The Bowers & Wilkins PX Headphones: A Revolutionary Listening Experience
I'm holding here the house and Birkins first and always canceling headphones these are the he x as you can see they look fantastic it's not just looks you want these for it's for a sound and the intelligence that drives that sound. The most interesting part of the design of these PX headphones is actually hidden inside the air cup here so if we take the cover off it's magnetically attached.
First thing you're going to notice here is this driver unit which is angled now with many headphones if you look inside the driver is flat that's very reason for this being angled is because it winds better to your ear. Sounds pretty basic but surprisingly it's not in very many headphones and boughs and workers took considerable time to get this exactly right. It also gives them a lot more space inside these cups also extremely rigid it's taken considerable research and time to get the sound exactly right so we think that's a really nice innovation.
What's important here as well is this is a lot of space between the memory foam and leather surround and the headphone and that gives considerable more volume and sound quality once these are on your head they're not just any old Bluetooth this uses aptX HD that's the latest Bluetooth technology which gives you a CD quality sound that's available on phones like the LG G 6 the LG v 30 in a month plus five but the good thing is with apps xhd you also get better sound quality when you're using it with devices without aptX HD so even if you use an iPhone the sound is really good.
Now, let's talk about the noise cancellation system inside these headphones. It's Bowers and Wilkins own design they decided that they could do it why you better than buying an off-the-shelf system and we've been having a listen and we have to agree there's actually three different settings and they're all using a microphone system on top of the ear cups. The three systems are office city and flight kind of speak for themselves so if you've got the flight mode on that's the absolute highest intensity for the noise cancellation you won't hear anything from the sound of the engines or the people sitting next to you but in office mode it's way more open you'll still hear a little bit of what's going on around you.
The clever part here is a system that allows voices to pass through so again using these microphones the way that it works is you can adjust the intensity of help of the voices that come through so you can still hear the right people talking to you even in flight mode so when the steward comes up to you and says would you like another glass of wine sir you can still hear them. The clever part is with the app you can adjust the intensity on the fly so even if you don't want to hear people you can and that's adjustable throughout it uses the microphones so that when the person is facing you and in close proximity you can hear them but it's not the people three rows away from you then you can still hear chattering about their holiday a really nice feature.
Now, let me show you how these headphones work. I'll come back into the video and you get to see me wearing these headphones and the way it is that's why I put them on like this they are supremely comfortable by the way when they're working like this you put them on your headphones and the music will start playing straight away from the point at which it did do that it's thus playing from the moment you left it off so when you do that it pauses the music when you take them off then you put them down on the desk it puts it into a sleep mode gradually which extends the battery life. Battery life in these is 22 hours but if you use it on and off like most people would use headphones 50 hours and that's pretty cool for a set of bluetooth headphones.
It's also worth mentioning how comfortable they are even with me wearing headphones they feel absolutely fantastic and don't bother me too much in my glasses. These headphones are going to be on sale on October 3rd they cost four hundred dollars or 330 pounds and we're going to have a lot more about these headphones on digital trends very soon.
