The One Plus 7: A Game-Changing Device?
We've got some hot new leaks that caught my attention, and one device that's definitely making waves is the One Plus 7. I've had the chance to use almost all of the recent One Plus devices, so I'm excited to see what this new model has in store for us.
The leak suggests that the One Plus 7 will be doing something that no popular phone in North America has done before - putting the selfie camera into a motorized structure. This feature is similar to what we've seen in some more obscure and premium devices from Vivo and Oppo, which I've had the chance to review on this channel. If these leaks are true, it looks like the One Plus 7 will have a slim and sleek pop-up selfie camera that's sure to turn heads.
For me, as someone who doesn't use their front-facing camera often, this feature isn't a huge deal. I wouldn't even necessarily launch it unless I needed to take a selfie or make a video call. However, I do think the aspect that would be missed more is face unlock. With the front-facing camera having to pop up every time we want to use face unlock, there needs to be some significant speed on the motor to make it feel seamless like what's currently available on the One Plus 6.
I have to commend whoever came up with this idea - it's ambitious and shows that One Plus is willing to take risks to stand out from the crowd. We've been talking about differentiation for a while now, and this feature definitely delivers on that front. By bringing this unique feature to a global market, One Plus is sure to make a statement and get people talking.
Of course, as with any new device, there are pros and cons to consider. The most significant drawback for me would be the lack of wireless charging. One Plus has been open about their stance on wireless charging in the past, and it seems like they're still not on board. While we do get faster charging without wireless, many competitors have taken this feature as a given. So, if you're someone who's used to having wireless charging in your device, you might be disappointed.
Despite this drawback, I think the One Plus 7 has the potential to be a very exciting and popular choice. With its rumored triple camera setup, which includes a 12-megapixel camera with an F1.5 aperture, a 20-megapixel camera with an F2.6 aperture, and a 3D time-of-flight sensor, we can expect some incredible photography capabilities. The device is also expected to have the latest Snapdragon 855 processor, possibly paired with 5G capabilities.
The screen size could be as much as 6.5 inches FHD+, which would be a significant upgrade from previous One Plus devices. And, if the leaks are true, we can expect the device to come with 6GB of RAM and a battery life over 4,000 milliampere-hours. If the price is right, I think One Plus will have a good chance of moving a lot of these units.
Overall, the One Plus 7 seems like it's shaping up to be a game-changer in the world of smartphones. With its unique pop-up selfie camera, impressive photography capabilities, and fast charging speeds, this device has all the makings of a hit. We can't wait to see if it lives up to our expectations when it finally hits the market.
