Galaxy S3 Launch in India Hands on Feat HTC One X, Sony Xperia S

**Hands-On with the Galaxy S3: Unboxing and First Impressions**

We were recently invited to the launch event of Samsung's latest flagship device, the Galaxy S3, in New Delhi. The event provided us with an opportunity to get hands-on with the device and share our first impressions. In this article, we will take you through our experience with the Galaxy S3.

**Design and Display**

One of the first things that caught our attention was the design of the Galaxy S3. The device has a sleek and slim body, measuring 115 x 58.6 x 8.1 mm in dimensions. The front-facing camera is placed at the top center of the device, with a resolution of 1.9 megapixels. The rear-facing camera is also notable for its high resolution of 8 megapixels, capable of capturing full HD video. The device features a Super AMOLED display, which provides excellent color reproduction and visibility.

The screen on the S3 is bright and vivid, with good viewing angles. The pinch-to-zoom feature works smoothly and seamlessly, allowing users to easily navigate through the interface. When we pulled down from the top of the screen, we were greeted by the notification panel, complete with quick launch widgets for power, Wi-Fi, mobile data, and more.

**Operating System and Software**

The Galaxy S3 is powered by Android 4.0.3 (jelly bean), which is currently the latest version available in the market. However, Samsung has also announced that a software update will be made available for the device, bringing it up to Android 4.0.4. This shows that Samsung is committed to providing timely updates and security patches for its devices.

**Camera**

The camera application on the S3 is intuitive and user-friendly, with options such as flash settings, scene modes, shooting modes, and more. One notable feature is the "Share Shot" feature, which allows users to take a photo of themselves and share it instantly with friends. There's also the "Buddy Photo Share" feature, which enables users to share their photos on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

The camera features a Best Shot mode, burst mode, HDR, and more, making it an excellent device for photography enthusiasts. When we switched to video mode, we were pleased to see that the S3 can record full HD video without any issues.

**Comparison with Other Devices**

To put things into perspective, we compared the Galaxy S3 with other devices in terms of size. The device is slightly smaller than the HTC One X, but larger than the Xperia S. When it comes to display quality, the Xperia S has a higher resolution display, which provides an even more vivid and detailed visual experience.

However, the S3's Super AMOLED display still holds its own, providing excellent color reproduction and visibility. The thickness of the devices varies, with the HTC One X being slightly thicker than the Galaxy S3.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, our hands-on experience with the Galaxy S3 was overwhelmingly positive. The device's sleek design, vibrant display, and user-friendly interface make it an attractive option for those looking for a high-end Android smartphone. With its impressive camera capabilities and feature-rich software, the S3 is sure to be a hit among Android enthusiasts.
