iOS 10.1 Beta 2 - What's New _ iOS 10.1 Beta 2 New Features, Bug Fixes

What's Up Guys: Exploring iOS 10 Beta 2

My name is Brandon and today Apple released iOS 10 beta 2 to registered developers, and I'm excited to take a closer look at what's new and what hasn't been fixed in the latest beta version. As you know, iOS 10.1 brings several highly anticipated features, including portrait mode on the iPhone 7 plus. However, this update also includes many other new features and fixes that we'll be exploring today.

One of the first things I noticed when comparing iOS 10 beta 2 to beta 1 or iOS 10.0.2 is that there are no significant benchmark improvements. In fact, the performance is roughly the same as its predecessor. However, I did notice that the animation lag found in beta 1 has been significantly reduced in beta 2. While it's still present, the lag is much smoother and less noticeable than before. As you can see in the comparison on the right-hand side of my screen, we now have a line instead of dots, which looks cleaner and more modern in the messages drawer.

Another fix that I'm glad to see has been addressed in beta 2 is the message effects option under Reduce Motion. This feature allows users to enable reduced motion while still seeing the effects, such as Fetti or balloons, when sending messages with animations. Unfortunately, this feature was not available in iOS 10 or the 10.1 beta 1. With Reduced Motion enabled, messages will now send their effects even with the animation disabled.

In addition to these changes, I've also noticed that keyboard taps appear to be slightly quieter than they were in beta 1. This isn't something you'll notice on a day-to-day basis, but if you listen closely, you can hear that the keyboard taps are a little bit lighter than before. Furthermore, some Bluetooth headphone bugs have been squashed, including reports of stuttering issues.

Now, let's take a look at what's not included in iOS 10.1 beta 2 and what hasn't been fixed yet. Unfortunately, there are no new wallpapers available in this update, which I'm surprised by given the usual pace of Apple's updates. Furthermore, the animation lag is still not completely gone, although it has improved significantly since beta 1. Additionally, the issue with people losing signal on their iPhone 7 remains unsolved, and I expect this to be fixed in the final version of iOS 10.1.

In conclusion, iOS 10.1 beta 2 is a minor update that brings some great new fixes while still leaving some bugs unresolved. As we wait for the next beta and the final release of iOS 10.1, it's essential to keep an eye on these updates and provide feedback to Apple. With any luck, future versions will address these persisting issues, and we can look forward to a smoother user experience. Thanks for watching, guys!

or hasn't been fixed in the latest beta version so as you know iOS 10.1 brings the highly anticipated portrait mode to the iPhone 7 plus but it also brings a lot of other new features and fixes so first of all iOS 10 beta 2 does not have any Benchmark improvements over beta 1 or iOS 10.0.2 however the first difference I noticed is that the animation lag found in beta 1 is not as bad in beta 2 so it's still there you know it still happens every once in a while but the animation lag is a lot smoother in beta 2 and as you can see in beta 2 on the right hand side we now have a line instead of the dots like found in beta 1 as you can see on the left hand side so I think this looks a lot cleaner in the messages drawer and just looks a lot more modern than the dots did in beta 1 now a much needed fix that I'm glad got fixed in beta 2 is the message effects option under reduce motion so this means that you can now have reduced motion enabled and still see the message effects like Fetti or the balloons or whatever while having reduced motion on this is something you could not do with iOS 10 or the 10.1 beta 1 so as you can see with reduced motion on if I go into my messages and send an effect it will send it with that effect as you can see there now the keyboard Taps also appear to be a little bit quieter than they were in beta 1 it's not something you're going to notice on a day-to-day basis but if you listen closely you will hear that they are a little bit lighter than they were in beta 1 I've also read that some Bluetooth headphone bugs have been squashed so some people actually reporting a stuttering issue but that appears to be fixed in iOS 10.1 beta 2 as for what isn't included and what hasn't been fixed yet first of all there are no new wallpapers unfortunately we still haven't got any new wallpapers which I'm really surprised by also Apple has still not fixed the animation lag completely it's a lot better in beta 2 but it's still not completely gone also the issue with people losing signal on their iPhone 7 has still not yet been fixed but I expect this to be fixed with the final version of 10.1 so iOS 10.1 beta 2 is just a minor update but it does bring some great new fixes hopefully beta 3 and of course the final version of 10.1 fixes some of these persisting bugs anyways guys thanks for watching that is just a quick video on iOS 10.1 beta 2
