We built a patio for our cat… a CATIO!

Hey Guys, We're Evan and Katelyn Today We're Doing Something Special for Our Supurrvisor

We're excited to share with you our latest project, which is a patio for a cat. Yes, you read that right - we're building a catio! As we mentioned earlier, one of our supurravisors loves looking out the window, and we thought it would be paw-fect to create a cozy space for her to enjoy. We've seen some catios online get a little bit out of hand, but we decided to go with something simpler this time.

Our Design: A Simple yet Cozy Space

We've 3D modeled our design, which should be simple enough to follow. The plan is to build one leg piece first, as it will rest on the window sill and we want to see if it fits before building the entire thing. We just need to cut these pieces to length, and then join them together using pocket holes - because they're really easy, that's why! We've also added some playful electronic music to set the mood for our project.

Joining It All Together

Before we take it outside and test it, let's see if it fits. Yeah, wait... This should be a pretty simple design to follow. Katelyn asks us if we're going to put some feet on that - and indeed, there is a giant gap in the bottom! Thankfully, our catio design works great, and we can smash it with a hammer to make sure it's secure.

The Moment of Truth

Now it's time to add one more piece to complete our catio. Katelyn asks us what happened after Evan tried to use his "magic clap" trick - it turned out that the pocket holes were on the wrong side! But don't worry, we just duplicated the design and fixed it on the first try. We're glad that strategy worked!

Adding More Pieces

We've added four pieces of wood to join these together, which is a pretty simple design if you ask us. The four boards are holding up perfectly, so this strategy worked like a charm! Now, we just have 15 more pieces left to go - and we can't wait to see the finished product.

Finishing Touches

Finally, it's time to add some finishes to our catio. We still have a lot more work left to do, but we're excited to see the final result. And as Evan jokes, "I was like, 'What now?' - haha! But seriously, we can't wait to share our finished catio with our supurrvisor and show her how cool it is."
