put that aside for a second and see what else we have open this up and see in here we've got yeah just a Quick Start Guide for the phone and like I said this is sim card ejector tool which is going to be handy later put it to the side and now here we have just a little divider here we've got our charging brick for superfast wired charging a little bit of a different shape this here it's a little bit rounder and you must be see input on the end and here we have a lot of different goodies alright this is our typical USB a2 USBC connector and I don't think there's anything left in this little box but let's find out oh there is okay so Samsung has put in a tool for changing the S Pen tip you even have two tips in here a white one and a black one so if there's something wrong with your tip you can just squeeze it out and insert a new one here we have our cable interesting this isn't a braided cable this year I've come to expect those this is a USB c2 USBC cable this is new in the box and finally we have our headphones these are AKG headphones as in past years and we do get the braided cable here what's interesting about this is that it's got a USBC connector port instead of a 3.5 millimeter jack and that is because Samsung has removed the jack and replaced it with only USB see we had that before for charging but now if you want to listen to music through wired headphone this is what you use lastly you've got your ear tips here there's one set that's a little bit smaller and one that's a little bit larger than what comes with the headphones now these are pretty tightly in here so I just want to pop these out I think the easiest way to do that is just going to be to unfurl the whole thing there we go kind of slip this out and slip this out here there very secure put that off to the side we can get a closer look so that is everything that comes in the box and now we can address our attention back to the phone I'm actually really excited that I got this aura glow color because in the right light it
