Samsung Galaxy A8 Duos Unboxing and Hands on - iGyaan

**First Impression: Samsung Galaxy A8 First Look**

The first thing that stands out when you turn on the device is the very familiar Samsung interface, which is located on the right-hand side. Once you've set up your Flipboard feed, you'll have access to a wide range of technology news and business news directly on your home screen. The interface is extremely fast and fluid, with no noticeable lag or glitches.

**Unboxing and Hardware**

One thing that Samsung has wisely done is avoided using the 615 chipset in India, which is known for heating up quickly and draining battery life. Instead, they've opted for the Exynos 5430 chipset, which seems to be more stable. The device comes with a range of pre-installed apps, including Microsoft Office apps such as One Drive, One Note, and Skype. However, it's worth noting that some Samsung apps are not pre-installed on this model.

**Smart Manager and Additional Features**

The Smart Manager is a useful tool that allows you to set up or monitor your battery, storage, and RAM usage. It also provides an option to clean applications that are consuming too much battery or RAM, freeing up space for more essential apps. This feature can be especially useful for those who tend to forget to close unnecessary apps.

**Display and Performance**

The display on the Samsung Galaxy A8 is truly impressive, with a Vivid color scheme that's both bright and highly visible outdoors. We were able to play video on it without any issues, and the speaker is loud enough to be heard in most environments. However, due to its placement next to the camera, it can sometimes be muffled.

**Camera Capabilities**

The camera app on this device allows you to customize your shooting experience with a range of settings and modes. While it doesn't have the same lens setup as the Galaxy S6, which includes an f/1.9 aperture, it does have a 16-megapixel sensor that seems to produce high-quality images. The camera also has additional modes available for download, including a photo editor app.

**Bloatware and Software**

One of the most notable features of this device is the lack of Samsung's own bloatware. This means that you can choose exactly which apps you want to install on your phone, without any unnecessary pre-installed software getting in the way. The device runs on Android 5.1.1, which is a stable and secure version of the operating system.

**Fingerprint Scanner**

The fingerprint scanner on this device is similar to the Touch ID scanner found on Apple's iPhones or the biometric scanner used by Samsung itself on some of its other devices. It's easy to set up and use, requiring simply a tap of your finger to unlock your phone.

**Conclusion and Verdict**

Overall, we're extremely happy with what Samsung has done with this device. The pricing seems reasonable, especially considering that it would be approximately twice as expensive if it were powered by the Snapdragon 615 chipset. Additionally, the full metal body gives the device a premium feel that's hard to ignore. With its fast and responsive interface, high-quality display, and impressive camera capabilities, the Samsung Galaxy A8 is definitely worth considering for anyone in the market for a new smartphone.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enlooks like Samsung is not ready to take a break my name is bhat nagpal today we're going to be unboxing in taking a firsthand look at the new Samsung Galaxy A8 now this phone is an online exclusive device launched in India for a price of 32,500 rup and we're going to be quickly unboxing it this device is supposedly a cheaper yet bigger version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 in terms of design and aesthetic it is designed to mimic that it also has an exos processor in India whereas in China it has been launched with the Snapdragon 615 in India it's been launched with an xos chipset let's quickly go ahead and unbox it and see what all is inside the box as you can see on the box it's been designed to work with Indian SIM cards only so initially when you start up the device you'll need to use about 10 to 15 minutes of Indian calling before you can travel overseas and pop in a non-indian SIM card it can be quite annoying uh sometimes I traveled once without using the phone and I was unable to use it overseas so make sure that you're using the phone for a little while and making some phone calls before you travel overseas first thing inside the box is the phone itself as you can see it's all metal back and it's in this gold color I'm going to put it to the side I'm going to go further in we have some documentation a quick start guide some warranty information information and S information you also have a standard USB wall charger you also get a USB to micro USB charging and data syncing Cable in ear style earphones with a send and end button and a volume up and down button you also get additional ear tips for these earphones and you also have a SIM removal tool which will help you uh basically remove the trays designed to pop in SIM cards this is the device itself it looks really nice it's only 5.9 mm in terms of thickness I'm sure that's excluding the camera bezel up top if you compare it to the S6 uh they're quite identical in terms of design I have an S6 Edge over here but if you were looking at an S6 you would see a completely similar sort of design on both these devices you even have the same fingerprint scanner at the bottom of the device so let's do a one over over at the top you have a 5 megap camera along with a bunch of sensors and the earpiece along with the Samsung logo below that you have a 5.7 in 1920 x 1080p display uh which is relatively lower compared to uh its elder brother which is the Samsung Galaxy S6 over at the bottom you have two touch capacitive buttons a physical home button which is also a fingerprint scanner and if you look at the bottom edge of the device you have a micro USB charging data syncing Port the 3.5mm headphone jack if you turn over to the right of the device you'll see the the main power button over at the top you have an infrared blaster Port uh this will help you control your television Etc and over at the left are your volume rockers along with the dual SIM trays now one tray will accept one sim card and the other tray will accept either one sim card or a Micro SD card so it's your choice you can use two SIM cards or you can use one sim card and a Micro SD card now everything runs on a Samsung exos 5430 system on chip with which does have 1.8 GHz on quad course along with 1.3 GHz on quad course you also get 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of inbuilt storage now over at the back you have a 16 megap camera along with the speaker phone which is on the left and a high dispersive LED light which is on the right so once you turn on the device you'll see a very familiar Samsung interface over at the left you have Flipboard uh you can quickly set up your Flipboard feed and uh get your technology news your business news Etc directly on the left of the home screen uh all you need to do is quickly set it up with the kind of information you want and then you're good to go the interface is really fast and fluid and the device seems to be doing really well we're sort of happy that Samsung hasn't used the 615 chipset in India because it is uh known to heat up as well as drain battery quickly the exos is slightly more stable we don't have a lot of Samsung apps pre-installed but you can use the Galaxy app store to download uh extra Samsung applications if you are used to them you also have this uh smart manager which allows you to set up or monitor your battery your storage your RAM Etc and then you can clean all it'll improve uh or kill applications that are consuming battery or Ram too much and free up some RAM and storage space for you you also have Microsoft apps pre-installed one drive one note and Skype is pre-installed you can't remove it there was a vchart application which was easily removable by going into the applications list and sort of uninstalling so we we were able to uninstall the only one application that was pre-loaded onto the device you can't get rid of the Microsoft applications the device is running Android 5.1.1 which is fantastic uh you will get updates to the Future variants because this device is relatively new so the updat should roll out relatively quickly but we not too sure with Samsung sometimes they're quick sometimes they're not user interface is really fast and responsive even the browser is really quick and snappy you scroll in is easy you can switch from portrait to landscape no lag there whatsoever uh we're pretty happy with what Samsung has been able to do with this device and the pricing also seems okay but when you compare it to devices with similar specs so if it had a Snapdragon 615 uh this device would be approximately twice in terms of pricing uh but thanks to the exos chipset uh the pricing seems a lot better also it has a full metal body uh which gives it that other advantage and then you have this camera applic ation it allows you to uh customize uh how you're shooting you can go into a pro mode and set up everything you have up to a 16 megap capture but you can only do it in 4x3 if you on 16x9 you'll have to shoot at 12 megap video size is limited to 1080P and we're not getting cord HD which is a disappointment uh the camera seems to be good it apparently has the same sensor as the S6 but it does not have the same lens setup so you don't get the f1.9 aperture but you have a 16 pix Snapper which is of the same quality apparently the lenses also don't seem to be as wide as on the Galaxy S6 so you're not going to get that wide range of view uh you can download a bunch of additional modes for the camera uh you can also download a photo editor uh which will allow you to edit your pictures on the fly so the one thing that Samsung has done is not loaded the device with Samsung's own bloatware so you can download exactly the amount of things that you need to use uh with this device and then not download things that you won't use the display is really nice and Vivid it's really bright and uh highly visible Outdoors uh we were able to uh Play video on it without any issue and uh the speaker is loud enough although it's located at the back next to the camera so it's easy to muffle up but the speaker is loud enough and we have no issues with that uh the display is also nice and Vivid and colors seem to be slightly oversaturated in the same Samsung format uh but it looks good the display and video playback looks fantastic on this device stay tuned for our full in-depth review of the new Samsung Galaxy A8 coming out shortly if you have any questions or queries do drop them in the comment section below uh one thing that we forgot to mention is the fingerprint scanner it's like a touch ID scanner or similar to the scanner that we saw on the Galaxy S6 so uh you can just simply tap your finger on the scanner to set up your finger it's fairly easy to do so like I said guys leave comments and feedback in the comment section below make sure you hit that subscribe button and subscribe to Igan on YouTube check us out on .in
