The Buggy's Oil Spill Disaster

We were having a great time tinkering with our buggy when disaster struck. As we pulled the pan off, we thought that all the oil would drain out through one of the little holes. But unfortunately, the hole wasn't big enough, and the oil started spreading everywhere. It was leaking out of every corner of the buggy, and we were like, "There's no way this is going to work!" We had three catch pans under there, but it still wasn't enough. The oil just spread out over the sheet metal, coming out of the floor. It was lubricated, but you know it's not good.

The oil spill was causing a major concern, and we were worried that it would be a huge mess to clean up. But, as we said, "It's lubricated," so at least it wasn't catastrophic. However, the flames from the engine were still lit off pretty well, and we couldn't help but notice how intense they were. The flames were about three feet high, which was quite impressive. We all agreed that Hayden had left the worst time; he had to rush off to get a massage. I felt like I got a massage in my chest when I heard the fire crackling. It was definitely an intense experience.

As we continued working on the buggy, we realized that we needed to find a way to contain the oil spill. We came up with a plan to use a big piece of plastic sheeting to cover everything, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough. The oil just kept spreading everywhere. We had to think fast and come up with a new solution. Luckily, one of our guys suggested using some catch pans under each corner of the buggy, which helped contain the spill.

Just then, Roman pulled up in his trailer, and we were all relieved to see that he was here to help us finish the job. He asked if we wanted to ride along with him while he hauled the buggy home, and we agreed. As we sat on the trailer, waiting for Roman to finish loading everything, we chatted about our plans for the future. We discussed our next project, which would be a trip to Jersey, where we'd spend 20 hours or more just sitting around, waiting for our next fuel stop.

After that long wait, we decided it was time to get back to work on the buggy's turbo kit. We were excited to see how it would perform once we had it installed and tuned up. The launch control system sounded absolutely insane, and we couldn't wait to hear it in person. Once we got the turbo kit installed, all we needed to do was upgrade the injectors, run a few vacuum lines, and throw some new air filters on the engine. We were all super pumped about getting this project done and couldn't wait to see what our buggy would do once it was finished.

We took a moment to give credit where credit was due – to Hayden, who had helped us with the fab work and lent a hand in getting the job done quickly. He absolutely killed it on the welds, as always, and we were grateful for his help. We also showed off our newly mounted intercooler and made sure everything was securely held in place.

As we finished up the video, we took care of one last thing – we added a nice air filter to protect the engine from dust and dirt. We knew that this buggy would be seeing a lot of action, and we wanted to make sure it stayed running smoothly. And with that, our project was complete.

can see there's some changes here we have a little piece of tubing coming off of our turbo right there because we're getting started on making a down pipe we have the oil feed and oil return line made and going to our turbo we had to run and get some bolts for the turbo as well got it bolted down nice and tight and hayden just got this little brace knocked out so we just welded it straight to this back bar on the buggy right here and it unbolts just to make it easier if we have to take stuff apart later on and then he just welded that right to the uh inside flange of the turbo right there so now the turbo is nice and solid not going anywhere nope so we should be able to take some jumps and she shouldn't be wiggling loose back there and uh yeah i think that's about it we got some oil put into it because we uh drained all the oil when we pulled the pan off have a new oil filter on there and you can see where the feed is coming out it would have been nice to get some 90 degree fittings on this feed line but this is just one we had for right now so that just wraps up around goes to the turbo we got our charge pipes on we still need to get the blow-off valve on i need to get the clamps on as well to start making boost uh and then i'll continue to figure out uh relocating this reservoir because it's kind of in the way so we need to figure that out as well but it is very close but we are calling her good enough right now to fire it up yes so we're taking a little break and we want to hear this thing run so we just got the jump box hooked up and uh we're gonna go ahead and see how she sounds what you think this is awesome man seeing it right now for the first time it's sweet yeah you were gone road course racing over the weekend while we were turboing this thing it was fun what's up fong what's up fong's been fong's been missing for a while finally came down to the shop to hang out you're just in time to see this thing fire up yeah just make sure the throttle don't stick oh that should be good famous last words it's a little deeper now it's got a bad exhaust link this header you hear it oh it does it yeah it probably needs a new gasket yeah because when we took it off it's all good though we had a feeling oil pressure's good feel good what are you doing what are you guys doing nice now i just need some clamps and blow-off valve finish the downpipe and she's about ready to go yeah i like it just flows real nice it's good yeah that's before the original exhaust went through too isn't it yeah some guys in the comments were saying that our exhaust is gonna hit on the arm and that is exactly where the other one was and it never had an issue this exhaust is a little bit bigger in diameter than the other one but i mean if you guys look how high that arm would have to come like the tire would be way up by the intake this thing would be bottoming out hard if it's hitting the exhaust so we'd have other problems i don't think we're gonna be sending it that hard at least not yet and if we do then you know we might have a couple dents in our exhaust that'll be cool but it's going to take a lot to hit that exhaust so i think we'll be all right and obviously okay now oh it feels good now no more noise yeah so the turbo rubbed a little bit but it cleared what are you doing over here dude it's hot what you need you need one of these mr cool go let it warm up buddy and keep in mind there's no line to the waist gate so it's just going to make whatever we still have to get the vacuum on going to the wastegate there he goes my head in he's motors and i didn't i didn't know if the stock motor was going to handle that but you know she's ripping it's a spark arrestor yeah we installed our spark arrestor right here we're catching all the fire jeez well it sounded good yeah it sounds freaking awesome yeah back there it sounds pretty rowdy dude it's it's gun it literally sounds like it literally sounds like you're at a gun range and someone's just lighting off ar rounds next to you hold this camera okay miss roman's laugh there she is turbo razzle dazzle we're gonna we're gonna try to put it on the dyno in like a couple days yeah still got some things to button up on the mr2 but we might have to put injectors on this thing to actually make decent power well yeah that's what we should do or do you want to try it with the stock ones and just see what they go to no jamie said no the injectors on there and then it's ready for the dyno this thing's gonna rip i mean it was already so fun how it was like now i'm just gonna be and uh yeah i think that's about it we got some oil put into it because we uh drained all the oil when we pulled the pan off have a new oil filter on there and you can see where the feed is coming out it would have been nice to get some 90 degree fittings on this feed line but this is just one we had for right now so that just wraps up around goes to the turbo we got our charge pipes on we still need to get the blow-off valve on i need to get the clamps on as well to start making boost uh and then i'll continue to figure out uh relocating this reservoir because it's kind of in the way so we need to figure that out as well but it is very close but we are calling her good enough right now to fire it up yes so we're taking a little break and we want to hear this thing run so we just got the jump box hooked up and uh we're gonna go ahead and see how she sounds what you think this is awesome man seeing it right now for the first time it's sweet yeah you were gone road course racing over the weekend while we were turboing this thing it was fun what's up fong what's up fong's been fong's been missing for a while finally came down to the shop to hang out you're just in time to see this thing fire up yeah just make sure the throttle don't stick oh that should be good famous last words it's a little deeper now it's got a bad exhaust link this header you hear it oh it does it yeah it probably needs a new gasket yeah because when we took it off it's all good though we had a feeling oil pressure's good feel good what are you doing what are you guys doing nice now i just need some clamps and blow-off valve finish the downpipe and she's about ready to go yeah i like it just flows real nice it's good yeah that's before the original exhaust went through too isn't it yeah some guys in the comments were saying that our exhaust is gonna hit on the arm and that is exactly where the other one was and it never had an issue this exhaust is a little bit bigger in diameter than the other one but i mean if you guys look how high that arm would have to come like the tire would be way up by the intake this thing would be bottoming out hard if it's hitting the exhaust so we'd have other problems i don't think we're gonna be sending it that hard at least not yet and if we do then you know we might have a couple dents in our exhaust that'll be cool but it's going to take a lot to hit that exhaust so i think we'll be all right and obviously okay now oh it feels good now no more noise yeah so the turbo rubbed a little bit but it cleared what are you doing over here dude it's hot should do or do you want to try it with the stock ones and just see what they go to no jamie said no the injectors on there and then it's ready for the dyno this thing's gonna rip i mean it was off and we thought that all the oil would drain out one of these little holes but the hole wasn't big enough so it started spreading everywhere and it was leaking out of every corner of the buggy and we're like there's we had like three catch pants under there it wasn't enough it just spread out over the sheet metal everywhere coming out of the floor it's lubricated but you know it's good now it was lighting off pretty good that was sick that was pretty good i love this thing yeah how long were the flames yeah they're three footers yeah hayden left it the worst time he had to go get a massage i felt that in my chest that was a massage in my chest oh yeah he would have canceled the appointment down the road he's at the stop sign hearing it all he had to do is feel that and he would have freaking insane i wish you guys could hear it in person yourselves it was absolutely crazy but i'm super pumped the turbo kit is pretty much done all we need to do to get it onto the dyno and tune it is upgrade the injectors because the stock ones are probably not gonna cut it so we'll just get the injectors upgraded and then we just gotta run a couple vacuum lines here and there and that's about it we'll throw on the dyno and see what happens so super pumped i also wanna give a huge shout out to hayden for helping with the fab work and just lending a hand on getting this thing done because it would have not got done this fast we knocked it out really quick once we got going so you shout out to him he absolutely killed it on the welds like always and i don't think we showed this but we got the intercooler all mounted up we have the two tabs up here and then he added this piece of metal right down here and that ties into both mounts on the bottom of the intercooler and now she's not going anywhere so intercooler's good everything's mounted solid the brace on the turbo seems like it's gonna work good right there and we are going to be running an air filter on this thing obviously before we go rip it a lot of you guys in the comments were thinking we were just going to send it with nothing because i know we do that a lot on our race cars but obviously this thing is going to see a lot of dust dirt and sand so we're going to get a nice air filter for it and then the nice fine mesh cover to go over that to protect uh from small particles like sand and everything from getting in there but uh we'll get that stuff on the way but yeah that is gonna do it for this video guys hope you enjoyed it was also really good to see roman again as well and we will be seeing him in some
