TCL P Series Roku TV - Hands On Review

Hey there today we are reviewing the TCL 55 p60 7 this is a brand new high performance TV from TCL with 4k Ultra HD resolution Dolby vision HDR 10 and it runs on the Roku OS platform.

Bottom line this is one of the best performing TVs you can get for the money let's take a look at some of the special features and see how the picture performance turns out. This TV is handsome enough it's got a trim bezel and a maximum 3-inch bump out the back so it should look great wall-mounted and the simple feet are easy to install and stand just thirty 8.5 inches apart making it an easy TV to put on an entertainment stand.

The included Roku remote gives you four hot keys for popular apps and there's a headphone jack for private listening earbuds are even included you can also control the TV and enjoy wireless audio with a smartphone or tablet using Roku's handy app labeling your inputs is a breeze and we like how we can organize the order of components and streaming apps to suit our needs.

For picture settings we started with the movie preset which is pretty good out of the box though I did bump the brightness up a few notches and bent the tint back two notches toward green as Red's tend to be a little too intense. The picture adjustment process is a little odd though in that you have to start streaming a show within an app to adjust picture settings for that app that's gonna be a little work at first fortunately adjusting individual inputs is easy enough.

As for picture quality I'm extremely impressed with what I'm seeing at this price there are 72 individual zones of LED backlight control which gives us remarkably good black levels with intense brightness for HDR material the color is vivid and well saturated. And as for processing this TV isn't quite on the same level as one of Sony or maybe LG's best but again at this price point it's impressive motion is better than I expected so fast moving scenes and sports should look great on this TV for HDR and 4k content.

Check out Roku's dedicated 4k channel you'll find HDR content on Amazon video Netflix and Vudu and it all looks fantastic overall we are extremely impressed this new performance series from TC goes far beyond what we expected and kind of changes what we expect from a TV at this price point.
