Comparing the Video Quality of the New iPhone 10s Max
Hey guys, Max, here today to compare the video quality of the new iPhone 10s max with its predecessor, the iPhone 10. I'll start by using the selfie camera and showcasing the updated sensor and camera design that comes with the new model. As you can see, the new iPhone 10s max has a significant upgrade in terms of dynamic range, which translates to better video quality. This is especially noticeable when shooting at 4K resolution.
When I switch to the wide lens, the difference between the two phones becomes even more apparent. The new iPhone 10s max has a slight edge in terms of detail and color reproduction, particularly in scenes with complex lighting. I've cropped this shot to give you a better look at the differences. As you can see, the new phone is able to capture more details and colors that are lost on the older model.
Moving on to the telephoto lens, it's clear that both phones have made significant strides in autofocus technology. However, when it comes to shooting with a face involved, the difference between the two becomes even more pronounced. The iPhone 10s max is able to switch focus to my face almost instantly, while the older model struggles to lock onto my features until several frames later.
One notable feature of the new iPhone 10s max is its ability to record stereo audio. This means that music and sounds will be coming from different speakers on either side of your ears, creating a more immersive listening experience. However, it's worth noting that this feature was already available on the older model, albeit in a slightly different form.
When I switch back to shooting 4K at 30fps, the dynamic range difference between the two phones becomes even more apparent. The new iPhone 10s max is able to capture more detail and color, while the older model struggles to keep up. However, when slowing down the footage to 4k at 60fps, the differences are somewhat mitigated.
Another significant improvement of the new iPhone 10s max is its ability to record at a higher frame rate, specifically 1080p at 240fps. This allows for smoother slow-motion footage and more detailed playback. I've recorded this clip at 4k at 30fps and slowed it down to showcase the difference in detail and color.
When shooting in low-light conditions, the new iPhone 10s max is able to capture significantly more detail and color than the older model. The increased dynamic range allows for a wider range of tonal values, resulting in a more pleasing image. One notable example is when I've pointed the camera at the painting on the wall near the lamp, which would otherwise be blown out by the bright light.
As you can see, the new iPhone 10s max has made significant strides in terms of video quality compared to its predecessor. With improved dynamic range, better autofocus, and enhanced slow-motion capabilities, this phone is sure to impress even the most discerning videographers. Whether shooting in bright or low-light conditions, the new iPhone 10s max delivers top-notch video quality that's hard to match.
In addition to these technical improvements, it's also worth noting that the camera design has been updated with a more modern look and feel. The overall build quality is improved, making for a more comfortable shooting experience.
Overall, the new iPhone 10s max is an excellent upgrade to the video capabilities of its predecessor. With its impressive dynamic range, better autofocus, and enhanced slow-motion features, this phone is sure to please even the most demanding videographers. Whether you're a professional or just starting out with mobile photography, this phone is definitely worth considering.
In conclusion, the new iPhone 10s max has clearly demonstrated significant improvements in video quality compared to its predecessor. With its advanced camera design and impressive technical capabilities, this phone is sure to become a go-to device for anyone looking to take their mobile photography to the next level.
