Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus Drop Test + Drone Drop from 1000 ft

The Moto G 5 Drop Test: A Descent into Destruction

We began our experiment with the Moto G 5, dropping it from a height of six feet to test its durability. As expected, the phone's back came apart completely, revealing a multitude of scratches and dents on its surface. However, to our surprise, the phone itself was still intact, with only minor cosmetic damage. The screen was functioning perfectly fine, and the phone powered on without any issues.

We decided to continue testing the Moto G 5 by dropping it again, this time from a height of six feet while recording video. This time, the back came apart completely once more, but fortunately, no significant damage occurred to the phone's internal components. The screen remained undamaged, and the phone continued to function normally.

Next, we decided to take the Moto G 5 to new heights by dropping it from a drone at an altitude of approximately 1000 feet. We carefully aimed the drone at the phone and dropped it, capturing the entire descent on camera. As expected, the phone's back came apart completely, and it suffered significant damage, including a bent corner and a cracked screen.

Despite the extensive damage, we were surprised to find that the Moto G 5 was still functional after the drop. The phone's internal components had withstood the impact, and it continued to power on, albeit with some cosmetic damage. However, the phone's exterior was severely compromised, with a bent corner and a cracked screen.

To further test the Moto G 5's durability, we decided to drop it again, this time from a height of approximately six feet onto solid concrete. We captured the entire event on camera, documenting the phone's descent and impact. As expected, the phone suffered significant damage, including a severely bent corner and a cracked screen.

Despite the extensive damage, we were able to power the Moto G 5 on after the drop, albeit with some difficulties. The phone's internal components had been compromised, but it was still functional, albeit in a limited capacity. However, the phone's exterior was severely damaged, with a bent corner and a cracked screen.

The Results: A Descent into Destruction

As we documented in our previous sections, the Moto G 5 suffered significant damage after each drop test. The phone's back came apart completely on multiple occasions, revealing a multitude of scratches and dents on its surface. Despite the extensive damage, however, the phone itself was still functional, albeit with some cosmetic issues.

The most surprising result of our experiment was the phone's ability to survive a 1000-foot drop from a drone onto solid concrete. The phone's internal components had withstood the impact, and it continued to power on, albeit with some difficulties. However, the phone's exterior was severely damaged, with a bent corner and a cracked screen.

The Moto G 5 Drop Test: A Cautionary Tale

Our experiment serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of durability in smartphones. While the Moto G 5 may have survived each drop test, it is clear that its exterior is severely compromised after even moderate impacts. The phone's internal components are designed to withstand the rigors of daily use, but they are not immune to damage.

As we continue to develop and release new smartphone models, it is essential that manufacturers prioritize durability in their design process. While a phone may be able to survive multiple drops and impacts, it is still possible for its internal components to suffer damage or failure. Therefore, it is crucial to consider the long-term implications of a phone's durability and design when making purchasing decisions.

Conclusion

Our drop test experiment has provided valuable insights into the durability of the Moto G 5 smartphone. While the phone itself was able to survive each impact, its exterior suffered significant damage on multiple occasions. The phone's internal components were compromised, but it continued to power on in a limited capacity.

As we continue to develop and release new smartphone models, it is essential that manufacturers prioritize durability in their design process. By doing so, we can ensure that our smartphones are able to withstand the rigors of daily use and provide years of reliable service.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys what's up this is Barrett we want to do a quick drop test video because the drop test that we did in the previous video for the moto G 5 plus was a little inaccurate we dropped it in salt even though salt is really tough the phone managed to get inside the salt and not fall flat so this time we're on concrete we're in a basketball code which is cemented and we're going to be testing out the Moto G 5 plus and the Moto G 5 so let's get started so now I've got a moto G 5 plus and I've got a handheld camera it's extremely bright I don't know if you guys can see the screen it's a perfectly working phone if I try and turn on the camera because of the brightness I probably will not be able to show you what this phone is like but I'm going to start recording on this so that we get some footage from the phone itself while it's dropping so what we want to do is first drop it on its back face up and 3 2 1 is what the phone is there's absolutely nothing that has happened to the phone and it looks to be completely clean no damage there is a little bit of a scuff here which is on the chrome but nothing major just a bit of scratches that's thanks to the concrete so it's still recording I'm going to stop this part and what we're going to do now is drop it face first so same thing out of the pocket face first and 3 2 1 so that bounced quite a lot let's see how that did and yeah nothing the screen seems to be intact no scratches it's still recording I'm going to stop the video and if you guys can see it's really bright it has completely survived so no issues with that whatsoever ok so now since the phone has survived in both circumstances what I'm going to do is pretend like I was talking on the phone and it somehow slipped out of my hand it drops on its back so 3 2 1 again it seems to have completely survived I'm going to switch to my handheld camera you have a bunch of Nicks here some scratches but the back is fine the camera lens is fine and the phone is still recording video so I'm going to stop that and it seems to have completely survived the back test and start recording so what's up and what I'm going to do is I'm going to pretend like I'm simply goofy and I'm on the phone and I somehow managed to drop it from my face height and I'm about 6 feet 2 inches tall so about 6 feet height and 3 2 1 again it bounced quite a lot on that one I'm going to start video recording again on my handheld phone and this is the situation and the screen seems to have survived again I have a bunch of Nick's on the sides of the phone the plastic seems to have got a bit of damage the bezels have a bit of damage but overall the phone seems to have survived so that is excellent now it's time to try the motor g5 so I've got the Moto G 5 now this is plastic + polycarbonate I mean no plastic + wallet no polycarbonate glass metal on the back and so this is what it's going to do from the pocket height about two and a half three feet and on the back of the Moto G 5 and we'll start video recording with my phone as well in three two one so the back completely opened up and the phone did toss up if you can see we do have a bunch of scratches over here if I pick up the phone is still recording video so I'll turn that off but everything else on the phone is fine the back is extremely scratched up I do have a whole lot of scratches over here but the phone in itself is intact the screen is working perfectly fine in three two one oh that completely came apart oh and that's what the phone looks like now so we've got the battery the cover everything that has come off so that's the back with the cover attach the screen seems to be fine I'm going to try and power it on and it does power on I don't know if you guys can see it on the screen but hopefully it caught some of that video okay so I started video recording on the Moto G 5 again now it's got this one little bent or dent on the top right I'm going to drop it from about 6 feet height on the back this time three two one dropping pick this up and seek I have only one hand the back came apart completely again but no damage so far this is recording which I'm going to stop it but again it's that bent in the corner the back is crashed up dinged up but not too shabby for a 6 feet drop on this phone 6 feet height 3 2 1 oh that was bad oh let's see how that performs and oh it's gone completely gone and gone to the point where I can't even see the screen okay the screen is on and let me pull out of this a little bit into the shade so I can show you guys the screen is on and it's still in the camera and as you guys can see the phone is completely gone so it's the same phone that we just dropped right now from the six feet and then I'm going to mount it on this drone over here take it about a thousand feet into the air and then drop it and let's see if it survives so that's the drone I'm gonna quickly start it up and it's ready to go so hopefully if you guys can see the phone as hangings on that it's time to go up okay so we are at about 100 meters Alan is 50 and I'm going to point down now about 200 meters of height pointing down seize the coat a line is so that you get a little bit more Oh actually I think I have crossed the court hopefully now that I'm pointing directly down I'm going to try and aim it in the center a little bit we're at about 200 meters in height so now going the whole way yeah so I'm gonna drop three-two-one it's coming dropping dropping it's falling it's gonna destroy itself oh wow that took a big big jump hopefully it survived it completely bent out of shape oh it's completely gone and that guy's is what happens when you drop a phone from about a thousand feet onto solid concrete there's no way this one is working actually it's surprising to see so the phone is completely aren't I'm going to carry this into the shade and see what it looks like okay guys so this is what it looks like in the shade you can see it's completely dinged out of shape over at the top here where the SIM card goes that place is completely out of whack looks completely crooked or at the bottom here the screen is completely gone but surprisingly enough the phone is still working and if you have to make a phone call you could possibly do that so if your phone somehow manages to fall out of the sky and land on the ground this is what will look like with the bent corners and everything but you will be able to use it you wouldn't want to touch this glass is actually sharp I am catching my finger on that but it's not bad for a phone that was dropped from about 200 meters not completely a thousand feet but still a pretty good height thank you for watching guys we hope you enjoyed our drop test the phone is still working the motor g5 actually shattered completely when I dropped it from about six feet with the Moto G five-plus from about 200 meters has survived is still working and I can probably still shoot video from it I'm going to turn on the front camera it's completely shattered but I'm getting video recording on this phone after it survived about a 200 meter drop so thank you for watching if you like this video don't forget to smash that like button and hit that subscribe button along with our bail notification icon so that you get notified each time we upload a new video we have some more interesting drop tests coming up so stay tuned for those guys like well calling calling falling falling falling etc OHhey guys what's up this is Barrett we want to do a quick drop test video
