The Studio Transformation: A Crafty Adventure
Hello crafters! I just realized there's something at the studio that I don't like, and I want to show you what it is, come. This thing is right on the entrance and I don't like it. It doesn't look crafty at all and it's the first thing you see when you come in because the door is right here. So when someone comes to visit when we just come inside, we see this and I don't like seeing this! Today we're going to transform it to make it a lot cuter using our crafty powers!
The Object in Question
So today we're going to show you what's been bothering me about this thing. It was originally used as the base for our colorful square backgrounds, but since we have our studio now, it just ended up being left at the entrance. I don't know if you remember that it was colorful squares. That's what it was for and since we don't use it for the backgrounds anymore, it's been left in the same spot with a fabric that I don't like. So we're going to take it off and transform it. Just in case you were wondering, we built this ourselves. It's just these PVC pipes, I don't know if you can see it. It's all DIY!
The Plan
Ready! I'm going to save this fabric because it can be useful maybe we could even dye it. I don't know, I'm having a lot of ideas. The fabric has been on this thing for years. And now the plan is to make a flowers wall using this structure. So I think we need to buy Styrofoam or something similar to Styrofoam and a lot of flowers so we need to go shopping! I decided I'm not going to use Styrofoam for the base, we're going to use a mesh. So we're going to use this one. Well, I'm not using that one. That's the one we're going to use.
The Shopping Trip
This small one. To be able to slide the flowers through the holes. We need 4 meters. We came to see if the flowers are cheaper here. We're at a $15.00 pesos only store. Because the initial idea was to go to a flower store, but the flowers are very expensive and they cost more than $35.00 pesos so imagine filling all of that with flowers! So we came and these look pretty good. They aren't as expensive, they cost $19.90.
The Flower Selection
The thing is that there aren't as many in the same color, so I don't know what we're going to do. We decided to change the strategy and we're also going to take these ones which are like bouquets with a lot of flowers. We're taking 15 of those and 39 pink ones. I'm very happy today! I have mixed feelings for these flowers.
The DIY Process
Can you see they don't look like a lot? But in reality, there's so much more to it. Honestly, you can't imagine how many flowers we used to make this. So we're going to do a mini giveaway where you have to guess how many flowers are on this flower wall?
The Finished Product
Watch it carefully. Leave your comment below, and the people who get closer I'm going to choose one to win a gift surprise! And since I know you already left your comment, I'm going to place this inside the studio so you can see how it looks finished.
Tadah!
The Finished Background
This is how it looks now. It looks a lot better right? Tell me your thoughts in the comment section. Remember we're going to see each other in Mixer! I'll leave the link above so you can go. today!I have mixed feelings for these flowers. Can you see they don't look like a lot?But in reality, they are a lot.I feel like they aren't going to cover up all of the spaceof the thing that we have in the back.So I'm worried.I'm optimist and I think we're going to make it,but honestly I think we'll need more.Ah!Ah!I almost died!Imagine it scratched my face!Imagine that thing scratched my face! The easiest way to hold up the meshis by using cable ties, and tie them up around our basewhich is this one that's already made.We also have to connect two pieces of the meshusing the cable tiesand so this won't hurt anyonewe're going to cut them using our pincers. Now we finished cutting thisI've stabbed myself a couple of times nowand it's not coolso we need to do something about thatand we're going to put a bit of hot glue on the tipsjust so it won't hurt someone after it's finished. That way there won't be any accidents. But we need to do all of this.We just finished adding silicone ballson the edges, can you see it?It took 80 thousand years. And now it's time to eat!Now we can start adding on the flowers. We have to cut them so that the sticksare about the same size. And we're going to add them on like this.We need to get them stuck very carefullyand I recommend you to alternate themso that they look different.I'm going to start making rowsto try to distribute everything homogeneously. We just realized that we don't have enough flowers, those are the ones we we're able to putand we don't have any more pink ones.We just have 2 left. And these carnations, and we haven't even reached the bottom. So we need to find more flowers to complete the lines. And find flowers to fill up the middleotherwise it'll be really empty. So we have to buy a bunch of flowers!Friends I'm leaving Waldo's without flowerslook at this. They're even helping me put them down.Look at this cart please. It's packed with flowers! Now it's time to alternate the pink onesbecause all of the pastel colored onesfinished up, we just have oneand we still need the bottom rowsso for the change not to be noticeableI'm going to alternate with the ones we havewhich is like this one and this one.So that it can look the same. And also with the carnationsbecause we only have whites leftand all of the top ones are salmonso we need to alternate them. It's finished! We have finished our beautiful flower wall!I think that this background is incredible for spring. It's very pretty. If you organize events,it can help for a sweet 16 or a wedding background.Although I think it's perfect just to decorate your home.Honestly you can't imaginehow many flowers we used to make this.So we're going to do a mini giveawaywhere you have to guess how many flowersdo you think there are on this flower
