Xiaomi Redmi 2 (2015 Model) Gaming Review

**Testing the Performance of Redmi 2 with Gaming and Heat Gun**

As we begin our test, it's clear that this device is capable of handling demanding games without any significant issues. Let's start by playing Dead Trigger, a popular first-person shooter game known for its intense action sequences. The device's performance is impressive, with smooth frame rates and responsive controls. We've been gaming for about 7 minutes now, and the temperatures are starting to rise, but the device remains cool to the touch.

**Testing Asphalt 8 at High Graphics Settings**

Next, we move on to Asphalt 8, another high-performance game that pushes the device's graphics capabilities to the limit. We're using the highest graphics setting by default, which is set to medium earlier in the test. However, since our goal was to see how it performs at its highest level, we've kept it on high. The game runs smoothly, with only occasional drop frames visible when you look closely. The device's heat gun reveals that temperatures are rising, particularly around the screen and back of the device.

**Testing One More Level and Modern Combat 5**

We then switch to One More Level, a more casual game, to assess the device's performance at medium graphics settings. We play for a couple of minutes, and the device handles it with ease, without any issues or lagginess. Next, we move on to Modern Combat 5, a more resource-intensive game that requires high-end hardware to run smoothly. Despite this, the Redmi 2 performs admirably, handling even the most demanding levels with minimal drop in performance.

**Assessing Heat and Temperature Performance**

As we continue our test, it becomes clear that while the device can handle demanding games without issue, it does get warm during extended gaming sessions. The heat gun reveals temperatures around 40°C near the screen, but significantly hotter on the back of the device, reaching up to 43°C. This is not extremely hot, but it's still noticeable.

**Conclusion and Final Thoughts**

Based on our test results, we can conclude that the Redmi 2 is a capable gaming device, able to handle most games without significant issues. However, it does get warm during extended gaming sessions, particularly around the screen and back of the device. The device's performance at high graphics settings is impressive, but not always smooth. Nonetheless, for casual gamers looking for a reliable and affordable device, the Redmi 2 is definitely worth considering.

The device's cooling system is not as effective as some other devices on the market, but it still provides a good gaming experience.

**Final Thoughts on Heat and Temperature Performance**

Finally, regarding heat and temperature performance, we found that while the device can handle demanding games without issue, it does get warm during extended gaming sessions. However, this is not extremely hot, and the device's cooling system does an adequate job of managing temperatures.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is ranit and I have this uh xiaomi redmi 2 with me and in this video we'll be doing the gaming review with this device and uh this one sports a Snapdragon 410 chipset let me actually show you compared to the redmi 1 which had a Snapdragon 400 again it's a quadcore processor clogged at 1.2 GHz and the GPU on this is the Adrena 306 and this is the version that is going to be sold in India and this has 1 gig of RAM and regarding the screen resolution it's still the 720 HD screen and again as you can see the viewing angles are really nice on this device and I'm still testing the battery but initial uh Impressions I would say the battery life is pretty good and these are the sensors provided so let's start some gaming and uh some of you have asked me how much RAM is available on this device after uh we uh kill all the apps so let's do that let me just kill everything and we get about 470 MB uh free out of that one gig and we'll start with Dead Trigger 2 and then quickly move to other games so this is Dead Trigger 2 I'll take that and as you can see it is handling this game pretty well lots of action going on and we noticed no lagginess or anything and though this one has just a single speaker it's uh pretty loud moving to the next level ah that was close and as you can see it is playing this dead trigger game very well so let's move out of this one and let's uh play another game and I also have my heat gun so we'll uh test the temperatures it's been about 7 odd minutes since we were gaming so let's check the temperatures now and uh as you can see around 36 37° C uh near the the screen and let's look at the back and this is around 40 41 it did touch so it is getting a bit form but let's continue and let's uh try to play some heavy games now like asphal 8 so this is asphal 8 and we are at the highest graphic setting by default it was at medium but I've kept it on high to show you how it performs in high settings and then we'll move back to the default setting that is medium and I'm using the on screen steering and this is at the highest setting that is high it is very much playable but not the smoothest uh frame rates I would say so as you can see it is very much playable but uh at this highest setting there are some drop frames if you look very closely but as you can see it is handling it for the most part pretty well trying the drift now so let me do one thing now uh instead of this highest graphic setting uh let let me move back to the default setting that is medium and then we'll play One More Level and see how it handles it so we'll play this Tokyo level uh for a couple of minutes and this is at the medium Graphics setting and then we'll move to Modern Combat 5 to see how it handles it and regarding heat uh now I'm starting to notice that it's getting just a little bit warm not too hot we'll check the temperatures after we finish this level and as you can see it's handling this one very well without any issues so if you keep it at the medium Graphics Set uh graphic settings you'll have a good experience with Asphalt 8 as you can see I'm in complete control so it should play this this asphal 8 very well and uh now it's been over 15 OD minutes since we were gaming uh so let's just get out of this one and move to Modern Combat 5 but before that let's look at the temperatures and as you can see it's touching around 40° C around the screen uh this area is getting a little bit warm and on back again it's getting pretty hot it did touch 43° C this area is particularly getting uh hot I would say let's just move to Modern Combat 5 now and let's see how it handles it so this is Modern Combat 5 uh FPS game and we'll play this for a few minutes and this is a pretty resource intensive game it looks like it's handling this one also pretty fine advance to extraction point and now the device is getting a bit uh uh pretty warm I would say not very hot but pretty warm but we'll look at the temperatures uh after a couple of minutes hit them go then now I did not notice any lagginess at least on this game let's see keep Chopper incoming keep hang on but in terms of Graphics it's able to handle it I would say pretty fine fire godam I think we're in the clear oh hit it back up the and as you can see still no lagginess so it's able to handle this game actually very well all over us now these are pretty heavy games I would say uh this red me2 will H handle any casual game you throw at it and as you can see even heavy games we are having actually a pretty good experience so this level is almost done and we just crossed 20 yard minutes since we started this uh gaming so let's look at the temperatures again uh near the screen it's around 40° C as you can see 40.5 but let's look at the back here it was getting a bit on the hotter side and as you can see it's it did touch about 43° C also here so I would say it is getting uh pretty warm but not very hot or uncomfortable I would say uh so what do I think about this redm 2 as you can see for gaming also this is a pretty good device and it could handle most of the games we at it without any issues but uh one thing to not is that yes it can get a little bit warm but in terms of gaming I would say it could handle most of the games we threw at it without any issues I'll also be posting the full in-depth review for this redm 2 very soon so if you're not subscribed to my YouTube channel hit that subscribe button it's free to subscribe thanks for watching this is ranit and I hope to see
