is the Zen book edition 30 and just in case you're wondering it's not the 30th model of Zen book ever made it's a Zen book to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Asus I have a feeling we have lots to cover so we're diving straight in let's open this up who wants to count boxes with me 1 2 3 boxes wow this is pretty classy a full leather box complete with stitching and asus is 30th anniversary logo embossed in this mirror finish doesn't it remind you of Star Trek alright Open Sesame nice hmm what's this a gold cart I'm not sure what this is maybe a certificate of authenticity of some sort it is after all a limited edition laptop so the inside of the box has its own gurgle lift hinge one side lifts up so you can easily take the laptop out but let's set it aside for now what else looks like there's more in here I love the felt interior on this box come on try you got to feel this all right let's pull on this inside is nothing oh no really there's nothing guys perhaps the manuals and paperwork will come when the actual retail unit chips moving on another leather esque bucks let's see if I can open this up oops okay let's try that again they're much better inside you have the fast charging brick and a special edition bluetooth mouse with the same a 30th anniversary Asus logo and last this inside you have a mousepad for that special edition mouse and this uber stylish genuine leather pouch all right now let's take a closer look at the Zen book edition 30 like I said earlier this laptop is on a limited release its outer shell is made from genuine Italian leather the book edition 30 comes with a full HD nano edge display with very narrow bezels giving it a 95% screen to body ratio despite the tiny bezels aces managed to keep the camera up here it's an IR camera too so apart from making video calls you can log in using Windows hello and your face now that the computer is on notice how the touchpad lights up almost as if it were a display that's because it is Asus calls this technology screen pad it lets you do things like write an article and listen to music on Spotify or if you can drag a Chrome browser window to the screen pad so that maybe you can watch a YouTube video while you work or just use it as a dedicated numpad when you need your trackpad you just tap over here and the screen pad will dim back to trackpad mode typing on the Zen book Edition 30 feels comfortable with enough key travel that makes keystrokes feel more satisfying and more accurate so is the Asus Zenbook Edition 30 your gadget match I haven't had enough time with the new laptop to give you a recommendation but in the days that I've had it I use it to write the script for this video while listening to music from a movie I just saw on paper the Zen book Edition 30 is a very capable laptop having its own discrete graphics card means it can handle basic video editing and gaming I'm extremely jet-lagged here in Taipei so I may have also caught up on some Netflix shows in the middle of the morning the 16 by 9 widescreen aspect ratio means the display is more rectangle than squarish like on say a MacBook which is great for movies and when you're using the built-in split screen feature on windows to multitask the display is adequately bright even when I used it outdoors sound quality is great clarity especially but it's not the loudest we've seen on a notebook Zenbook fans will definitely want this limited edition release but also Windows users who want a powerful machine in a slim form factor but also those who want something that looks and feels
