Moto Turbo Gaming Review with Heavy Games

The Performance and Temperature Review of Moto Turbo: A Gaming Device Analysis

In this review, we put the Moto Turbo through its paces to assess its performance and temperature management capabilities, particularly in gaming scenarios. The device was found to be running various games smoothly, including Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5, with only minor frame drops observed. However, it's worth noting that these games require high-performance hardware, and the Moto Turbo delivers on this front.

When playing Asphalt 8, which has a single speaker, the sound quality was adequate but not exceptional. The game ran smoothly, even at the highest graphics settings, although some lag was noticed after an April update. Interestingly, the lag issue persisted for around 10 minutes of gaming, followed by a brief respite before returning.

Asphalt 8's graphics were found to be quite good, and the on-screen steering controls worked well. However, the game did experience some frame drops, which can be a concern for gamers who value smooth gameplay. Nevertheless, these frame drops were not severe enough to detract from the overall gaming experience.

The test was also conducted outdoors in a non-AC environment, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 43°C (77°F to 109°F). The Moto Turbo's performance held up well despite the heat, which is impressive considering the device's internal temperature management capabilities. However, it's worth noting that playing games outdoors in hot weather can cause the screen to overheat, as seen during this review.

The temperatures were monitored throughout the test, and the results showed that the screen reached a scorching 43°C (109°F) after around 13 minutes of gaming. This is alarming, considering the screen's temperature should not exceed 40°C (104°F) for optimal performance. The back of the device, on the other hand, remained relatively cool, with temperatures ranging from 41°C to 41.5°C (106°F to 107°F). It's worth noting that this may be due to the phone's design and internal temperature management.

The Moto Turbo performed well overall, but it's essential to consider its limitations, particularly when it comes to temperature management. While the device can handle demanding games without significant lag or frame drops, playing for extended periods may cause the screen to overheat. Gamers should be aware of this potential issue and take steps to prevent overheating, such as keeping their gaming sessions shorter or using cooling devices.

In conclusion, the Moto Turbo is a capable gaming device that delivers smooth performance across various games. However, its temperature management capabilities are not ideal, particularly when playing for extended periods. With proper usage and precautions, gamers can enjoy the Moto Turbo's impressive performance without compromising on temperature-related issues.

Temperature Management:

The device experienced some lag after an April update, but this was resolved after a few minutes. However, playing for extended periods may cause the screen to overheat, reaching temperatures up to 43°C (109°F).

Gaming Experience:

The gaming experience on the Moto Turbo was smooth and enjoyable, although some frame drops were observed in Asphalt 8.

Cooling Performance:

The device's cooling performance was adequate but not exceptional. The back of the phone remained relatively cool, while the screen reached temperatures that are potentially damaging for optimal performance.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and in this video we'll be doing the gaming review with this Moto Turbo which is the flagship device by Motorola and this packs some very decent specs uh like the Snapdragon 805 chips set a Quad HD screen and the internal storage is also pretty good it comes with 64 gig out of that you have 50 gigs so let's start some gaming and we'll start with casual games and then quickly move to heavy games so this is Dead Trigger 2 let's lob a grenade nice and as you can see it's running this actually pretty well and this Moto Turbo has a front firing speaker on this end hence the sound output also is pretty good so as you can see it's running it actually very well lots of action going on no issues also as it has an amulet screen uh the contrast level is actually very good looks very vibrant and the sound output also as I told you due to the front firing speaker is actually pretty loud so let's get out of this game and let's move to some other heavier games now now so this is Need for Speed and I also have my heat gun so we'll check the temperatures later on and again guys I just want to make one thing clear is that uh this is done in AC environment but I don't keep the AC on very high I just keep it at 25° C uh so that you get decent results so again if you play this outdoors in a non AC environment uh the temperatures would be slightly little bit more I would say but regarding this uh gaming performance as you can see it's running it very well very smooth game play I see no drop frames or anything like that so as you can see it's playing this game actually very well and let's move out to some other games now so this is Leo's Fortune and the graphics uh on this game are actually very good and as you can see it's very smooth again yes again as you can see it's running this one also very well in fact very smooth so as you can see it's running this one also very well I wonder how it works and again uh though it has just a single speaker I would say it's adequately loud the speaker is here on this end we don't have a speaker over here but again as you can see it's running this game also very well so let me just get out of this game it's running this one also very well as you can see so let's move out of this one and move to some other games now so this is asphal 8 and as you can see I've kept it on the highest Graphics settings and I'm using the on screen stering so let's play a few levels and see how it fails this is asphal 8 and I'm using the on screen steering controls and it's been around 10 minutes since we were gaming one thing I've noticed with asphal is that uh after the April update uh that was during the first week of April uh this game tends to lag a bit on many devices some drop frames again I can see those drop frames here also I noticed that on the S6 edge of so so looks like some optimization on this uh game because it never used to happen prior to the uh April update but still as you can see it's running it actually fairly well there are some frame drops if you look very closely but not a deal breaker I would say and now it's been about 11 odd minutes since we were gaming so we'll soon test the temperatures and see the temperatur uh and as you can see it's running it actually fairly r so it's been just over 13 minutes since we started this gaming session so let us look at the temperatures now and as you can see on the screen it's around the 41° C Mark 41 uh almost 42° C so the uh 43 so the screen is getting a bitot let's look at the back uh the back is actually not that uh hot um so this is surprising that the screen is actually hotter than the bat on this device but we'll continue so let's get out of this and let's also now try Modern Combat 5 and see how it fits so this is Modern Combat 5 and we'll play this for a few minutes and see how it handles it run hide I love the grenade okay this way stay back looks like it's handling it actually pretty well as you can see so far so good it's handling it actually pretty well I would say think that's the last of them and it's been around 18 minutes since we were gaming so let's look at the temperatures now thanks again uh the screen is exhibiting a bit uh hot around the 43° C it's surprising that the center of the screen is hitting a lot more generally on other phones it's near the year piece uh so near the ear piece it's around the 41° C Mark but uh if we go towards the back uh it's around the 41.5 or something it feels warm not very hot at the back uh but the screen is actually uh getting slightly uncomfortable I would say it's not very uncomfortable but slightly on the uncomfortable side so let's get out of that game also so what do I feel about the gaming on this uh Moto Turbo as you have seen from this video the performance is actually very good in terms of gaming also also in general performance the phone is very flowed and the best part about this Moto Turbo is that it has ample internal storage out of that 64 gigs of internal storage you get about 5050 gigs so that way you can install a lot of games and apps and also as we have seen from the gaming review it performs actually pretty good in gaming but yes with extended gaming uh the screen tends to get slightly on the warmer side so you got to be aware of that I'll also be posting the full in-depth review for this Moto Turbo very soon so if you're not subscribed to my YouTube channel hit that subscribe button thanks for watching this is ranit and I hope to see you in my next videohi there this
