**Introduction to the C Expansion Hard Drive**
The C expansion hard drive is a compact and fast storage device that connects over USB 3, making it an excellent option for users who need extra storage space without taking up too much room. In this article, we will be exploring the features and performance of this drive.
**Physical Characteristics of the Drive**
The drive itself has a sturdy body made of hard plastic, with a single LED light that glows when the drive is active or being accessed. However, it automatically goes to sleep after a certain period of inactivity, making it energy-efficient. The drive is also connected to the Mac Mini via a USB 3 cable supplied by the manufacturer.
**Benchmarking and Performance**
To assess the performance of the C expansion hard drive, we conducted a series of benchmarks using popular software. The drive was found to be incredibly fast, with read speeds reaching up to 150 megabytes per second. This is an impressive performance, especially considering the drive's compact size.
**Real-World Testing**
We also put the drive through real-world testing by moving large files between the drive and a pen drive connected via USB 3. The results were astounding, with the drive transferring a 1.5 GB file in just 10 seconds. This demonstrates the drive's exceptional read speeds and its ability to handle heavy data transfer tasks.
**Use Cases and Limitations**
While the C expansion hard drive is an excellent storage solution for many use cases, it does have some limitations. The drive requires an external power adapter to function, making it unsuitable for portable use. Additionally, users need to ensure that their computer supports USB 3 before connecting the drive.
**Conclusion and Recommendations**
The C expansion hard drive is a fantastic option for users who need fast storage without breaking the bank. Its exceptional read speeds, energy efficiency, and compact design make it an excellent choice for video editors, content creators, and anyone in need of extra storage space. While it may not be suitable for portable use, its performance and features make it a worthwhile investment for users who value speed and convenience.
**Unboxing and Packaging**
The drive comes packaged in sturdy cardboard with a clear plastic window, allowing the user to see the drive's interior. The packaging also includes a USB 3 cable and an instruction manual. The box is compact, making it easy to store and transport.
**Final Thoughts**
Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with the performance and features of the C expansion hard drive. Its exceptional read speeds, energy efficiency, and compact design make it an excellent choice for users who need fast storage without breaking the bank. With its affordable price point, this drive is a must-have for anyone in need of extra storage space.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and in this video we'll be doing the review for the CATE expansion Drive uh the one I have is a 2 TB model but you also get this drive in 1 tby 2 tabes and even 4 tabes model and the interesting thing is that on the box it just specifies that it's for Windows and we don't have any uh Mac logos on it but it does work perfectly with the mac and I have been using this drive for the last 10 days with my Mac Mini and I'm going to show you the benchmarks Etc also this is a pretty fast drive because it connects over usb3 uh so if you want to get the best performance from this drive make sure your computer supports the USB 3 so this is the drive itself uh it's sitting uh beneath here and I've already done the unboxing for this uh drive so if you want to get an overview of it uh check out that but the body is made up of hard plastic and we just have one LED uh light over here as you can see and it glows when the drive is active or access but it does go to sleep automatically after some time if it's not used used and I've connected it to my Mac Mini via the USB 3 cable that is supplied even though I have this uh switch and hub over it I noticed that this drive does not heat up that much yes it does get a little bit warm when it is stressed and being actively used I have it connected to my Mac Mini all the time so every day it's on for about 12 odd hours or so but uh regarding the heat I did not notice any excessive heating or any excessive noise when the the drive is being used though it has a 7200 RPM hard drive inside it now let's do some benchmarking and let's see the performance of the C expansion hard drive so this is my Mac and we're going to Benchmark the drive and uh it works perfectly fine with Windows also and we're going to use this uh benchmarking software by default this drive is formatted into NTFS format that is for the windows PCS but you can format it easily and make it work on the Mac by using the Disk Utility and just formatting in the Mac General format now let's do the Benchmark so I'll just select this uh Cate expansion drive here is our drive I just chose that and let's start this test it's connected over USB 3 again as you can see the right speeds that we are getting is around 140 uh megabyte per second which is actually pretty fast and read speeds are also very close to that actually have seen the read speeds to go even further uh for again uh for example again the test is being done now as you can see right speeds we are getting around 150 mb per second which is actually pretty pretty fast I would say and again read speeds can go up to 170 megabytes per second so these are the benchmarking results but even real time testing I found the drive to be very fast one thing to note is that let me close this Benchmark this is not a kind of a portable hard drive because you have a power adapter connected to it so it needs that power adapter all the time if you just connected by the USB cable it doesn't power on it needs that external power so what I'll now do is uh this is our 2 TB C drive and uh let's just uh quickly just move one file this is a 1.5 GB file that is approximately about 1500 MB so let's move it and we are at 25 seconds I started it and let's see how much time it takes 30 seconds 34 so about 10 seconds it took to transfer that 1.5 gigs of file and so that means the read speeds are pretty good with this drive as you can see and now what I'll do is I'll just transfer this file that we have copied on my pen drive uh back to this uh C get drive to see how fast are the read speeds let uh this counter just go to 00 and I'll just drop in then yes I dropped it and let's see the speeds now and again uh it's pretty fast Drive I was thoroughly impressed with it again as you can see in 10 seconds it transferred that 1.5 gig of file so needless to say it is a pretty fast drive and I've been using this drive for my video editing work with Final Cut Pro and this drive was used for the last 15 videos that I produced for YouTube needless to say it performed very well uh with Final Cut Pro I just want to stress again that this is not kind of a portable hard drive that you can just move around everywhere because it needs that power adapter to be connected all the time and and I did purchase this drive online from Flipkart in India for around 5,600 and if you plan to purchase the drive from flip cart please use the link provided in the YouTube show notes it does help the channel overall I would say it's an excellent Drive considering the price to Performance ratio I've already made the unboxing video of this drive and also you can check out the USB 3 uh Hub that I am using with this drive that's also an excellent option so thank you for watching this video this is ranit and I hope to see you in my next videohi there this is Ranjit and in this video we'll be doing the review for the CATE expansion Drive uh the
