The Swiss Case Glacier Case for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S: A Review

Hey guys, Ellie with imore, and today we're going to take a look at the Swiss case Glacier case for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S. This case retails for $30 right now in the imore store, and it's available in a variety of colors, including black, blue, pink, hot pink, teal, and some even two-toned options.

This case is not meant to be a heavily protective case, but it will help prevent against scratches. Coming around the side of this case, you have full access to your mute switch, volume buttons, power button up top, and all of your ports at the bottom. Regardless of what kind of cables you use - third party or stock - you're not going to have an issue.

Along the back of this case, there's a very cool design that I'm actually quite fond of. You can still see the Apple logo through here, and you have full access to your camera right here, which I like. I've tried this case with the Flash on and off, no issues. When looking dead on, it's barely noticeable that this phone has a case on it. Coming around the sides, you don't have that little lip that some cases have running along this side here. This is good if you like really Slim cases; however, this is bad if you want a little extra protection or privacy.

Sometimes I like cases where I can put my phone face down on the table, so when we're out to dinner or doing something, people don't see my phone lighting up like a Christmas tree. I have a little bit more privacy, and I don't feel like I can do that with this case because this lip doesn't come up around here. So, I feel like I don't really have a little bit of a barrier between the table and my screen. This is not good for that; however, it's good for the thin profile.

The material of this case is also kind of like a rubbery silicone but it's hard like a plastic. I find that pocket lint doesn't stick to this. I've also found that it's easy to slide in and out of your pocket - it doesn't stick; it's grippy enough that it gives you a little bit of extra grip over the actual aluminum bezel on the phone, but it doesn't prevent you from pulling it in and out of a pocket easily.

As far as putting this case on and off goes, I'll pull it off here real quick. It's very easy to take off, very easy to put back on. So, basically, I always line up my volume buttons and then just snap it in there right like that.
