A Unique Opportunity to Get Involved with Lotus
We are excited to announce a unique competition that we have run with Lotus, where our readers got the chance to get involved and experience the thrill of driving these exceptional cars. The competition started with readers visiting local dealerships to take the cars for a spin, after which they sent in their reports. We then judged those reports and are now at the factory with the top 20 finalists who will be testing the cars today.
Today's Event at the Factory
As we speak, these top 20 finalists are putting the Lotus cars through their paces here at the factory. They also have the opportunity to take a tour of the facility and enjoy a fantastic day out. Following this, they will write another report for us on the day, which I will personally judge. The overall winner will then be writing reports in our magazine for me.
The Thoris: A Revelation
I am thrilled to say that the Thoris has been a revelation. It's unique and there is nothing quite like it out there. I've never driven a car that felt so at home on the track, and I would describe it as "composed." This car truly has "feel" - it inspires confidence every single corner of the track. The power delivery in the super TI version is simply fantastic, and it's an experience unlike anything else.
The Steering Feel
One thing that stands out for me about the Thoris is its steering feel. It's just epic! When you turn into a corner and reach the apex, the car feeds back to you in a way that's truly unreal. There's nothing quite like the sensation of driving this car - it feels malleable beneath you, soaking up what's going on while still giving you enough feedback to keep you engaged.
Driving Dynamics
I've driven other cars in the past, such as Porches, and they can feel intimidating. But the Thoris is almost the exact opposite - it encourages you to push your limits, which makes for a lot of fun! The car handles beautifully, with excellent braking and handling capabilities that make it incredibly smooth to drive.
The Torque
One of the things I love about the Thoris is its power delivery. It's like pressing on the throttle and feeling like there's no limit to how fast you can go - it's truly exhilarating! The car feels light-footed and compliant, yet comfortable when you're not pushing it to its limits.
The Overall Impression
I have been thoroughly impressed by the caliber of our Evo readers who participated in this competition. Despite knowing some of them, I was still blown away by their driving skills and knowledge of car dynamics - they really know their stuff! It's been an exceptional day overall, and I'm thrilled to see how these cars will be used in future reports for our magazine.
An Exceptional Day
I have come out after this track day feeling incredibly impressed. There's nothing quite like driving a Lotus, and it's clear that they've got it right on all aspects - engine, chassis, braking, handling... everything! The Thoris just inspires so much confidence, making you want to get back in the car and drive some more.
A Truly Exceptional Experience
I have to say that I think I may be interested in buying a Thoris even if I don't get one for a year. That's how impressed I am with this exceptional car - it's truly unique and has everything a driving enthusiast could want. The overall experience of driving the Thoris is just sublime, making me eager to see what other adventures these cars will have in our magazine.

it makes you feel like a racing driver I don't know if I was surprised I I just expected it to be great and it was the power deal over especially in the super TI version It's just fantastic it's awesome it's like you start pressing on the throttle and it feels like it's unlimited the thing that stands out for me with the avora is the steering feeli it is just epic um the way that it feeds back uh as turn into the corner and reach the Apex is just unreal there's like nothing else it really feels malleable beneath you you know it it soaks up what's going on but it gives you enough feedback having driven other cars like pores in the past they can feel quite intimidating whereas I'd say this is almost the exact opposite and it almost encourage you to push your limits really which is obviously makes for a lot of fun it's incredibly smooth um it does exactly what you want it to do the steering inputs are faithful um you know it gives you it flatters you as a driver I think I I may be interested in buying one even if I don't get one for a year I'd say they they've got it right on all uh on all aspects engine chassis braking handling it's just um it's a joy to drive it feels light footed and compliant and comfortable when it doesn't look like it should be theora just inspires so much confidence you're on the accelerator much quicker out the corners faster through the bins
