Nintendo 3DS Release Date and Wii Remote Plus

Nintendo Conference Over 3DS in Japan

The Nintendo conference over 3DS in Japan has come and gone, and while it may not have been the most exciting event, there were still some notable announcements made. The first piece of news was that the Wii remote is being redesigned to include a new accessory called Wi Motion Plus. However, this change will actually be integrated into the Wii console itself, rather than being an additional accessory. As such, it's not necessarily a big deal, and we don't have an exact date for when this update will be released.

A Big Deal: 3DS Pricing and Release Date

However, one announcement that is indeed significant is the pricing and release date of the Nintendo 3DS. The release date is set to be February 2011 for Japan and March 2011 for the US and Europe. As for the pricing, it's going to be roughly $300 in Japan, although we're expecting a slightly lower price point of around $250-$300 for the US and Europe. This is still quite a bit more than what you might expect to pay for a DS console today.

Unique Features of the 3DS

One of the most exciting announcements made during the conference was the inclusion of a virtual console on the 3DS. This will allow players to download and play Nintendo Game Boy games, similar to the Wii's Virtual Console feature. However, it's worth noting that this won't be a cartridge-based system - instead, you'll be able to download these games digitally for a certain number of points (presumably Wii points, but we're not entirely sure). This is definitely a cool feature, and it will be great to see some of our favorite Game Boy games make their way onto the 3DS.

Another interesting feature announced during the conference was the inclusion of Miis on the 3DS. For those who may not know, Miis are customized digital characters that players can create and use in various Nintendo games. On the Wii, you could take a picture of yourself and have it used as your Mii - on the 3DS, this feature will be improved and allow you to take a photo of yourself and generate a new Mii based on that image. This is definitely a nice touch, and it's exciting to think about being able to create and customize your own digital avatar.

Other Details

In addition to these major announcements, there were a few other details revealed during the conference. For one, the 3DS will come with a 2GB SD card pre-installed, which should provide ample storage space for players to download games and other content. Overall, it seems like Nintendo has put a lot of thought into designing the 3DS, and it's clear that they're committed to making this console a success.

The Final Thoughts

Overall, while the conference may not have been the most exciting event, there were still some notable announcements made about the 3DS. The inclusion of a virtual console and Miis are definite positives, and we can't wait to see these features in action on our consoles when they're released in February for Japan and March for the US and Europe. As always, we'd love to hear your thoughts - what do you think about the 3DS? Are you excited about its release date or unique features? Let us know in the comments!

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys so today I'm here with an overview of the Wii remote plus as well as the release date pricing and quite a few really interesting details about the Nintendo 3DS so I have to excuse me if I don't look quite normal it's very very late here right now in fact Nintendo just finished up their conference over in Japan uh so let's go and just take a look at what all they announced uh so the first thing and not really that big a deal is that they have redesigned the Wii remote uh so I'm sure as many of you guys know there's an accessory where you go ahead and plug it into the back back is the called the wi Motion Plus well pretty much all the only change is that now it is going to be integrated into the Wii console itself or rather the Wii remote uh so not a huge deal and in fact we don't actually have an exact date of when this is going to be coming out uh but again not that big a deal now what is a big deal is all the new information we have on the Nintendo 3DS uh so actually they announced quite a few really unique and interesting things uh but first let's go ahead and just talk about what I'm sure most of you guys are interested in which is pricing and release date uh so the release date is going to be February 2011 for Japan and March 2011 for the us as well as Europe uh so yeah not that great of news uh that was pretty much the kind of you know far out what we were expecting um personally I was hoping that we would maybe see it this year but not that big a deal um now as far as pricing goes they didn't actually announce what the pricing would be for Europe and the United States however it's it's going to be roughly uh in US Dollars it's going to be roughly about $300 in Japan um personally I think it might be just a little bit less than that perhaps around $250 maybe $300 so it's going to we're going to have to wait a little bit longer to see what exactly the price is going to be but it is going to be quite a bit more than what you might find a DS for today um now let's go and go on to some of the really cool and unique features of the 3DS uh so one of them and this one kind of got me pretty uh pretty excited I wasn't really expecting it is that it is actually going to have a virtual console very similar to the Wii which will be able to play Nintendo Game Boy games uh so I do want to clarify this is not going to you know it's not going to have like the DS Where a cartridge but instead you're going to go ahead and download these games I'm sure for how many ever Wii points or whatever they decide to call them uh so this is definitely really cool news I'm really glad that they are bringing some of the Game Boy games back um another really interesting feature is that the 3DS is actually going to support Miis um so if you don't know what Miis are basically if you've ever played the Wii you know you create those customized little characters uh well the 3DS is going to have these but it's actually going to be improved a little bit as basically you actually go ahead and with the 3DS take a picture of yourself and then it will create a Wei rather a me for you uh personally not a huge deal I mean yeah they're kind of fun to play with like on the Wii they were fun to play with for a few minutes I'm sure it'll be kind of nice to have your own custom avatar and if assuming it's fairly accurate you know take a picture yourself that's pretty cool uh so guys that's pretty much it there was a few other things the 3DS including that the 3DS will actually come with a 2 GB SD card pre-installed um but yeah so that's pretty much it anyway guys uh I'm really pretty excited to know that you know the 3DS is going to be able to support Game Boy games and that it does look pretty much the same the final design is practically exactly what we've seen so they didn't you know change it up like they did with the DS uh not really all that excited that we're going to have to wait until uh February for Japan and March for the United States and Europe but H not that big a deal so anyway guys definitely leave your thoughts in the comments what are you thinking are you looking forward to the 3DS now we have a release date and somewhat of a price uh so yeah anyway guys thanks for watching whey guys so today I'm here with an overview of the Wii remote plus as well as the
